Mastermind had arrived a few days early to prepare for his upcoming Saturday Night Match against Lux, for the coverted XWF Television Championship. Lux had defended it 6 times and kept it.

This would be Mastermind's 100th career match in the XWF, and so Lux weighed in on that fact and granted Mastermind a title opportunity. She must have thought she was appeasing Mastermind, but to Mastermind himself, he thought Lux had made the biggest mistake of her title reign, because out of anyone who wanted the Television Title the most, it was him, as he would do anything to get his hands back on the title.

It was in his first reign as TV champion that he held onto it as long as he could and became just the 4th person to break 100 days, and became the 2nd longest reign of all time at 129 days. To some he was lucky to make it that far as he received help from Management after several incidents that he was surrounded by ended in controversey. But to Mastermind that was just part and parcel of a defending champion. Controversies always surround good champions.

Now as was previous mentioned, Mastermind arrived in Fargo, a few days earlier than he would for any other match lately as he needed to focus pretty hard out for one of his biggest matches since March Madness, where against all odds and using the motivation of New Zealand's first ever terrorist attack, won a triple threat match to win the X-treme Championship. He lost it not too long afterwards but held out for as long as he could without a normal match before losing it on his first official defense. To him that was embarrassing, and he wanted to make up for it.

So as soon as he had arrived in Fargo, he first found himself a place to stay before going to the Metro Flex Gym and hired the whole complex out for himself and his helpers so he could solely focus on what he needed to do, privately, without anyone else publicay watching.

For over three straight days Mastermind focused on his training behind closed doors, only stopping fir sleep and to eat, but most of it was pure sweat, and blood, and tears. The tears were from his trainers who often he took things out on.

When he felt he was ready, he decided he was ready to do his last promo. He set up a ring in the middle of the gym, inside he set up a desk with a couple of books on it, and he had a replica of his thinking chair that he had back in New Zealand. He placed it inside the ring, beside the desk.

He got inside the ring, and sat down on his seat. He got confortable and turned his chair around away from the camera to get a better effect. He put his hand up to signal he was ready, and so as he went live to the XWF Universe, his aide countered him in........

"While I'm working my ass off training for my shot at reclaiming the XWF Television championship, my opponent is off attending kid parties, playing 'let's find the drunk magician,' and pulling strings to show why she was there in the first place. This just goes to show where her 'mind' set is. She's thinking 'oh because it's Mastermind's 100th match, I'll throw him a bone, but all along I know he'll be too easy so I'll just attend parties that no one really wants me at, because no one every threw me a party for!' Am I close Lux? You see me as just another notch on your championship belt just like all of the others have been?

"Well guess what Lux, they are not me, and I am definitely not like them at all, because Lux, I am Mastermind, the worse person you could ever 'throw a bone to,'' because unlike them......I AM YOUR WORST ENEMY,"

Mastermind turned his chair around to face the camera, but he doesn't look into the camera but instead looks at the ground, deep in thought.

"Before we carry on, I'd like to comment about what you said about my little guessing game about what stipulation I wanted. No I have not been watching any of your last few matches because you aren't the end all be all of the XWF. There's other stuff and other matches going on. My favorite stipulation is Submission Match as well. I am well aware of what you are capable of doing, and like I said what you have done lately that's on you. I certainly don't care. I know I can make you submit. I WILL BE Making you submit you can guarantee that.

"Don't forget who you are playing 'mind games' with, but maybe you do and you just don't care. Well Lux, you should care, because I'm about to take you to school."

Mastermind looks up and looks straight into the camera.

"I'm sure you have heard the story about the Tortoise and the Hare. Let me tell you another version of this great story. I'll give you a minute to sit right back and wait right there and relax...."

Mastermind turns his chair to the table and picks up the first book. He places it on his lap and turns his chair to face the camera.

"We need to go right back to the start to set the scene. Some of you might be wondering 'wait the story is only about the Tortoise and the Hare.' Well tecnically that's teue but there is more that no one else knows about. So let me begin.....

"There once was a time in the big open forest we know as the circle of life that at one stage the main draw card getting top flight television exposure was a Snake called Donovan,"

Mastermind showed the camera the photo in the book of Donovan the snake.

"A few animals tried to come along and displace him but ge would always eat them up and spit them out and continue on as normal.

"Then one day along comes Lux the Hare,"

Mastermind turned the page to show Lux the Hare.

"Now Lux was such a vain hare she wanted all the attention for herself, and she was jealous of Donovan. So she challenged him and amazingly won, becoming top animal and because of this was given top billing on t.v.

"As a result Donovan the Snake was beaten to a bloody pulp and never seen on t.v again, oh what a sad way to go...."

Mastermind let off a smirk.

"So now that Lux the Hare was on top of the heap and basking in the glow of television fame.

"But over the course of the next few weeks animals came to try and knock Lux the Hare from her vainy top spot.

"There was BWP the Pig or his full name... Bearded War Pig..."

Mastermind turned the page to show BWP the Pig.

"Then came Destiny The Tigress. Everyone thought A Tiger could outgun a hare, boy were they wrong,"

"Then came the Big Baboon BIGD..... Even though the Baboon was big and powerful he couldn't match Lux the Hare for speed and pace and well that didn't end good,"

"Then along came Kangaroo Boston Bruiser. Even though he was prepared for a fight once again Lux the Hare prevaled. She certainly wasn't willing to let go of her top billing by shadow boxing with a Kangaroo,"

Mastermind then turned to another page.

"By now Lux the Hare was not only using her speed to keep in control of top billing on t.v but she also started being a bully.

"Along came El Tiburon the Monkey. Not as big as BigD the Baboon, but as nimble and flighty as a Spider Monkey."

