Danny vaguely noticed his belt being handed to Robert Main, not even a single defense. The feeling seemed familiar. His body was on fire, and he was pretty sure he had splinters in places he most definitely hadn’t scrubbed during his showers. He tried to ease himself off the wreckage, but the fiery sensation only doubled as stars danced before his vision. Okay, no, perhaps that wasn’t going to work. Deep breaths Imperial, deep breath and try again. He felt the air drip into his lungs like his windpipe had been reduced to the width of a straw. Oh dear, that might actually be a possibility. One, two… UGH!

He tried once more but his body simply didn’t want to cooperate, guess he’ll just have to stare and watch the lights go and the crowd cheer until somebody had the brains to come save him. Or not, he hadn’t been able to move, but subconsciously his body did something else. It was a sweet sound, pure, even between the chokes of blood. Laughter.

”Hahaha…Ack….Huehahahagahahah!”

Time seemed to move quickly, he blinked and everything had gone silent. Something was wound tightly around his neck and he vaguely felt his body being moved. Another blink, and he felt fingers against his palm, pressing down. That sweet sound, it rung out once more, vibrating through his chest. His eyes opened, squinting, looking at the face of a concerned medic. No, not concerned, afraid, at the sound of his laughter.

Fool, he doesn’t understand. Danny leans to his left, and this time his body corporates, rolling off the gurney. The medic scrambles to grab him, but Danny is too heavy for him to catch in time. Danny lands on his knees, his palms out to keep his face from slamming into the ground backstage. The a few medics rush to Danny, their hands covering his limbs.

”Let go of me, none of you understand.”

”Mr Imperial, Sir, you’re horribly injured, and still bleeding, please.”

”Eat me. You don’t get it one bit. I feel… I’ve never felt… I’ve never felt better than I do right now.”

”Mr Imperial, please.”

”Don’t make me threaten you, please, I’m too happy. Oh dear, that was a… threat in itself wasn’t it. Just… Leave me be, doc.’”

Exploding in a fit of giggles, he rolls onto his back, lying on the cold floor as the medic slowly backs away from him in a mixture of fear and bewilderment. They rush off at the lead medic’s command, leaving Danny to revel in his amusement and pleasure.

”It. Was. Perfect”

His consciousness begins to slip, as the warm embrace of...

Dream realm

Danny walks over from him bed through the kitchen and towards his front door, newly bought coffee mug in his hands, a pack of frozen peas to nurse a bruise over his eye in the other. The last assignment was a hectic one, some mother fuckers really don’t know what it means when it’s time.

When it’s time, it’s time.

Just a few steps away from his door, he heard the familiar sound of paper slipping through his mail slot and falling to his carpet. Right on time, as always. Taking another sip of his coffee, Danny reaches down for the single, perfectly white envelope. It contrasted starkly against his jet-black carpet, it was kind of the theme of his apartment now that he thought about it. Black background, white features, two colors, nothing more. Even the pack of peas were completely white. How’d he even know it was peas? Eh, never mind.

With the envelope firmly in his hand, he went over to his couch, also beautifully white and stainless, if you were wondering. Using his teeth to rip a whole into the envelope and spitting it into nothingness, he opens up the envelope. It was always the exact same routine, mail at 7:56 in the morning, single assignment, just a name and a place.

No other details were pertinent to the job really. It was a way to keep emotions and other irrelevant factors out of the situation. The job was all about efficiency, instructions, in, out, another day. You see…

When it’s time, it’s time.

And there was nothing that should be allowed to get in the way of that.

A single sheet of high-quality paper falls out, folded perfectly in half. No name or delivery address, what was going to happen? Here, the postal services made no errors. Unfolding the piece of paper, Imperial’s eyes betray the slightest surprise at the name printed.

”Huh, I almost forgot you even existed. But I guess, time has come, even for you.”

After committing to memory the location to find his next… Client. I guess you’d call them clients, he was serving them really, it was a win, win, win. For time, for Danny for the client. Yup, it was the perfect purpose. Danny nods to himself, folding the paper in half before throwing it over his shoulder.

Easing off the couch, he straightens out the creases in his white shirt and the scrunching up of his pants around his ankles. Looking at his reflection in a mirror, he adjusted his cuffs before reaching for a casual coat. Throwing the coat on, and leaving his top button undone, Danny walks out of the apartment.

A quick knock to the rhythm of S.O.S. He thought it was cute... Ironic almost that that’s the sound one would respond to when they open the door for him. Depending on the client, S.O.S was often all they were thinking about once they realised who was at the door. Danny was a good-looking man though, intimidating, but with a smile that could warm any heart.

