OOC: I have been slammed with work this week guys, but I wanted to get this up. Part 2 will be in the same setting with a lot more detail. Sorry if this is a bit short/vague but its all I had time for.
The television was grainy, but the picture was still clear. Fighting. Cage fighting. But not the pussy Americanized cage fighting, this was a fight to the death. The Caribbean did things so much better. They did things the right way. The lights in the room were off, and the dusk sky was barely illuminating the room. The camer panned out to a drink sitting on a coaster atop a wooden table. Next to it was a bowl of empanadas. A tanned hand came down and the ring encircling one of the fingers clinked on the glass as the hand picked it up, bringing it off screen. There was a slurp sound followed by an "ahhh" off screen before the glass was set back down on the coaster. The camera followed the arm, covered by a dress shirt, all the way up to the chest and the neck before the sound of a bell made the camera jerk. It shot back to the grainy television.
There were two men circling each other, jumping and trying to pump themselves up. Then, they locked up.
The crowd at the event was roaring. The two men traded blows in the cage until they locked up again, one man sweeping the other down with a leg. He was instantly on top of the man, raining down punches. There was some blood beginning to show, and the crowd was roaring even louder.
These weren't sanctioned fights. This wasn't MMA, wasn't commercialized Dominican fighters like Alex Garcia and Julio Paulino. Whoever lost this fight would be leaving in a body bag.
Just the way it should be.
The men flipped position, the other was on top now. He was trying to lock in a choke hold.
The camera panned around the house. It was made of wood mostly, with all of the cabinetry and the floors all comprised of wood. There were several plaques on the wall, some of them had title belts in them, some of them had MMA and boxing gloves. Some of the plaques were blank, as if they were awaiting something to be put inside.
There was a name on the wall.........Carlo Fernando. It seemed to be written in gold. The camera panned more around the house, as if the camera man were walking around the premises. One of the rooms looked to be a bedroom, but it was in total disarray. There was a bed, still in the frame, that appeared to be flipped over. Clothes were on the floor and the remnants of a snow globe, or some sort of glass figure, was broken all over the floor. There were clear signs of struggle in the room. Almost as if someone was forcibly taken out of the room.
Just then, the camera left the room and walked back down the hall, each floor panel of the wooden floor creaking more and more underneath each step. Back into what could only be the living room, where the television was, the two men sat in their respective corners, each one looking pretty beaten up.
The announcer was on the mic, talking about the match.
The Following Dialogue is in Spanish, This Is The Translation:
"The second round is upcoming. In recent fights, the second round has been the most brutal. Most of these men don't make it to the third and deciding round! One of these two men needs to take control of this fight right here, because if it goes to the third round we may see a draw, and we all know what happens then!
Again we thank you for watching Santo Domingo Cage Wars, and buying this special event! All of you make this possible and we couldn't be here without you!
The ref has cleared both men to continue, but for how much longer will be the question!"
The bell rang to signal both men out of the corner.
This was the second round, the all important second round. The camera now panned up to the man who was sitting on the couch watching this brutal bout. It was Hanari Carnes.
But where was he?
The two men charged each other, fighting with re-newed vigor as the blood flew. Hanari reached into his shirt pocket and pulled out a wad of American dollars. He set it on the table and picked his drink back up. It was clear he had big money on this underground fight.
As the round went on, it was clear who the winner was going to be, and it was not Carlo Fernando.
One strike.
Two.
Blood flew.
A rear back.
A third big strike, and the man was down. The ref stepped in, not to stop the fight but to check the pulse. Apparently, there wasn't one because he stopped the fight and waved on the coroner team. Men in white suits flooded the ring. Hanari slapped the table in celebration. He got up off the couch and walked into the kitchen where there was a bag sitting on the counter. He pulled out a plaque that said HANARI CARNES. Walking out to the room with the rest of the hung up plaques and slid it into the available spot.
Hanari had just acquired a dead man's house........all because he bet on the second round...........
Sitting down in the chair, facing the camera, he had a smirk on his face.

"It feel so good to be back on de winning side of things, mang. Hanari will admit, he has had a rough time since his return. A few losses in matches dat he could have win, and was oh so close. But et was no in de cards, so Hanari had to jus' swallow de pill and work to get better. Ring rust? Sure, if dat help chu sleep at night, we call it dat. Hanari no look at et dat way, chico. Hanari look at dem as warmups mang. As preparation matches to get him ready for bigger and better things. Hanari es not de type to demand a title match without feelin like he earned it, so when Hanari and Missa Justice raise those tag belts high over our heads.....den Hanari has a reason to gripe. Apex es de goal, and dey have been. Dis is a long tournament, and we have to be ready each an' every night. No matter who de opponents be, dey can sneak up and shock someone. Chu could be as ready as chu can be, and chu can lose. Hanari knows dis, so Hanari es sleeping on nobody. He es comin' to Dallas to win, mang, but he es also coming to Dallas to prove a point. Los coleccionistas de brazos, De Arm Collectors, we are de real deal. Dat es one thing Hanari love about de XWF mang. De talent level es insane, and chu have to go out an earn everything' chu get. Hanari and Steve es going to earn it dis week, chico, believe dat.
Dis is a story dat should be written into los libros de historia. Rags to riches, mang. De story of Hanari Carnes, who is competing in only his eleventh match en XWF an already has been Campeon de television once an' within a second of being de Hart. Hanari story es jus beginning, and chu better get cha pens ready! Hanari feel blessed to be able to come out and compete every night, to be able to travel de world, to be able to be on de biggest wrestling stage der es, mang. It no get bigger den de XWF. But as flashy as Hanari has been known to be at home, he es taking a different approach here. He es sitting back, watching from de distance. Watching as de wrestling world revolves aroun' him, pickin his time to strike. XWF es a place where chu can have every opportunity in de world, but if chu don't pick ya spot properly chu will be buried. De talent is jus' too good. Dat es why dis match mean so much, despite de opponents dis week not really being household names. A loss in dis match will crush de hopes and dreams Hanari and Steve have of facing de pinnacle of tag team wrestling, a tyrannical dictatorship ruling over de wrestling world. Hanari and Steve are going to be de ones to de-throne Apex, but dese are de matches dat need to be won. That es why Hanari es coming in laser focused, and seeing Apex in every opponent we face.
Every arm we break.
Chu see, Hanari es a special breed. Believe it or not, but Hanari es destined for greatness. He es a survivor, and he doesn't know the word quit. Mos' importantly, he know how importan' the second round es. He know that a win here will open de door, get on a roll, will make the road to de finals that much easier. Anyone can win a firs' roun' match, but to win two in a row.....dat is how momentum es built. That es what makes the other competitors in de tournament begin to sweat, begin to get nervous, and begin to recognize. It make de other competitors open dey eyes. A win in round one es good, but round two is important. It means chu es here to stay, that chu actually has a chance in dis thing. Hanari knows how important momentum es, and when he locks in Viva La Repulic and feels dat arm snap......he know Apex will be watching.
Savage es a show Hanari es comfortable on as well. It es a show he has been successful on, and a show dat he feels like he competes de best on. MDK & Bill Blakk have no idea what dey are walking into. Dis es round 2, and for dem it es de final round. Game over.
Viva el dominicano!
Viva el Savage!
Viva el Hanari Carnes!
