“You know she’s not going to chase you Rick, don’t you?” Fred said as he tightened his tie. I ignored the comment. He was getting changed in my living room, he slept in one of my many spare rooms after we had tried to create a business plan the night before. We had not decided on a final plan, but I had a jist of what I was going to do.
See, I only owned one floor of a rather large skyscraper and I wanted to expand. I wanted to make my business the biggest business in London. Of course this would take time, expanding needed slow and cautious tending to, and with wrestling, I did not have time to tend to this expansion on my own.
Who could I trust? Fred was trustworthy enough, but not intelligent enough to lead this expansion. Besides, I needed him by my side.
“Fred, you know I do not do chasing. Work out a way I can get attention without chasing,”I said as I adjusted my tie and sprayed some aftershave on my neck.
“I shall get right on it. By the way you only have one meeting today, and that’s with Lenny Jewell. The man who owns the building and many companies across London."
Isn’t it odd that in most places, nothing interesting is happening, yet in my life, it seems as though drama is at every turn.
Lenny was renowned for being a cunt but then it seemed as though all men were cunts these days.
We headed to the office, I knew my eyes would lock with Jenna. She was wearing a pencil skirt and a tight white shirt, as she saw me she undid the top button and winked before doing it back up again.
She was so good at teasing me.
As I entered my office, Lenny was already sat down, but in my seat.
“Leave us now, Fred.”
He scurried off to get on with organising a plan for Jenna, I had made that priority mega red. Opposed to just priority red. This system had rather faltered as I left, everyone had started to put everything in priority red so more and more adjectives were created to indicate how urgent the message or e-mail actually was.
“Lenny,”I said calmly but spitefully as he stood up to shake my hand. I drew him and clutched his hand tightly.
“Get the fuck out of my seat,” I said before laughing. He smiled and did so. There was a combination of awkwardness and humour.
Lenny sat opposite me as I took my seat. I put my feet up on the table and begun to throw the tennis ball against the wall over and over again, catching it and throwing it repeatedly.
“Shall we begin?”He said, looking at me with a certain frustration on his face.
“We both know what I want, so what you have to tell me, is how much?”
“Oh you want the building Rick? Is that what you want? Well I am afraid that won’t be possible. You see, I found out that certain members of this apparent dating agency of yours were simply having sex for money. Therefore, you will be under investigation for playing host to a glorified brothel. Checkmate,” Lenny looked confident, he placed his feet up on my desk.
He threw some papers in front of me, signing it would grant him ownership of my business.
I simply smiled back for a moment.
He suddenly panicked and moved his feet off of my desk.
“What is it?”
My happiness turned to rage, I flipped the papers off of my desk and stood and begun to shout.
“You stupid fuck…”
I calmed down, eventually, sitting down as I did so.
“Well you see Lenny, I had planned for this. It seems as though all of your businesses may not be so legit either. Your medicine business has been illegally handing out weed for extra money, something I am sure you didn’t know about. Oh and it seems interesting that these allegations come about just as your dating agency is set up right by the red light district, it seems rather ironic, perhaps I should delve into that as well?”I grinned.
Lenny turned red like a cherry tomato and his eyes puffed up like giant sugar puffs.
“You wouldn’t…”
“Oh but I would. You see I have so little to lose Lenny, unlike you. So here is what is going to happen. You are going to sell me this entire building at a reduced price, and you are going to also sell me your new dating business for simply pound sterling,”
“There’s absolutely no way…”
“Oh you’ll accept this deal or I will make the appropriate calls right now.”
“You’re bluffing.”
“Try me, Lenny.”
He took a pen out and read the papers before signing it.
“Checkmate.” I grinned before standing up and opening my office door and watching him leave.
He stops just before exiting though.
"You may only be a small business Ricky, but you're going to continue to grow, and when you're fully grown, you're at your peak and you think you're on top of the world. I will come rushing back to take you down because no one beats Lenny Jewell. This match, well, it's far from over. So keep growing, and one day you'll be on top of the mountain just like Steve Davids was. And it just so happens that I will be the John Samuels this time, and it will be me who takes you down from the top of the mountain. Best wishes, Steve."