Danny was adjusting his attire, making sure everything looked perfect just as the door swung open. A painted face, nice touch, flowing hair reminiscent of rock bands in the eighties, nicer touch... And a stain by the corner of his mouth that smelt uncannily like infant. Purrfect.

“Oh? Who might you be?”

“Don’t worry about me just yet, why don’t you let me in, lets talk.”

“Why don’t you walk away before I eat you!”

“No no, you really don’t want to turn me away... Nobody really turns me away, you know? I don’t suppose you’ve got something other than the blood of infants to drink?”

“How’d you-“

Danny pushes past Unknown Soldier, walking into the quaint apartment. He looks around, sticking out his lip just a little as he takes in the aesthetic of the room. Slightly dusty, but pretty well put together. Framed posters of his matches all over the wall, titles he’s head prominently hung, people he’s... Murdered.

“Not quite what I was expecting Soldy, what’s that smell too... Lavender? I like it.”

Danny makes himself comfortable, propping himself onto the single leather couch in the room. It squeaked as he dropped onto it. Looking around, Danny realises there isn’t really anywhere else to sit in the room.

“You really should invest in some seating, how do you plan on hosting people without seating?”

Danny turns towards the door, where Unknown Soldier is still standing, mouth hanging slightly open, eyes slowly squinting into anger. His fists tighten as it slowly dawns on him that someone is just waltzed into his apartment and made himself at home.

“Oh, I’ve gotten ahead of myself, I guess you really won’t be hosting anyone anytime soon. Can you throw me a beer? And then I guess you should just.... Stand right here or whatever really.”

“Get out before I invoke SATAN himself!”

Danny clicks his tongue, shaking his head in disappointment.

“Hurry up, I’m getting thirsty.”

Danny clicks his fingers, and Unknown Soldier’s fridge rattles, a bottle of heineken appears in his hand, and Unknown feels an odd sensation overwhelm him. His feet move about on their own accord, slowly towards Danny. Finally, the urge leaves him as he finds himself standing in front of Danny, who’s looking at the bottle with disgust but decides to open it anyways.

“Heineken, really? Eh… So, tell me about your life. It’s time to reminisce.”

Unknown snarls at Danny, trying to argue but realising his body won’t just let him.

“Do you need some time to get over the inability to be a bitch? Just give me a holler when you’re done trying.”

Danny fakes a yawn, stretching out his body and chugging the rest of his beer. He chucks it lazily over his shoulder, causing the little bit of beer left to spill out onto the back of the couch. He clicks his finger again, the fridge rattles and yet another bottle of Heineken appears in his hand. His gaze flickers to Unknown, who seems to have realised there was little he could do.

“You might be more intelligent than I gave you credit for. Ready to talk business then? I think you know what this means, so why don’t you get talking. Time is most definitely not something you have to spare.”

“What is it you want?”

“You’ve worshipped Satan for awhile now, what has he told you about death?”

“Oh death and I are good friends, I’ve introduced many to it, six hundred and sixty six to the power of six hundred and sixty-six, ATLEAST!”

“Yes, yes, you’re a murdering, pillaging, raping, desecrating little cretin… But what do YOU know about death?”

“I LOVE IT’S SCEN-”

“Man, aren’t you just a little dull. Well, let me break it down for you. Death and I have a little loose contract. It outsources It’s more difficult duties to me, Danny Imperial. You might’ve seen me on TV and stuff, you know, kicking butt, enjoying pain, the usual. Actually after I learnt about your existence, we’re pretty similar, I just don’t commit too many… Crimes. Or at least, not obviously.

Anyways, back to the point, Death… Isn’t as big a fan of you as you might think.

You see, worlds got a system, Death likes to claim when It likes to claim, It doesn’t particularly appreciate the gates of the Afterlife welcoming those who’s… Time is not quite right. You’ve had quite the history of sending people to It… When it wasn’t their time.

BUT. It did say it would deal with you when It saw you.

I keep getting sidetracked.

What I meant to say is, time’s up.”

Unknown Soldier blinks through the painted face, a look of confusion on his face.

“You actually don’t seem as surprised as I thought you’d be, can’t tell if you’re too dumb to process it or you don’t believe me… Which would be stupid in it’s own right. You’re in your living room, frozen to the ground and I just magicked a beer from your fridge.”

“WHAT DO YOU MEAN MY TIME’S UP!”

“Exactly what I said by it, just because you vanished off the edge of the planet, doesn’t mean we’ve forgotten you. No no, when your time comes, it comes. And it’s come knocking on your door, literally.

