Pain hit my body once it hit the dirt. Blood ran from my lips causing it to drip into the dirt and mix. Still, a smile was on my face for everyone around to see. Even in pain, I smiled. I might have been looking death in the eye but I refused to run. Pain shot from my neck down my spin as Nerobel pulled me up by the throat and sent me backing into the earth. My breathing stilled, my body stiffened, my smile...Gone.
Is this all you can do? I expected more from our great Mandii Rider, the leader of Sirens, the end of worlds.
I felt heat as she sent her foot into myself. My body rolled in the dirt as I let blood slip from my lips with a cough. My shirt started to tug at my body as Nerobel pulled me up by it looking dead into my eyes. She smiled and sent me into the side of my car. My body slid down as glass broken and shattered to the ground covered in my own blood.
Come on, put up more of a fight. You are just too easy.
Mandii!
I heard a faint giggle as my body was thrusted into the air and a hand was placed on my back. The wind hit my face along with the dirt that circled it. I closed my eyes before reaching earth again and hearing a loud cracks. Dust was starting to pick up once again as the fight between me and Nerobel continued. She picked up my body and held it in the air for a moment or two before sending me onto the hood of my car and sitting on my chest, this caused my breathing to decrease and my body to run with a even worse amount of heat.
No! Let her go!
I looked to the side to see Hadassa running to us both, unphased by my damaged body laying in blood on the hood of my car. I let a growl roll in my throat before pushing Nerobel off my and sending her into the air.
Stay back!
My body surged with heat as my eyes changed to a golden brown. Nerobel pushed her body to mine as we both came crashing down to earth. My body rolled over in the dirt before I rolled over onto my belly to spit out the remainder of blood in my mouth. Nerobel laid in the dirt for a moment or two before shooting up to her feet and coming at me once again. Once she reached me, I grabbed her ankle sending her into the dirt next to me and got on her chest. She smiled, blood running in her teeth, and tried to hit me off her. I dodged before pulling her up with myself and sending her over the top of my car into the dirt. My body flew with hers over the car but I got to my feet, as for her, her face broke most of her fall.
Ok, now I’m pissed!
I picked her up by her shirt and sent a hit to her face before having her push me off into the dirt and jumping over me to my car. Before I could get to my feet, she had a car pipe to my throat cutting off what air I was struggling to get. She smiled and spit her blood into my face before sending her knee into my side and keeping it there.
Oh are you? Well thats just sad if this is all you are doing when made mad. You see Mandii, you are still half blood, you are weak, and you have yet to make a decision. I'm just here to make sure you make a choice and in that choice, help you to death. You do not wish to be with Helen, you will die. Want to know the process?
Her smile got under my skin, feeding the heat in my body. She started to run the pipe along my body before shoving it into my side causing a loud scream to come from my mouth. Heat rushed the spot and she twisted the pipe.
You don't know that feeling, but I can help with the feeling of dying.
I pushed her up, pulling the pipe from my side. Once she started to come back down I sent the pipe into her back and then a hit to the head. She hit the ground hard before blood began to run from her nose. I sat up to a knee, feeling the hole in my side, and watched as she touched each bleeding cut on her body. She looked to me, smiling, before rushing to me, knocking me on my back, and sitting on my chest once more.
I know more than you think.
I felt her pull something from behind her. Suddenly, a cold blade met with my face and her smile inched over her face once more. She bent over, making sure to be in my face, before licking the blade and sending it to my skin once more.
Like, first when you start to die from the mutation you get a feeling in your gut. It's like fire beginning to set into motion from the inside.
She sent the knife into my side and twisted it. I let out another scream before feeling my back arch. She put her finger over my lips before speaking once more.
Oh shh shh, my sweet. That isn't even the worse part because you see, this plain, it starts in your gut and slowly works it's way up.
The blade slowly started to cut over my skin up to my chest. Heat rushed through my body as blood started to leave the open wound. I closed my eyes, trying to heal, it wasn't working.
Then, it stops for just a moment before really giving you pain. This pain, Mandii, it is more than just a paper cut pain or even a little side wound. This pain will make you wish you were dead. This pain, it makes you beg for death.
She twisted the knife before pulling it from my body, a trail of blood following behind the blade. My eyes shot open and my body followed with the blade before being pushed back to the ground. I let out a cough before feeling the knife sent into my body once more and twisted.
Then, when you want it all to be over it goes right to your heart.
The blade moved closer to my heart. I could feel the blade sliding as I let out another scream. My hand shot on top of Nerobel's hand and the knife before looking up into her eyes. She tried harder to send the blade into my heart but before she could, I sent her back grabbing the blade. I got to a knee once more before having Nerobel shoot after me and send my back to the ground. She smiled but slowly it started to fade. The blade from the knife ran deep into her chest as she looked down at her blood running down my hand. I looked up at her pushing her off with my foot. She fell to her back as I got to my feet. I walked to her as she started to scoot back and I picked her up, slamming her body to the car.
Have I told you I hate you yet?
