The scene is a cliff ledge.
The cliff is over looking a large canyon, where no bottom can be seen.
Suddenly from out of no where Mastermind steps out onto the cliff ledge.
"On May 14th 2014, I signed my life away to a contract to participate in the Xtreme Wrestling Federation. Little did I know then that the XWF would be a place of emotions. Some highs, some lows, and some in between. I've seen the good in people, and I've seen the bad in people. I've seen crazy people, I've seen really weird people.
"I took on the XWF to try and better myself, to try and fit it, and to try and move up the rankings. There were some wrestlers that I didn't want to compete against, because I wasn't ready, and there were some wrestlers that I thought I was ready and could beat. Boy was I dead wrong about that."
Mastermind looked down into the great big canyon. He walked around the side of the cliff, keeping his eyes in the canyon.
"10 Wins, 18 Losses, 1 loss that was Technical. 29 Matches in 4 months worth of action, 4 months worth of spilling my guts, 4 months worth of giving my time, 4 months worth of proving myself.
"Never in my wildest dreams did I think I'd get anywhere near any titles. I didn't think I was ready. I didn't think I was worthy. I didn't think I had it in me."
Mastermind kneels down, and picks up some dirt and drops it over the side. He watches the dirt trickle down into the canyon. It was like he was thinking of what was coming next.
"Within my first month of being in the XWF I was involved in my first Pay Per View - Leap of Faith. I loved that title of the Pay Per View. I was involved in my first Title Match. The old Arc of the Covenant Title. It turned out to be a Triple Threat timed Championship Match. I managed to win it twice over the course of the time period. But it was 8 seconds. 8 seconds that I held that title. People thought holding the title for 8 seconds was worth nothing.
"I was teased about it for weeks to come. 8 seconds. Twice held the title for 8 seconds. What a joke. No, I say the joke is on anyone who has ever found themselves in a title match that is timed, and never won the title in any minute, in any seconds. I say more fool you, than fool me, who actually won that title twice. Go ahead, get yourself in a match, and see if you could find you way to winning a title inside the time limit required. Those of you who actually have tried, but couldn't, Well I pity you."
Mastermind stayed kneeling.
"I have to believe in what I am doing. I have to take the leap of faith that I am on the right path. Just like I am taking a leap of faith if I were to sit on this cliff ledge."
Mastermind sat down and then moved closer to the edge of the ledge. He dangled his feet down over it. He looked around and soaked in the atmosphere. He closed his eyes and breathed in and out.
"I found a way after I won that belt for a mere 8 seconds to start winning, to take my faith in my own hands and leap with it.and in my next 6 matches I won 5 of them. I beat Ashe Dawson twice. He was a hard worker. Beat Joey Hawkins, and made him quit the XWF, I managed to get two people to submit to my Mind Controller submission move at once, and also bet Shelby Cobra, who we haven't seen in quite a while."
Mastermind opened his eyes and looked back down in to the canyon.
"And then my faith got tested. Up until the next Pay Per View Relentless, I managed 1 win in 6 matches. I went into Relentless needing things to change, but they didn't. My Leap of Faith which started out well, became Relentlessly bad. Even though I managed to Pin Mystica for the X-treme Belt, and held onto it for 29 Pin attempts which was relentless enough, I still lost it.
"I had my eye on that title ever since challenging for it against Mark Flynn, or well and truly before that. To win it was like a feeling that I had not had before. To constantly target it, and then win it, was like euphoria. To lose it was like devastating. But not as devastating as going through 9 matches defeated. 9 matches. That would be like throwing yourself off a cliff. Oh wait I'm on the edge of a cliff."
Mastermind looked around himself. He started laughing hysterically. He started swinging as if he wanted to jump into the canyon below. He stopped and wiped away the tears of laughter. He then crawled away from the cliff ledge with his hands, and stood up.
"I have lived my life here in the XWF for the last 134 days. 134 days I've been to the abyss and back several times. I've pride myself on my faith that I needed to relentless leap from match to match. I am a former Arc of the Covenant Champion, and a former X-treme Champion. Now all roads lead to this Monday Night, where I take on Gator for the Television Championship. All roads lead to Kansas City, Missouri. All roads lead to my cross roads.
"10 Wins 18 Losses and 1 technical. Maybe 1 more win or loss by then. I pride myself on stats because to be the best you need to beat the best, and to do so you need to come out on top. Gator, I've lost to you once. It was a great match, and yes I respect what you have done to this point. You haven't been here long, and you've come in and shaken the XWF to it's foundations. You made people sit up and take notice, where I've made people sit up and want to kill me.
"Am I ready to take you on Gator? Yes. Will I beat you? Probably not but I'm going to give it my all anyway. I've come to the end of my proverbial road. Which ever result on Monday Night will lead me in a different direction away from this cross road. The challenge will be where to next?"
Mastermind looked back down into the canyon for the last time. He stands there for a few minutes, shakes his head, and walks away.
