Important Character Details: Above all, Larry's journey is shaped by his choices, the challenges he faces, and the opportunities he seizes. Throughout it all, one thing is certain: His unwavering dedication, charisma, and drive will continue to propel him forward.
Larry considers himself the consummate performer, looking to entertain the fans with his honed in-ring craft while striving to achieve his goals. Wrestling isn't just a career for Larry; it's a way of life. He's driven by legacy to compete at the highest level and against the best the wrestling industry has to offer - win or lose. Despite living a life of luxury, he still cherishes the simple joys of spending time with his family. Since his return in 2021, however, his family life has taken some unexpected twists, with assuredly more to come. While enjoying the financial security he's built through Tact Enterprises, Larry always has his sights set on the future. He plans to defy the odds and extend his wrestling career for as long as he can.
Backstory:
Larry Tact has been apart of numerous promotions over the years, always bringing his outspoken opinions and sharp tongue along. He's never had a problem clashing with others – whether it be in the ring or on the ‘stick’ – and carries himself with the confidence he can tangle with any contender. He seeks to walk his own path, make his name wherever he goes, and achieve his agenda. Depending on a given promotion's hierarchy, this attitude has either garnered praise or sown discord within the ranks.
After running through the Indie wrestling circuit for a couple years, Tact debuted on the pro circuit and became a title holder well within his first year, and a World Champion not long after his one-year mark. Having hit big in the "dot com" boom with his family, he possessed financial security at a young age. He invested money into his own startup, Tact Enterprises, which has grown and thrived for more than twenty years. This fueled Larry's arrogance; he viewed wrestling as nothing more than a pursuit of his passion for the sport. At the same time, he was wise enough to train with several mentors and peers, intermingling his technician's mindset and skill of the craft with power wrestling, making full use of his size and strength. Larry prides himself on his work ethic in the ring – putting a substantial amount of time into training and preparation.
From 2000 through 2015, Tact would go on to capture many championships across various promotions on the F-Wrestling/FWC circuit – including a 5x World Heavyweight Championship. He also competed in the coveted Ultratitle tournament, which collected wrestlers from across the world (ie, different message board feds). Although he didn't go significantly far in Ultratitle, being one of the 64 invited competitors was a career highlight for him. About a year after competing in Ultratitle, Larry felt content with where his in-ring career was. His wife, Cindy Winstead, had long been asking him to take a break and share in more of their teenage son, Logan's, own milestones. Larry decided it was time to set his boots aside and go on hiatus.
Fast forward to 2020 during the COVID lockdowns, when the itch for competition gnawed within Larry. However, Cindy had become pregnant and brought their second child into the world during this fraught time; a daughter named Morgan Tact. Logan was in high school and while the family discussed a return to the ring for Larry, in humble fashion, he kept his wrestling ambition on the backburner and continued to put family first while leading Tact Enterprises. As the year came to a close, Cindy finally gave her blessing for him to step back between the ropes. While this was a huge thrill, Larry thought he would need to reestablish himself because he would enter as a virtual unknown among his present contemporaries. This proved to be a crossroads for him; he decided he would exert his power to be recognized for the decorated wrestler he was, rather than trust in his connection with fans to fuel his charge.
In 2021, after a six years’ hiatus, Larry reemerged in Level Up Wrestling. He was determined to push his limits to new heights and reclaim his status as a top champion. He took on all challengers and stirred up a couple rivalries on his own. Proclaiming himself the ‘Swiss Army Knife’ of Level Up, thanks to his having competed in a wide a variety of matches, he steadily rose through the ranks. But his decided philosophy for his return sent him hurtling towards a dark path that did not please the fans of the fledgling promotion. He lost the connection with audiences that he had prior to his hiatus, leaving them at odds even as the promotion quickly grew from regional to national recognition. Larry's arrogance and entitlement to be at the top fully took the reigns once more. In the latter part of '21, Larry assembled a group behind the name 'Game Changers,' and they began running roughshod through the ranks of Level Up. At the biggest event of the year, Final Fantasy '21, Larry defeated Duncan Shepard and claimed the Power Championship, his first title since returning to the ring. The nature of the title was based in extreme matches, and Tact unleashed brutality upon anyone who dared to challenge for his title, or threaten the Game Changers. This also broke a promise that Larry had made to his wife, Cindy: Putting family first and not placing himself at terrible risk. Having competed in the ring herself for a few years, Cindy understood there were certain necessary risks in the wrestling industry. But she knew the difference between that and diving headlong into harmful situations and divisions. She also knew Larry's penchant to settle grudges, and the former Power Champion Duncan had been among Larry's most reviled new rivals. He chose to go after the Power title and Duncan for mostly selfish reasons. After a record-setting reign with the Power title, Larry met his match in the form of Vhodka Black, who dethroned him in a gruesome Bloodweb match in late 2022. That was the last straw for Cindy, who took their kids and left Larry to stay with her parents. Tact felt betrayed and alone, isolating himself when Level Up went on its own hiatus.
