A void of black nothingness settles in as a voice is heard from somewhere within it.

”Life is a funny thing. We're all born and someday we'll all die. If there's one thing I've learned in this life, it's that I shouldn't be afraid to die. Some psychotic old man and his vegetable friend is not going to change that. I am not afraid to die. There is no reason to fear the inevitable.

Time is a funny thing. We all look forward to the future, yet we constantly lean on the past. Relying on what you once did or failed to do does not determine your now or your future. Soaring in the clouds or buried in the dirt. Those things no longer matter the minute that you're back on main surface.

Words are a funny thing. We speak and we shout to try and get a point across. However, the words are not what changes the course of the world. The actions are the contributor there. Words are pointless, but they are a drug we are all addicted to.

Wrestling is a funny thing. Night in and night out we put our well-being on the line. Win or lose, there is always another match to look forward to. There is always another opportunity. There is always that chance to turn your fortune around and climb the ladder.”

A few moments pass filled only with a low volume chuckle.

“Doctor Louis D'Ville is quite the spectacle. Who knows how long he has walked this Earth? Who knows how much longer he will? He constantly speaks of my demise, of my session with him. Well, I have two sessions with him in the coming weeks. Neither of us have a clue on what's really on the horizon.

Doc thinks that because he once held the Universal Championship he is the king of the XWF. He and Unknown Soldier may be the current Tag Team Championships, but I have heard him rely on his past accolades far too often. What you have done is of no concern when compared to what you will do. Focus on the future instead of times gone by that have no importance any longer.

The good doctor's words are wise, but they are empty. It's a bit ironic that I am using words to describe the uselessness of someone else's. His words float through his ears and soak into his mind like a shot of morphine. Hearing himself speak is how he gets off. He'll need to find a new vice, however. For when I'm finished with him, talking might not be one of his strong suits.

Lou mutters comment after comment and insult after insult about what Havoc has done since its creation in the XWF. Refer back to what I said just moments ago. Our previous battles mean nothing as we approach this one. Coming up short against Thomas Nixon and Robbie Bourbon means nothing. It's a new day. It's a new opportunity. It's a brand new chance to prove myself and put someone down.”

A match is lit now and the nothingness is slightly removed. The flame flickers from the match and casts a light on the face of one Brandon Moore. Blackness surrounds the rest of him other than the shape of his face.

“If it's my time to go, Doc, it's my time to go. I accept that. But I've always said that I will take as many people down with me as I possibly can. That's for the fun of it. I've met Satan. I'm partners with his superior. You're no devil, Doctor D'Ville. You are no king. You will fall and be no one's martyr. I can't wait to see what it is that you claim you're capable of.

I am not afraid of you. I have no reason to be. You can rattle off your accomplishments over and over again, but it will make zero difference once we lock horns at Dealey Plaza. You're a frail old man with nothing left to live for. I get it. The world looks into your eyes and sees nothing but a hollow void. You're a hero to some, a villain to others. To me? You're just an appointment that's going to be cancelled.

Take a look at what you've done and kiss it all goodbye. The world is full of funny things, Doc. Irony and oxymorons rule our lives. We all know that everything changes with time. But for me, there will always be one constant. I will always look in the mirror and know who I am. I will never lose myself. I will always be just...plain...better.”

Brandon smirks just before blowing out the flame on the match. The scene returns itself to the emptiness found throughout the opening moments of Brandon's words.
