129 DAYS

For 129 Days I had it all.

I was XWF Television Champion

I was on top of the world. My world.

I was stopping challengers in their wake.

I became the 4th Person to break 100 days as Television Champion.

I made it to 2nd Place on the All Time List of Television Champion Longest Reigns.

And then my world came crashing down.

Saturday Night Savage - 2/2/19 Said:Both men are in the center of the ring, exchanging blows. Finally Hanari is able to get Mastermind into the corner. He charges, but the champ moves and Hanari goes head first into the turnbuckle, and Mastermind rolls him up into what looked like a pin but.......Oh my god! Mind Controller!

Mastermind has it locked it in!

Hanari is in dire straights here and the timer is under 3 minutes!

Hanari is reaching for the ropes......again he is short. Mastermind sits down in the hold, adding torque.

Hanari holds his hand up....the ref asks if he is going to tap. Hanari yells no, but the look on his face shows he might be close. Just when it looks like Hanari is about to tap, he reaches one last time, using a final burst, and grabs the ropes. He then twists and uses his legs to shove Mastermind off.

Mastermind falls into the corner. Hanari lifts himself up. Using the last of his strength he propels himself forward. He hits his Step Up Enzuigiri Move, The Punta Cana Kick!

Mastermind wobbles out of the corner.

Hanari has the arm.....

Viva la Republic!

He's got it locked in! He's pulling! Mastermind is resisting. The clock is inside 30 seconds.

Hanari keeps pulling. Mastermind is trying to punch his arm off.

Just then Hanari aches his back into a bridge, while holding on. A pop sound comes from inside the ring.

HE BROKE HIS ARM! HANARI JUST BROKE MASTERMINDS ARM! The champ taps!

HANARI DID IT!

HERE IS YOUR WINNER, AND NEEEEEEEEEWWWWWWWWWWWWW XWF TELEVISION CHAMPION! HANARI CARNES!!!!!!!

And after all that I get my arm broken.

As I sat there in the locker room after the fight, getting my arm put into a cast by the medics, I receive a call from my wife Maria.

"I love you Babe.
You've done a great job.
But you need a break.
You need to be with your family.
It's time to come home."

It's time to go home....... time to go home...... go home..... go home.... home...... HOME.

And so home I went to spend much need quality time with my family. My wife Maria, my two twin boys Vinnie and Jacob and newly arrived twin daughters Louise and Bernadette.

I spent a couple of weeks recovering, just by being amongst my family and recovering around them with my broken arm, and then I knew it was time to get serious again.

Previously

With Mastermind's early career in tatters due to egos from senior members of the NZWF or New Zealand Wrestling Federation, causing injuries to him, and his last injury being that of a serious concussion, Mastermind had to find a way to kick start his career.

Before he did that he met his future wife Maria, started dating her, and started working for her father Markus as a Stock Trader. This allowed him to find the money that he needed to get to Australia and Japan and work his way back into wrestling.

Now after a hard fought decision of having to leave his developing relationship back in New Zealand he headed to Australia, where thanks to Markus hooked him up with an old contact in the AWF. The Australian Wrestling Federation. The legend that is Outback Jack.

Outback Jack met him at Sydney Airport and they became acquainted. Mastermind was told that Outback Jack would train him but it was going to be very serious, very tough and very hard training. Mastermind agreed to it, as this is what he wanted.

And so the continuation:

SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA

OUTSKIRTS OF SYDNEY - FARMLAND

The travel from the Sydney Airport to the outskirts of Sydney, Australia took over 2 hours considering that they were going into the middle of no where, and as they approached the farm house Mastermind could see another building that looked like a gym.

"Can I ask a question?"

The travel had been in silence as Mastermind was contemplating his next stage of his career.

"Now he talks. You've finished with your contemplation?"

Mastermind smirked.

"I wasn't sure if we were going to be speaking, so I thought I better focus my attention on what's about to happen."

"You see that's what I like about you kid, you know what's happening, you're prepared to listen, but you're also prepared to think about what's happening two or three steps ahead. No wonder the old farts over in New Zealand hated you. You showed them up."

"Thanks for pointing that out."

Outback Jack laughed, then got serious again.

"Go ahead ask your question."

"Where the hell are we?"

Outback Jack pulled to a stop outside the farm house and got out. He looked back inside the car at Mastermind.

"This is where you are going to be training for the forseeable future. I'm not sure how long yet, as I need to find out where you are up to and how much you can handle. I have been told that you've just come off a 4 to 5 month lay off with concussion."

"That's right. But I know I can handle myself."

"That's what got you into trouble in the first place. No I have been to asked to help you, so we are going to do this my way. The Outback Jack way. And what I say goes."

"I understand that."

"Then get the hell out of there."

Outback Jack slammed the door shut and headed for the farm house. Mastermind got out of the vehicle, and grabbed his gear and followed.

Mastermind walked into the farm house, to see a table set with food. It looked like it had just been put out, and people were sitting down to eat. They looked like trainees.

Mastermind looked over to see Outback Jack talking to a bald headed man. They both looked his way.

