Last week I told you all the story of how I first met Maria. It was after yet another injury during my early years in the New Zealand wrestling scene.

From being injured to having Maria herself helping out to look after me to meeting with her father about a job that could set me up should wrestling back fire for me.

This week I'll continue the story of my early days with Maria and how I also became rich where I could afford a mansion and a private jet to name a few.

1996
Dunedin

Mastermind had returned to his home away from home to recuperate after his latest injury setback.

He had been talking to Maria on the phone and she had set up a meeting with him and her father Markus who hired him just to get him help, starting out.

David then went on his coffee lunch date with Maria before returning to Markus's office.

Markus walked in with a few files and placed them in front of Mastermind.

"How was lunch?" asked Markus

"It was good thank you," replied Mastermind looking at the files

"Did you have a good chat with my daughter?"

"Yes sir I did,"

"Did I mention she likes you?"

Mastermind smiled "Yes sir a couple of times. Your wife doesnt like the idea of her talking to me because I'm grouped with the damaged wrestler reputation which I assure you I'm not."

"That's good to know, I'll try reassuring my wife that."

"I won't hold my breath sir. She's already made up her mind and I don't begrudge her that."

Markus smiled "Glad to know that she's not going to intimidate you, shall we get started?"

"Yes sir."

"The files in front of you are what I called 24 hour files. The stock that you want to invest in for only 24 hours before pulling out what you made. It's guaranteed to get you moving where you need to be moving to. Upwards."

"Okay," Mastermind replied

"Also in there is a start up account of $100,000 that's all yours. You can pay me back once you feel you have the clearance to pay me back. I dont want to hear any 'but sir I have my own money I don't want you to waste yours on me.' Like I said it's a start up account and you pay me back whenever."

"Okay."

'Choose the top 5 files that you want to invest in and then I'll showyou how to invest it. But your job tomorriw is choose a time within the 24 hours to get the stock out. If its over 24 hours the money is mine and what you lose you pay back on top of the $100,000. Got that?"

"Yes sir."

"Follow me and I'll show you to your office."

Mastermind got up and followed Markus out of his office and down the corridor, passed other offices to a smaller office.

"This is yours for however long you stay above the line. Now I'll show you how to invest."

For the next ten minutes Markus showed Mastermind how to invest in stock and to keep an eye on it. Mastermind then said he knew how to do it and Markus left the office for Mastermind to choose the next 5 stock investments.

Ge then inputted them into the computer and watch his money go live.

For the next two hours he watched in horror as all 5 stock investments took a dive before stabilizing on the end bell of the NZ stock exchange.

Markus walked into the office, and looked at Mastermind.

"Thoughts?"

"They took a dive from the moment I invested in them, and then they came to normal before the closing bell."

"Thoughts about tomorrow at the opening bell?"

"I predict from what I just saw, they are going to dive again before coming right, and may just peak upwards before my 24 hours is up."

"Right, and then you need to decide which is the right time to sell them."

"It's going to be close."

"Go home get some rest, it's going to be an exciting day tomorrow."

"Yes sir."

Markus left the room, and headed home, but Mastermind stayed put and decided because of his love of stats to look into the history of the stocks, and make sure when would be the right time to sell.

He focused too hard on the stats because he missed a couple of calls from Maria, and before he realized he had stayed the whole night. He didn't realize what he had done until Markus returned.

"'M' have you been here the whole night?"

Mastermind looked around from his stats "Huh?"

"I said have you been here the whole night?"

"What time is it?"

"7.30 a.m."

"Wow I guess I did. I was doing research."

"Well whatever you did, you need to explain to Maria, she's been trying to call you, and reckons its my fault that I kept you away from the phone."

"I'll call her back."

"Make sure you do. Has the research proved fruitful?"

"We shall see when I decide what the right time to sell them is."

"Good luck. Opening bell is in an hour and a half. Ring Maria before then."

"Yes sir."

Markus left the room. Mastermind picked up his phone and dialed a number.

"Hello...." came a tired voice

"Maria, it's me."

"'M' are you okay?"

"Yes I'm fine, I just got caught up with doing some research last night, which involved stats which I really love, and before I knew it, it was morning."

"Are you still at work?"

"Yes."

"Damn..... That's commitment for you."

"I would like to take you on a date."

"You can't afford a date."

"Depending on what happens this afternoon, I can afford one."

"Let's see what this afternoon brings, and then tell me, and then I'll make up my mind. Don't get ahead of yourself."

"I'm sorry about not calling you back last night."

"Well at least you have now. I forgive you. Listen I need to go. Good luck for whatever your doing today. I'll ring you this afternoon."

"Okay."

And with that Maria hung up. Mastermind went back to what he was doing.

CURRENT DAY

PRIVATE HOTEL ROOM

The camera fades in to the Private Hotel Room of Mastermind as he's on his next stop to the next Saturday Night Savage where he defends his title against Dax Harris.

He is pacing backwards and forwards and his shoulder is bandaged up and so is his chest. He spots the camera and stops pacing.

"The last two weeks has been hell raising. I have defended my Television title to hell and back. I have suffered injuries along the way and still I keep winning, and still I keep defending. Albeit two weeks ago when I drew against my arch nemesis Donovan Blackwater. I was lucky to escape that match.

"I was also lucky to escape my latest match against Broken Oswald. He really wanted the title but I wanted it more.

"Now this Saturday like I said I come up against a relative newcomer Dax Harris.

"Dax, you think you have a chance of beating me then think again. No don't think. Just come a long and try. But you won't be beating me. Why? Because I'll continue to be Television Champion."

Mastermind walked over to the bed and picked up the Television Title and looked at it.

"I've just passed Chris Chaos into 3rd on the all time length of holding the Television Belt in one reign. 119 days. He held it for 118. See ya later Chris.

"I'm 7 days away from 2nd place of 126 days and that's Neville Sinclair. And that is why you won't be winning the Television Title, this one here, Dax, because my focus is more measured, and more controlling, and I want to win more. I want that 2nd place. By the time you and I meet. I'll be 4 days closer to Neville. Then I will go into Wednesday Night Feud where I will meet Peter, and become 2nd.

"But first, I have to focus on Dax. Are you focused on me? I don't think you are. Because if you were I would have heard something by now. So come on Dax, speak. I dare you. Or just turn up on Saturday and let me beat you down, and teach you a lesson, on how to focus. And who has focused better, and who wants it more.

"Because Dax. I want it more."

Mastermind starts smiling and then laughing as the camera fades out.