I’ve actually used that line on my last five victims, gets me every time.”

Unknown Soldier goes back to trying to resist against the mystical force that’s holding him in place.

“Oh, my dear friend. Usually I like to talk a little about your past successes and failures, point out points in your life that you really are going to suffer for eternity for… But your idiocy bores me, I’m just going to get this over and done with.

The funny thing is, if you haven’t popped back from obscurity to kill Reeve, I have a feeling Death might have forgotten you existed, much like all of us did.

You had your time to shine though, you've got yourself a pretty little wrestling record, a stint at the most exclusive asylum in town, a couple of names to strike off a hit list... Quite the bucket list you've struck of if I might say so myself.

It's a shame that this Satan you've been worshiping doesn't quite like you as much as you think he does. Just like how he hates that Main cunt. But alls well, you'll get to spend plenty of time worshiping his puckered lips! I'm going to give you a beautiful, one way trip into his personal BDSM chamber, so get that booty ready... Or not, he doesn't quite give a shit. HAH. Shit, it's funny cos I'm talking about shitpacker porn. Love it.

You're of ages past though, you know that don't you? I'd ask you to go back into hiding, but you've gone and ruined it all for yourself. Now that you're out and about, shaking that heiny and pretending we still care... You've forced my hand. You're a nuisance who we cannot risk returning, Death [i]really[i] likes it's systems. ”

Danny throws the half empty bottle against the wall, shattering it and spraying a discarded suitcase by the point with disgusting Heineken. Getting up from the couch, he places his hands on either side of Unknown’s face, giving him a smile.

“It’s going to be painless… Physically at least, the thought that I won’t even make you suffer before you die will be a good warm up for the torture you’re about to face. Goodbye Unknown Soldier, you really should have stayed retired.”

Danny licks his lips, twisting.

[BLACK]

Dream End.

Danny’s eyes flutter open, awakening from that odd dream. Even that slight movement causing pain to course through his body. Rolling over to the side was exponentially worse, as the pain of little bits of splintered wood getting driven into his flesh are thrown into the mix. His consciousness wavers, threatening to send him back into slumber, as his lips part ever so slowly, licking the dried blood around his mouth.

Look around, Danny seems to have fallen asleep where he had been left, the euphoria of the pain and the glory of the match following him into the deep realms of sleep. The lights are off, and there’s the faint sound of a roadie screaming at another to lift a box a little bit higher. Danny bares his teeth in a sickening grin, planting his palms firmly on the ground. With a heave, that takes the breath right out of him, he pushes himself onto all fours.

Danny takes a second to catch his breath in that position, before mustering every ounce of energy within him to push himself up to his feet.

”YES! YEEEEEEESSSS! That. That is what I’ve wanted, that’s what I was looking for. To hell with everything else, that is all I’ve been looking for these past few months. Forget every match thus far, not even Leap of Faith brought me that level of…. Pleasure.”

Danny throws his hands in the air, with as much gusto as his pain receptors would allow him. Stretching out his muscles like a cat, an orgasmic moan slips between his lips.

“This pain, I must milk it. This pain, I must cherish it. This…. This….”

Danny’s eyes roll back into his head and he stumbles backwards just a little. His hand shoots out to steady himself against a random equipment box.

“Heh, I’m not getting away with this, am I?”

“Scuse me…?”

Danny ignores the voice completely, pushing himself off the wall, swaying as he stumbles his way down the hall.

“I think you should take a seat.

Danny just giggles to himself, continuing to make his way down the hallway. The faceless voice, makes its way right behind Danny, grabbing at his forearm.

Danny’s arm jerks up, clocking the man in the side of the face. Danny wheels drunkenly on his ankle, wrapping his other hand across the man’s throat and slamming him into the wall of the corridor.

“Yes, sweetheart? Is there something I can do for you?”

The body heaves into laughter, triggering something within Danny. Danny brings his face up close to the other, lips curling just an inch or two away for hers.

“Oh, a joke? Something’s funny is it? YES, IT IS! YOU GET IT. YOU WANT IT, YES?! SHALL I GIVE IT TO YOU?!”

Danny lifts her off the wall and slams her back once more, she responds with a grunt, that she forces into a moan, which only tears at the edges of Danny’s grin even more.

“My, my, you love it, don’t you? Why don’t I just b-b-break you into two right here, shatter you into a million pieces perhaps, WOULD YOU LIKE THAT?!”

“Ooh, don’t you know how to talk to a girl?”

