INT. HALLWAY - NIGHT
STEVE SAYORS is standing next to SPIKE HANNIGAN, who is leaning up against the wall.

STEVE:
So, Spike, what are your thoughts tonight after your match with Bob Murray?

SPIKE turns to look at STEVE.

SPIKE:
You really wanna know?

STEVE:
Yeah...I wanna know.

SPIKE:
Honestly, I don't know what to think. I'm not sure whether I should be mad or embarrassed. And I should feel happy. I just
won my first singles match in the XWF! I'm now undefeated in singles competition! But at the end of the day...it's just not that
satisfying. Why? Because the match that would start my professional career in a major league company...was with a 70-year-
old talk show host.

SPIKE turns and looks directly into the camera.

SPIKE:
And, Bob, I loved watching you as a kid. When I wasn't watching anything wrestling related, I would watch your late night
show! You've always been able to put a smile on my face! And the best joke that I've heard come out of your mouth in such
a long time...was when you started talking about becoming a professional wrestler. I LAUGHED MY ASS OFF! I NEVER
HEARD ANYTHING QUITE AS RIDICULOUS AS THAT!

SPIKE looks up at the ceiling, closes his eyes, and lets out a long sigh. Then he looks back at STEVE.

SPIKE:
The longer I heard him go on and on about how he was gonna wrestle, the less funny it became, and the more angry I
became. Seeing this old man, who, after seeing the ratings of an episode of Madness, decided that he wanted to become a
wrestler, walk down the ramp to the ring made me sick inside. Seeing this old man in the same business that fell in love with
was 8 years old made me cringe. WHY? BECAUSE HE ONLY CARES ABOUT THE RATINGS!! I've spent years training.
Years, perfecting my skills. Years spent torturing my body to become the best that I possibly can be. YEARS, SCRATCHING
AND CRAWLING EVERY PAINSTAKING STEP OF THE WAY TO GET WHERE I AM TODAY!!! WHY? BECAUSE I LOVE
THIS BUSINESS!!

SPIKE pauses to catch his breath.

SPIKE:
So when I went down to the ring, I wanted to break every bone in his body. And to my surprise, the fat bastard caught me
off guard. He could work a little bit. But that didn't change the way that I felt about him. I still wanted to beat the piss out of
him. But it wasn't until near the end of the match when my feelings changed. He gets me to my feet, and, like a deer in the
headlights, just stares at me. That's when I saw him for who he truly is...an old man who has no idea where he is. I felt a
little sympathy for him, and decided to just to end it there. I could have done much worse. But what would it have
gained me? So, to answer your question, Steve, I don't what to think. I'd rather just forget about it and move on.

SPIKE gets ready to leave, but stops, and turns back towards the camera.

SPIKE:
Oh, and I've got one last thing to say to you, Bob Murray. If you decide to step into that ring again, it better be for the right
reasons. Because if you don't, I will find you, and I will beat the living hell out of you. This business means more to me
than it does to you. If you're heart's not in this business...then I'll rip that heart of yours out of you...

SPIKE turns around and walks away.