Larry had a bit of a roller coaster ride when he emerged in 2023 for UGWC. The few months off gave him a wake-up call to reshape his philosophy in this era of professional wrestling. He competed early on with Tony Savage over the Conquest Championship and was unable to wrest the title from the dual threat wrestler/boxer. However, in the process it began to restore his connection with the fans. He went on to win the WrestleStock Open Cup that year, defeating The Avenger and Jason Cashe in a hotly-contested triple threat final. Larry then rode that momentum into his first World Championship match, and invited the fans to go on this quest with him. Unfortunately for Larry, the World Champion was one Sebastian Everett-Bryce, the self-proclaimed "Best in the Business." First at the Massive Melee and then in a rematch at Keeper of the Keys 2023, Larry failed to capture the title. Despite falling short, he felt the connection with the audience deepen and did come to a mutual respect with the history-making Chaos Champion, and then-World Champion. To date, Larry has still not captured the UGWC World Heavyweight Championship, although he did become the International Champion (World title equivalent) over in Thunder Pro Wrestling. He competed there for a couple years after his return to the ring and, just before it shuttered, Larry was announced as its final Hall of Fame inductee. It's an honor he does not take lightly, and Tact credits the "Thunderamaniacs" (no typo!) for embracing him and sparking his reconnection with the fans.
Presently, Larry wrapped 2024 by main eventing UGWCs biggest show, Horizons. While he still has not captured the World Heavyweight Championship, he's no less determined. He also wants to continue shaping himself and his wrestling craft to lift his and other stars, strengthening the industry, and giving respect where its due. For those who want to tear down the sport and those competing within it, he's determined to make them regret crossing him.
Early in 2023, Larry was set to begin a run in the XWF. He even appeared on Warfare and fired up the fans, proclaiming he would take down SEB in these parts. The next thing anyone knew, he disappeared from the company for the rest of the year. Incredibly, something stopped him in his tracks, but it was not Cindy or his health. It was a conversation with a different loved one, someone he has rarely spoken about due to their contentious relationship. But after the events of UGWC Horizons 2024 – where Larry not only lost another bid for the World Championship, but saw his daughter Morgan kidnapped after the show – he needs an outlet. He needs to compete. Larry Tact is ready for the XWF.
But at what cost...?
Strengths: As a veteran, Larry's mastery of wrestling craft and acumen is tough to match. He also has a knowledge and ability to compete in any environment, combined with a resilience and passion stoked by the fans and their shared connection, driving him to not take defeats too severely and forge ahead to achieve goals.
Weaknesses: A stubbornness and tendency to get hot-headed that can get the better of him, along with a prideful desire to sometimes "go it alone" that can backfire. As a veteran, Larry has logged plenty of mileage and sometimes forgets he's not in his 20s anymore. While the fans adore him, Larry's peers aren't always convinced he's truly turned the page on the darkness and brutality he previously indulged in. Teammates can be tenuous or outright distrustful of him, even questioning if he's actively deceiving the audience. This can and has created further discord between Larry and his fellow wrestlers, or management.
Entrance Theme Music: "In the Face of Evil" by Magic Sword
Ring Entrance:
"In the Face of Evil" by Magic Sword reverberates over the PA. Row after row, aisle to aisle, fans rise from their seats throughout the arena and cheer, knowing one of their workhorses is about to appear!
As the second, third, and fourth chords of the theme reverberate, three spotlights shine down, one over another: A green circle, a gold triangle over it, and a crimson line intersecting the other two. On the Tron, his monikers cycle through one after another:
TACTILIZING ONE
GAME CHANGER
LIMIT BREAKER
From there, the beat triggers the house lights to illuminate the figure of Larry Tact standing on stage. He's looking down as he hones in for the battle ahead.
After a few seconds, Tact whips his head up and trudges to one side of the stage, firing up the fans by pointing towards different sections. He goes to the other side of the stage and beats his chest with a hand before opening his arms to the reaction of the crowd. "THIS IS YOUR SPOTLIGHT!" Larry bellows as the audience hoots and hollers back. He returns to center stage and points to either side of the crowd. The lights cut out except for green, gold, and crimson spotlights highlighting the audience in attendance. Larry makes his way down to the ring, pounding fists with some fans at ringside before hanging onto the middle rope and pulling himself up onto the apron.
