Eric Rex is sitting on his couch, cleaning a gun while Lacey plays with some toys, TMNT, in the floor. The phone rings.

"Hi. It's Sal. Sal Val..."

"Did they take care of it, Sal?" Rex interrupts.

"Ohhhhhh, yes. The insurance settlement is going through now."

"How much are we looking at?"

"Well, I took out a $30mil policy in case of something like the fire. So...Thank God for KnightMask, huh?"

"Indeed. KnightMask is turning out to be our knight in shining armor. Tell Roland he's getting a raise."

"Never knew you to make puns. Way ahead of you, boss. How about that church service with Eli?"

"We all have hobbies."

"Man's a loon. Then again, we're the ones that decided to put an 8 yr. old up on a pole as a match stipulation."

"Loons can be useful."

"That seems to be my life motto. I've gotta' run, Eric. Later."

I've said it since I've been here, hell, I've said it since I can remember. The driving forces in my life are power, money, and control. The thing is, and this is largely thanks to Eli James IV, and the fact that I now have more money than I could use in a lifetime, that the money is meaning less and less to me, lately. You see, I've never been bound by the superfluous. I've never cared for much else than the things I need to get by. For most of my life, I've lived out of a backpack despite my money, and I've been content with that.

What I'm not content with is a lack of control. With a lack of power. Not that I'm without both...but a man can always use more. I've been called a greedy man, and in that respect, I very much am. Santos and Falcon will see just how much control I can take in that ring...Over both of them. They'll experience the power I possess.

Soon, The Academi will be one of the most dominant forces in the XWF. When Eli James IV seizes the Wild Card in the battle royal...When I get my revenge on KnighMask...

When I get my revenge on Wallace Witasick.

*Rex begins to applaud.*

All hail the King. John Madison, what you did on Wednesday Warfare was the single most beautiful thing I've seen since I've been here. A man like Witasick deserves no less. The only problem I had watching it was that Tyrone, as poetic as that was, was the man to put him through that table. I've been aching to do it for months.

When he shows his head again, I'll be there. I'll be ready.

If Wallace Witasick was on his deathbed, I'd show up to be the one squeezing the tube to his life support. The man is guttertrash.

What he's done to me, to the other competitors here, and...to my daughter, Lacey Witasick...it will not go unpunished.

All who stand with him, will not go unpunished.

KnightMask will pay. He'll pay for laying a hand on my beautiful daughter's head. He'll pay for torching the orphanage that housed all of those children. I KNOW WHAT THEY'RE GOING THROUGH, KNIGHTMASK! You're a sick man. You're a sick man and I am the cure, do you understand me?

Peter Gilmour...we will meet again. And next time, there won't be anyone to save you from what's coming.

*The lights flicker. Eric Rex scowls.*

You. Your betrayal will not go unnoticed either.

*Victor Gobalsky sits quietly in his room. He's been living at Sal Valencia's condo, and it's a very nice place. But Victor has not been able to find comfort since joining Eric Rex. He knows too much. The entire reason he joined him in the first place was to pay for the orphans and refugees back home. It seemed like his only choice. At that point, he already knew what a twisted man Eric was.

Then Lacey.

Then the orphanage.

It's all becoming too much and Victor has been contemplating the easy way out of this entire thing.

He glares at the pistol on his counter.

The thought leaves him and he's disgusted with himself more than normal. What would Sasha have him do?

He misses his sister, but her voice ringing in his head is almost enough to convince him she's still there.*

*KNOCK KNOCK*

*Someone is at his door. No one has visited him since this all started. No one he knows is even aware that he lives there.*

*He answers the door. A man in black slacks and a white shirt stands next to a woman matching him only with a skirt.*

"Why hello, sir! We was just comin' along to see if you'd heard the good news about our Lord Jeeeeeeesus?"

"Please, leave." Victor says in his thick, Russian accent.

"Oh, well, brother. Now, I don't think Jeeeeeeeesus would have us just LEAVE. Do you? We's just walkin' 'round these parts and...I tell ya' the LORD steered us right here to this door. He knows what you're goin' through. The LORD sees ya'. He loves ya'. And he don't think ya' need to be goin' through it anymore. 'Specially not alone. You need a family, a community to get PLUGGED inta, ya' unnerstan' me?"

*Victor looks past them. Something about this situation feels off. He notices a black BMW across the street with the window rolled half-way down. He's not sure, but he thinks he notices someone in the backseat, wearing a straw hat. He pushes the man out of his doorway and slams the door shut. Not today. He can't deal with more people like this. Not today.*
