Back in the abandoned warehouse Ronnie O’Rourke is stood with the AK-47 assault rifle in his hand with a smile on his face. He reaches back into the crate and fumbles around again. Eventually he pulls his hand out of the wood chip lifting a grenade out with him... His son Craig takes an uneasy step away, the other men notice and let out a laugh.

Ronnie: Don’t worry Craigy it won’t go of you have to pull the pin out first.

Ronnie smiles and tosses the grenade up in the air towards Craig who panics as the explosive comes looping towards him his eyes close and his head leans back as he reaches his arms out to try and catch the grenade he wasn’t expecting to see flying towards him.

Luckily for Craig his dad’s old friend Jim Danielson’s hand reached out and caught the grenade with the ease of a professional cricketer playing just down the road at Lords. Craig uncovered his face and turned back to the 4 older men who all had smiles on their faces. Craig smiled back at them as they all began to laugh.

Ronnie: Ok so all the hard work and long ours we put in place to ensure the bank job was a success has paid for this nice crate here. It has paid for our futures to not be spent running anymore. We could be free, As long as, this last deal goes to plan as it seems to be so far.

Jim: Are we doing another bank job? I thought the last one was the last one.

Ronnie places the assault rifle back in the crate and signals for one of the guys who had been unloading the truck to take the crate away to the back room. He then walks over to Jim and taps him on the shoulder and continues walking past. Jim, Craig and his other partners follow him across the warehouse towards the cars. Ronnie stops and turns to face the following group.

Ronnie: Just as I said, there are no more bank jobs, in fact we really need to get the banks on our side because with the amount of money we will be receiving we will be need a lot more than one bank account each to be able to load our funds into without causing suspicion., plus there isn’t a bank in the world that we could jack that would hold the type of money we will be receiving from this job.

Ronnie smiles at his partners and tells them all they will be filled in on all the details later as he had to have Craig home before nightfall so he could have his cup of hot chocolate and early night sleep. He was joking of course but with Craig being the youngest in the team he was an easy target for ridicule of this kind.

Ronnie and Craig get into the Silver Mercedes and they pull out of the old abandoned warehouse followed by the other cars of the partners. As the final car leaves one of their workers that had been unloading the truck runs over and shuts down the warehouse roller door.

Introduction to the Job

Ronnie and Jim are sat in the garage owned by the pair as a front to there more underground businesses. Looking out of the office window into the garage Jim Mercedes is sat with a Honda Civic up on the ramp next to it. Craig is under the Civic fitting a new exhaust. Inside the office there is a fridge and a small table where Ronnie and Jim are sat. Jim is just pouring himself and his friend a glass of whisky while listening intently to all Ronnie has to say.

Ronnie: His name is Demitri Nikolovachech, he came to me about six months ago asking if I knew anyone that could get him some goods. Initially I thought he was talking drugs and was going to arrange a meet with him and Dida in Amsterdam however as you know Dida would not have been available for that meet after he got himself killed. It was lucky then that Demitri, he didn’t want drugs at all he wanted…

Jim: Weapons! And this is now why we have a warehouse full of crates of armory.?

Ronnie: Exactly. You see Dimitri didn’t fill in any of the details of his plan and why he required such firepower, but he did show me the sum he was willing to offer the people who were able to provide him with the goods. It was too good to turn down.

Jim: How much?

Ronnie smiles and slides a piece of paper over to Jim who peers down at it. As he read the number written on the paper his mouth dropped and his eyes opened wide. He looked up to Ronnie as if to say “is this a joke”, Ronnie just smiles and nods back.

Ronnie:And he will pay us every penny, just as soon as we invite him to collect the goods.

Jim: What I don’t understand is, where did you get the weapons? We have no contact that can get anywhere near this level of firepower.

Ronnie: Well I had some contacts back in Ireland that assisted me in the sourcing of the goods.

Jim: I.R.A?

Ronnie:: Yes. One of my old friends had found his way into all that business. I didn’t want to use the I.R.A but with the money at stake he was the only option we had.

Jim: Ok, so what do we need to do now?

Ronnie: We need to invite Dimitri to collect his goods, then we can take the payment and live happily ever after and be free. So first we need to arrange a new temporary location to house the goods for collection, I do not want Dimitri anywhere near any of our warehouse. One we have that sorted we can give Dimitri a call and invite him out for dinner.

Jim: Dinner, why?

Ronnie:The three of us must not be involved in the actual passing over of the goods, it’s too risky. We will go out to dinner, a busy restaurant in full view of hundreds of witnesses. The location with the goods will be left open, we will have a car parked in eye shot ensuring everything is as it should be. Dimitri’s men will arrive and enter the building, they will collect the goods which we will have waiting in an unmarked transit they will take the transit van and the stock and leave. Our men in the car will approach confirm all is in order in the building and lock up confirming with us that the collection has taken place. We will then advise Dimitri over dinner that his men have made the collection at which point he will contact his men to confirm all is well and that we have kept our end of the deal. Upon that confirmation of receipt of stock from his guys he will make the payment which will be split into a number of off shore bank accounts which I will be setting up over the next day or two.

Jim: Sounds like you have it all worked out.

Ronnie: I do and Dimitri has agreed the plan, what we need now is to get the wheels rolling. I need to find us the place to make the swap, I’m sure you know the kind of place required for a job like this.

Jim: I’ll get on it right away.

Ronnie: Ok good I am going to start sorting the bank accounts, we need to ensure they are open and ready to take the transfers immediately. We can risk losing the goods and the cash because we asked Dmitri to wait for the accounts to be ready, he would just disappear taking the weapons with him.

The two men continue to talk over their plans of action whilst finishing their glasses of Whisky. Eventually Jim gets to his feet and walks out of the office and into the garage he taps Craig on the shoulder just as the young mechanic was lowering the ramp holding the Honda Civic. Ronnie remained in the office for a few minutes before getting to his feet and heading out into the garage to see his son. Jim had left by this point and Craig was washing the oil off his hands.

Ronnie: How did it go?

Craig: What the car? It went fine, I have changed an exhaust before.

Ronnie: I know you have son, I forget your growing up so fast.

Criag: Have you spoken to Jim about the job?

Ronnie: Yes it is all sorted, I want you to sit out of this one Craig, it has the potential to get messy, and I don’t want you around that.

Craig looks disappointed as he finished drying his hands off on an oil covered towel.

Craig: What, that’s bullshit dad, I could be a help to this job, more so than any of them other idiots we have working for us.

Ronnie: Calm down son, I’m just looking out for you. I’ll tell you what. You can sit in the car watching to make sure the collection takes place correctly. I am not having you involved anymore than that. And when Derick and Joe head over to confirm all is ok and lock the place up you remain in the car. OK?

Craig nods and agrees to his father’s terms as the scene fades.