"But Lux The Hare was able to bully El Tiburon to a loss, and well that was that.

"The last animal to come along to challenge Lux the Hare, was a wild rabid dog named Zane. Zane the Rabid dog took the challenge as best he could...."

"Zane the rabid dog was confident enough in his abilities of beating Lux the Hare but it didn't turn out that way as Lux the Hare literally ran rings around Zane the rabid dog and even bullied him into a bloody mess.

"Such was Lux the Hare's dominance, cruelty, and victimization, that all the animals around the forest knew well enough to leave her alone, to give her all the space, and let her be vain enough to stay atop the heap and let her have all the tv exposure she craved...

"But then things changed..."

Mastermind smirks as he turned the page of the book.

"Even though she wad getting all of the exposure none of the other animals were giving her any attention at all, and she hated that. So she decided she would make an example out of one of them to prove a point.

"So out of all the animals who did she choose as her next target? Mastermind the Tortoise of course."

"Now Mastermind the tortoise was just going about his day minding his own business, when Lux the Hare came speeding up to him and challenged him to a race to prove who was the best.

"At first Mastermind the Tortoise laughed off the challenge because he was slow, old, and knew hhi limitations and said no. But Lux the Hare kept up the pressure by bullying him... saying he always did the same old thing.... he was not scary, he was a joke, he would never amount to anything better than average, and he would need a make over in order to be semi popular......

"Now Mastermind the Tortoise knew he was none of those things. He knew he was old and slow... he never doubted that....

"But what he did take offense to was being told that he did the same old thing, he wasn't scary, he was a joke, he would never amount to being more than average, and that he needs a make over.

"His response: 'sometimes doing the same thing meant staying original and not conforming to what everyone was doing or wanted you to be. He was his own Tortoise, and he will continue to be.

"He didn't always want to be scary either, sometimes it worked, other times it didn't work and that was okay. It would often be too much energy so he needed to save it for special times.

"He took himself seriously all the time so to be told he was a joke came as a surprise because he didn't feel funny enough to make people laugh.

"He didn't care whether he was average or not because sometimes that meant falling under the radar, and that would mean surprising a lot of people when the time came. He was okay with that......

"And as for the comment that he needed a make over, he felt that it was always about staying original with oneself and not being forced to conform with everyone else.

"So Mastermind the Tortoise once again said no but Lux the Hare continued to be a domineering bitch and eventually Mastermind the Tortoise had no choice but to accept,"

Mastermind sat forward in his chair and sternly looked into the camera.

"Am I boring you, Lux? Are you able to keep up? Do you even want to keep up? Well tough shit, you have to because this IS for YOUR venefit and there maybe a test at the end for you to take. But anyway let's continue for the sake of my viewers who are already engrossed in this wonderful story."

Mastermind sits back in his chair and turns the page of his book to show the next page.

"Both Lux the Hare and Mastermind the Tortoise went to the starting line.

"Nearby Atticus the Hunter had been roaming through the forest when he spotted a dear. He aimed his gun at it and fired.

"The shot reverberated around the forest within an instant, so Lux the Hare and Mastermind the Tortoise used this as the start for their race and away they went....

"The length of the race was 1 full lap around the forest. It would take larger animals at least 30 minutes while for smaller animals it would take 4 hours for a lap.

"Naturally Lux the Hare wanted to break the record and if it wasn't for her over confidence, she would have smashed it by at least 20 minutes. In fact she was mere metres away from finishing when she turned around and ran back to where Mastermind the Tortoise was which was only a foot or two after the start, Lux the Hare would have seen had she cared.

"Over the next 24 hours, Lux the Hare used all of her energy in running from Mastermind the Tortoise and metres of the finish line before always turning around and runnong back to Mastermind the Tortoise....

"Every time she got back to him she would berate him and tell him how useless he was, just the normal verbal abuse. And each time unbeknownst to her she would come and go much slower and the final time after berating Mastermind the Tortoise who now had half the race to go, she was really tired. So she left him and went somewhere and decided to have a rest, but she fell asleep."

"Mastermind the Tortoise kept on going and passed Lux the Hare, and when she woke up, he was just getting to the finishing line, she sped off only to find Mastermind the Tortoise walking over the finish line. She was so irate that she demanded a rematch but all the other animals came out to support Mastermind the Tortoise and said it had been a fair race. Now Mastermind the Tortoise was now Top of the Pops and the number one animal on Prime Time. Who would have thought?"

Mastermind started chuckling then he looks back at the camera seriously.

"So what did we learn from all of that peoples?"

Mastermind turned to the last page of the book to find bullet points.

Never underestimate your opponent
One should never stop being original because we can never all conform to everyone else
Show some respect
You think I'm boring because I'm original but if I conform won't that be boring?
I know I'm not boring because I am Original
You may enjoy verbal bashing but when does verbal bashing cross the line?
You think you may have it all but what happens when you wind up with nothing?
Thinking faster isn't necessarily the best trait.
Being top of the mountain only gives you one place to go, to the bottom. While climbing the mountain only gets you two places. Top or Bottom.
You waste too much oxygen thinking of negative things to say - you do it often - give yourself a break

Mastermind closes the first book and places it back on the table, and goes to grab the second book. But he looks back at the camera.

"We learned a lot today didn't we? I'm sure you have learned a lot about yourself too Lux..... I did have a second book to read out, but we all know times moving on fast. The book is called David and Goliath. We all know what happens in that. David topples Goliath.

"Anyway I had Lux as Goliath and myself as David. And that says it all really as I am coming for that Television title."

And with that Mastermind signals to the camera and as the camera is fading out....

"See you soon, Lux..... See you very soon."