"Can I take your bags sir?" came a female voice

Mastermind turned to see a young girl who looked around about 18, standing next to him.

"Hi I'm Zana. I'm Outback Jack's daughter."

"Wow, okay. Do you know your Dad's a legend?"

"Of course I know that Dad's a legend. I grew up on the road with him. I'm training to get into the business."

"Wow okay."

"Mastermind," boomed Outback Jack's voice which made Mastermind jump "Give the girl your bags, and get over here."

Zana laughed.

"He may seem all rough and scary, but once he learns to trust you, he'll calm down."

Mastermind just nods, and gives Zana his bags, and walks over to where Outback Jack is with the bald headed stranger.

"Are you hungry kid?"

Mastermind looks at the table.

"Now that you mentioned it....."

"You haven't earned the right to eat yet kid. You have some training to do before you earn that right. This here is Xavier. He's the Athletic Trainer around here."

Mastermind held out his hand.

"Athletics okay.... Nice to meet you Mr Xavier."

Xavier looked at Mastermind's outstretched hand and shook his head and walked off towards the door.

"I don't think he likes you."

"He's not going to like you if you don't follow him. Go on."

Mastermind looked confusedly at Outback Jack, and then at the back of Xavier, and decided that he had to do what he was told. He hurried off after Xavier.

Xavier was waiting outside when Mastermind walked up.

"Do you see the football field out there, kid?"

Mastermind looked over in the direction of the farm that Xavier was pointing to.

"Yes sir."

"Then in order to have a feed I want you to run 10 laps. Got that?"

"Ten laps in this heat?"

"Should I walk back inside and tell Jack not to bother training you, kid? Because you are wasting my time now, and your eating time."

"No... no.... I can do this. 10 laps you say?"

"I changed my mind. 20 laps."

Mastermind was about to open his mouth to complain when he thought better of it. He gave Xavier a small nod and started walking towards the football field. Then he thought better of that, and started running. He then guessed his training had begun.

PRESENT DAY

WELLINGTON, NEW ZEALAND

MASTERMIND'S MANSION

The camera's fade in to Mastermind's victory t-shirt room.

Mastermind is seen walking down the victory t-shirt line. He notices the camera.

"It's been so long since I've been in here, as I have been on the road defending the Television Championship that I now don't have mostly on Saturday Night Savage and occasionally on Wednesday Night Warfare.

"It's been nearly a month since I last stepped foot into the ring. It's been nearly a month since I lost the Television Championship."

Mastermind gets to the end of the Victory T-Shirt line, and looks at the last shirt that he had placed on it.

Mastermind smirks at the camera.

"It's kinda ironic now, that this t-shirt was the last I placed here before I went on my mini tour of the states. Kid Kool. I bet him when I needed to the most which involved a triple threat match with the Miz. The Miz hasn't been seen for a while yet Kid Kool thinks he can turn up and try and get a win. We shall see.

"Kid Kool is my first opponent in the knockout rounds of the King of the Ring Tournament, and if he thinks he can come along and beat a guy who has just lost the Television Belt, then he can think again. I'm hurting. I'm ready for my return. And I'm ready to take Kid Kool to the cleaners and hang him out to dry for a second time."

Mastermind starts chuckling. He then moves on and places the next shirt after Kid Kool's.

"How appropriate is this one being placed alongside Kid Kool. Not only will I put Kid Kool out for a second time, I will certainly break him and continue to make him think, that he, cannot beat the Master of Minds. And he WILL NOT beat me, because I will make damn sure of that."

Mastermind walks to the next vacant area, and pegs another t-shirt up.

"We haven't seen Dax Harris since, but something tells me we'll see more of Kid Kool. Or will we? Are you up for the challenge of trying to beat me Kid? Are you up for the challenge of trying to make a name for yourself, and how many more times will you hang around if you can't. You are just like Dax. Here one minute, gone the next. Just prove me wrong."

Mastermind gets to his final vacant area and places another shirt on the line.

Mastermind starts laughing but then stops.

"These last few t-shirts that I've placed up since I have come back have a theme to it. That of Kid Kool trying to beat me when he doesn't have a chance.

"Come on Kid be realistic. The great Peter Gilmour who can only beat me when he's a part of a team, can't even beat me in a singles match. Twice now. What makes you think you can beat me on a second chance? You don't have a chance at all my friend. I've got your number, and your number is number 2."

Mastermind starts laughing again and then he stops.

"I've got your number because I've always had your number. Because I am the Master of Minds, and I have control of your mind. If you think otherwise great, come and prove me wrong.

"I've got hosting duties to prepare for here at my house for Wednesday Night Warfare, plus Special referees duties. I see you are part of the card and I'd just like to wish you well. Then I will see you in New York, for the first round of the King of the Ring Tournament, a tournament that you won't continue in, and yet I will. How do you like them apples?

"Enjoy your New Zealand trip, especially my lovely mansion, because when it comes to New York, that will be when your road ends. For a second time."

Mastermind smirks, and then nods at the camera. The camera fades out.