"And where is John Samuels now!? He's not the champ damn it!" I shouted desperately as he left.
Jenna glides in with a dazzling smile on her imperfect perfect face. She sits in my seat and takes a sip of my whisky that I had poured for myself.
“Drinking on the job? I would hate to have to give you a formal warning,” I sat opposite her and poured myself another whisky.
“How come you are so chirpy at this hour? You’re usually angry until about 11am,”she said sarcastically.
“Well you see this 47 floor building? I have just bought it for next to nothing thanks to a bit of, well smart business shall we say? My dating agency might just be expanding. I get more and more powerful because of me. I do not rely on other people to give me wealth. Unlike my opponent this week, John Ross.”
“You just had to get a shot in whilst the cameras were rolling didn’t you?”
“I wouldn’t have it any other way either. The best victories are those subtle ones that mean so much more than anyone could ever understand. He seems like an intelligent man though, and I hope that perhaps we can come to some sort of arrangement. I have always wanted to have my finger in a certain oil pie.”
“Well that sounds wrong on just so many levels,” Jenna said giggling.
“Yes… well. You know what I mean. Anyway, can I help you miss….”
“You can just call me Jenna, surnames are so serious y’know?”She could get away with this unusual sarcastic sass that made her so much more likeable. It’s partly arrogance but it’s mainly just the fact she doesn’t take herself seriously at all.
“Very well. Miss Jenna,” I said with a wink that I wish I never did - she made me lose my call like no one else could, “that was goofy, sorry.”
She just giggled and pouted slightly.
“Now what do you say we have a second date?”
“As lovely as that sounds, dates are boring.”
Rain begun to pick up outside, extremely heavily. I looked at my watch, it was still very early, but what the hell.
“Grab your coat, let’s go.”
“What do you mean? I don’t get off until 6,”
“Not today, come on!!” I grabbed her hand, she laughed.
We strolled out through the rain, I held an umbrella over her head as we headed towards Finsbury Park.
It certainly didn’t look like festival season in the wet and muddy park.
I threw the umbrella into the air and it begun to blow away as I grabbed Jenna by the hand and sprinted towards the grassy banks.
The rain rushed down and we were soaking wet, I let go of her hand as I threw myself headfirst down the bank on my stomach, covering my formerly pristine suit in dirt and wet mud.
Jenna begun to laugh uncontrollably.
“Well come on then!”
“What the fuck are we doing!”
She then rolled down the hill sideways and stopped in my grasp. Looking up at me she smiled, and I smiled back.
I went to back away but she grabbed me by head and shoved my tongue down her throat. After we stopped making out, I laughed.
“What?”
I winked before rolling her over and grabbing her by the ankles playfully and dragging her through the muddiest part of the park.
“Ricky stop!”She was crying with laughter.
I picked her up and carried her to my mansion which was right next to Finsbury Park - not a coincidence.
Firstly I jumped in the shower to my en suite bedroom whilst Jenna aimlessly wandered around the house making it wet and muddy.
I got out of the shower and put on a new suit.
Jenna headed in the shower, and I handed her a white dressing gown for afterwards.
As I sat down on the bed, my phone began to ring.
‘Lenny’
“Not this lump of cunt.”
I answered it and heard his monotonous irritating tone.
“Ricky, I just wanted to congratulate you on your victory this morning, but you see, John Ross won’t roll over like I had to this morning.”
“Oh I know Lenny, I fucking well know. You though, just like him, are a crumbling business man with so much to lose. He lost half of his company the other day, and you, well you lost one of the biggest buildings in London, so there are certain similarities.... And me Lenny, well I am going to remain strong. It’s not about winning or losing against John Ross, it’s about finding out how I can grow stronger as a wrestler and as a businessman. The power just keeps growing, man…”
Jenna walks out with the white dressing gown on, I smile at her and raise one finger to symbolise that I will be just a moment.
She shakes her head though and then opens up the dressing gown before dropping it on the floor to reveal the best pair of breasts I have ever seen.
I don’t say a word to Lenny but simply hang up before I rush over to her and begin to roll my tongue down her trembling body and the shot fades to black.