Facing the stands, he opens his arms up and puffs his chest out to receive the feverish energy of his supporters. Wiping his boots on the apron, Tact proceeds into the ring. He climbs a turnbuckle and again holds his arms out. “BEST GAME WINS!!!” he exclaims to another pop before descending and making his final preparations for the match.

Additional Notes (What are some things that they would ALWAYS do? Or would NEVER do?):
- Doesn't actively try to cheat anymore, but he doesn't mind playing on the level of his opposition if they want to get nasty.
- Always open to entertaining the fans with each performance, not in a campy way but through spectacle and using his acumen to innovate when there is an opportunity.
- More to come...
Supporting characters of the Tactilizing Universe
CINDY WINSTEAD
Boss Mom. Head of the Table. She wears many hats and they all hold significant meaning to Larry and the Tact family. Cindy has been the rock of Larry's life for many years. She has strongly advocated for his career, and helps facilitate the unseen, behind-the-curtain work that aids in his training and preparation. Although they have been tested time and again by adversity, the pair draw off each other's resilience to pull together and find the best way forward for the family. When Lazarus Tact resurfaced, Cindy welcomed him with open arms. They have grown close over the past couple of years, to the point Lazarus entrusted her with more of his story before even Larry. Through the good times and bad, Cindy has remained in Larry's corner and looked out for him, even when he had trouble doing so for himself. In addition to her own successful corporate career, she had a burgeoning in-ring career of her own for a time. Instead, she chose to nourish her children and be the bedrock of her family. Presently, the situation has taken a dangerous turn with the kidnapping of her daughter, Morgan. Cindy and Larry have never been faced with such a tragic incident, and she will need to dig deep to find a new reservoir of strength that can guide them. Still, everyone has a limit and the more powerful you are, the backlash can be that much more severe if things fall apart...
LAZARUS TACT
Larry's younger brother. During his time on the indie circuit, Larry was part of a rivalry with two twin tower wrestlers known collectively as, "La Corporacion." Their years-long war was put on ice after Larry invited Lazarus, then a teenager, to team with him against La Corp in a Steel Cage match. Lazarus held great admiration for his brother and aspired to be a wrestler, while Larry believed he could guide his inexperienced brother through the match. In the end, Larry was felled and Lazarus was spiked on a rod of the steel cage. He was taken to a medical facility and pronounced dead. Years later, when Larry returned to the ring, Lazarus abruptly reappeared in the world. While elated, Larry has struggled with how much he really knows about his brother, his motivations for returning, and the possible sprawling ramifications on Larry and his family's lives. Lazarus also operates the "Lazarus Compound" -- part state-of-the-art, hybrid training facility for peak athletes; and part luxury getaway resort for the wealth class. His true motives are shrouded in mystery, but Larry and Cindy are aware that this is not Larry's actual brother from their world. He is a version of Lazarus from an alternate timeline, in which Larry sacrificed himself in the tag match with La Corp to save his brother. In his timeline, Lazarus went on to marry Cindy Winstead and continue running Tact Enterprises, although they never had a family of their own. When Cindy passed due to illness, he used his Mensa level genius to crack time travel and came to this timeline to reunite with his brother and true love. He's found other timelines, as well, and unbeknownst to the Tact family, must leave periodically to maintain various operations across different worlds. He was on one such trip when Morgan Tact was kidnapped at the end of 2024. For now, this is all we know...
LOGAN TACT
Larry's son, currently attending university. He has aspirations to be a wrestler, himself, following in his father's footsteps. When Lazarus returned, the first person he connected with, incognito, was Logan. The two bonded from the start and Lazarus has been secretly training Logan using the resources at the Lazarus Compound. Logan has been hesitant to reveal his training to his father, for fear of backlash or Larry completely shutting it down. With his little sister's kidnapping, things will no doubt become more complicated and tangled for Logan and his ambitions.
CINDY TACT
An alternate timeline version of Cindy Winstead, she is unable to conceive children. In her timeline, CindyT grew to despise Larry, who never humbled himself to reconnect with the fans. She encountered Lazarus on one of his time-hopping excursions and as time went on she fell in love. When this alternate timeline's Larry realized the two were having an affair -- and after Lazarus enacted a hostile takeover of Tact Enterprises -- he assumed a vigilante-like persona named "Larry Sacrifice," and managed to get ahold of the time travelling tech to warn Larry in other timelines. Faced with this threat, CindyT and Lazarus located and murdered Larry Sacrifice in cold blood. CindyT assumed this would solidify her love with Lazarus, but instead it made him distant and made her feel more lonely than ever. She ended up discovering Lazarus' time travelling abilities, and was able to coerce his right hand, Fanatic, into allowing her to use the tech. As a result, CindyT is the one who kidnapped Morgan Tact in our "home" timeline. She was lost in the wind after that incident, and has not been heard from since.