The voice registers in Danny’s head, his fingers relaxing at the same time. With a pained smiled on her face, Ina slides down the wall, feet finally touching the floor.

“Aw, is play time over, Dannyboy?”

The glaze over Danny’s eyes seems to vanish, and he slaps his cheek hard to bring him out of his crazed daze.

“Fu-ck.”

“Leave the slapping to me, why don’t you?”

“Ugh, I’m making this a habit, aren’t I?”

“Some might call it an addiction.”

“Twice does not make an addiction”

“Only takes one taste of Ina.”

Danny’s eyes snap to the girl from the blank spot of the wall he was staring at. He grunts and offers her a hand to help steady her. Ina ignores the hand and gives Danny a pointed look.

“Really, you’re going to try and help me up after that shitstorm?”

“What are you doing back here?”

Ina clicks her tongue, wincing slightly at the pain her back is in as she twists at the torso.

“You didn’t think I’d miss your all important match for the Hart Title, did you?”

“After how we left things-“

“You’re right, I really just wanted to see you put through a table. Come on, can’t miss that. And damn did you pull through!”

Danny’s recollects the feeling of his back going through that table, unable to resist a smile.

“It was glorious.”

“You lost, dipshit. You realise you couldn’t even defend your title once?”

“I honestly, don’t give a damn.”

“What?”

“You heard me, I lost my title, but what do I have next… Wargames to look forward to. That’s another buffet so soon after Doc’s Shove It. I’m gorging myself on the flesh of the broken. I broke Main as much as he broke me this week, and lord I cannot wait to keep at it in two weeks.”

“That table looks like it scrambled your brains.”

Danny’s eyes narrow, as a thought strikes him.

“Wait, so you came to watch the show, but why’re you back here?”

Ina averts her gaze, looking to the floor and hiding her grin.

“I waited by the backdoor to really rub your loss in your face, but you never showed. And before you ask how I got in, have you seen this pout, your muscley headed friends kill to get a high from a girl like me.”

“A girl that looks like she does at least three different kind of drugs and spends more time with a belt around her arm than around her waist?”

The line came out venomous, catching Ina off guard, making her take a step back. A look of disgust spreads across her features and she spits at Danny’s feet.

“Fuck you.”

Danny growls a little, before realizing what he’d said, especially in relation to that drunk ex boyfriend who had showed up at her place just the other day.

Quote:
Last week

The burly man spits a wad of blood out, splattering against Danny’s pants. Danny looks down at the blood, turning over his shoulder to look at Ina with a look of incredulousness. The expressions shatters at the sight of her concerned, slightly afraid face. She shakes her head once, yearning for him to stop. Danny gives her a knowing look, turning back to the man. He throws the hammer in the air, lowering himself to face level, and catching the hammer right beside the man’s skull.

“I’ll splatter your brains all over this carpet. I don’t actually give a fuck as to why you’re here. I thought perhaps if you’d told me, I could help fix it for you, send your hideous face on it’s way out of here. But since you don’t feel like cooperating, I’m going to-“

“This whore bitch has you wound up good, doesn’t she? You’re just another dog for her to walk around on a leash. What’s she k-k-keeping you around for? Coke? Crystal? Which one is it, big man?”

Danny’s eyes widen, is that what Ina was? Just another drug abusing degenerate? Nevermind. He pressed the cold, metal head of the hammer against the man’s skull, shoving him onto his back with it. Danny lifts his boot and slams it down onto the broken knee, eliciting a loud howl into the corridor. In the distant, an annoyed neighbour screams to shut the fuck up.

“Ina I’m –“

“Fuck. You.”

Ina turns on her heel and storms off back the way she came, leaving Danny standing like a fool in the hallway. He had to go the same way to leave, but he figured it probably wasn’t the best idea to follow her out. What was even going on with him, he had no clue where that came from.

"Oi, stop gawking. Grand Dragon Mike has deemed you worthy of fighting alongside us against The Unknown Soldiers. He doesn't like to be kept waiting."

Danny turns on his heel slowly, to see a robed, masked man standing behind him. Danny vaguely recalls having seen him somewhere, but can't quite put a finger on it.

"What in the-"

"HUP SHUP HUSH. YOU. MIKE. NOW. Before I shit my pants and let it dribble all over your shoes, wait you might like that, hm.. No. NO! Come, now! We have no time to lose!"

With a twirl of his coat, Grande Ricardo runs down the hallway, in the opposite direction to the exit. Danny stands motionless, looking back and forth from the back of Ina and the back of Ricardo. Shaking his head to himself..

"I can't believe I'm doing this."