I sent the blade into her side once again and she let out a yell. The blade ran deep before I allowed it to be let free from her body. She hit the ground and held onto her side as blood ran between her fingers. My body grew weak as I went back to one knee and let the knife fall from my hand. Blood ran down my body, from the blade, and from Nerobel.
Well.....?
I looked up to Nerobel looking at me, barely conscious. I got back to my feet before she could and walked to her once again, kicking her back into the car. She coughed up a little blood as I put the blade to her neck. She smiled and looked at the bloody blade, then me.
Kill me.
Blood ran down my lips and dropped onto my pant leg. I looked into her green eyes before feeling her tug on my shirt.
Kill me Little sister!
Sister?!
My breathing stilled as I looked into her eyes. Sister?
Sister?
Kill me, I'm the only one left of my family besides you. I would sooner die than be left with you! Because of you, my father is dead!
What are to talking about?!
I pushed the blade into her neck. Her eyes held tears, ones she had been fighting for a long time.
Answer me!
I'm your half sister....My father was yours, that is, until you took him away from both me and my mother! He is dead due to your filthy human mother! So kill me Mandii, get it over with! You are going to have to, I won't allow you to live after all that you have done to me.
I closed my eyes for a moment before letting the blade hit the ground. Gasps filled the air from those around watching the fight. I began to get up but Nerobel grabbed my hand, pulling me back to her. She picked up the blade, placing it to my hand, then placing the tip to her neck.
Kill me! I need this! Please!
Tears fell down her face as she looked up to me. She begged for death, she welcomed it like I once had. She wants to die, but she does not have the luxury of it. Sister.... I know this deep desire, this burn to die.
No.
I pushed her back and placed the blade next to her. Tears ran down her face as I walked away, blood running down my arm and the new clothes I had just put on a clean body, stained once more with not only my blood, but my fathers daughters blood as well.
~~~
The stars hung high in the sky once again. I could barely see them through the tree leaves and the fire that was right in front of me. I could feel the flames on my face, dancing around. I pulled my knees to my chest and looked into the fire. I could hear Miranda and Hadassa giggling in the background, like small children. This war was no place for them. Amaryllis walked around one side of the fire before closing her eyes, letting a sigh slip, and walking back to a tent that I had packed in my black bag. She was the daughter of Helen. She was turning on her own mother, I could never understand why. I hated my mother, she let so much happen to me. Helen seemed to care at least some what for Amaryllis . Then again, she also tried to kill her own daughter. Daughter. My father had another daughter, a full blooded Siren. Nerobel was my sister, half sister.
I'm sorry...Sorry for trying to kill you.
Nerobel sat next to me, a drink in her hand. She looked over at me before taking a sip and looking into the fire. We both had battle scars. Ones from each other, and others from out past, she just didn't let her show as much.
Thank you for not killing me.
Why would I kill you?
I...I tired to hurt you. I wanted you dead. You took everything from me.
If I took anything from you, I didn't do it with the intention of taking it from you. I didn't even know my....our father.
He died soon after you were born.
She looked to the fire, again taking a sip. I let a sigh go before laying my head on my knees.
I only met him once before he left me and my mother for your mother. He died for you both....
How?
She looked at me with a shock in her eyes. She looked back to the fire before standing to her feet.
He wanted to be with your mother more than be with us. He didn't chose to be a Siren fully....For you and her.
Come on everyone! Can't stay out in the middle of nowhere for too long!
Not with a crazy bitch lady on the loose.
Miranda! Don't stay things like that.
Mandii and you do.
That's different.
No it isn't!
You two knock it off. Where are we going?
We have no place to go.
Nerobel looked over at me with a smile.
They look to you for leadership. People looked to father for leadership as well. You seem more of his daughter than I.
I wouldn't know. Helen said we were alike, stupid, naive, ridiculous not to want to be what she is. I guess she wanted him dead like she wants me dead.
Nerobel looked at me with a frown. She growled under her breathing but loud enough for me to hear before turning to everyone.
Don't say her name.....You all can stay with me!
She grabbed a bag slinging it over her shoulder before starting deeper into the woods. Everyone followed after her, including myself.
~~~
My body was starting to cool off with the last cut beginning to heal. I started to run up to where Nerobel was, and stopped once I was next to her. She had this look of anguish on her face as she turned to see me next to her. A loud puff of air came from her lips, moving part of her hair from her face. I rolled my eyes before looking ahead, trying to block out the complaining from everyone about the walk they were taking.
Why can you say her name, but I can't?Not that I can't say some stupid name due to your disapproval
She is part of the reason he's dead.
What do you mean.
She turned her head to look at me before stopping. She looked at me with confusion before readjusting the bag on her shoulder.
You don't know?
If I did would I ask?
Helen led my father to your mother. She is the reason he wished to not turn. She has had you set up from the beginning. She had your mother and my father be together to make you. She had Marcus come to you so he could take Sage and turn you. She didn't expect your little boy toy however.
She started to walk once more. I growled under my breath remember seeing her in the old house. My body rushed in heat, like fire bathing my skin.
What about my boy toy?
I didn't do anything to him, you prevent me from doing so. However, he is a cutie. He is like what your mother was to my father, you don't want to change in hopes he will love you and not look to you as a monster. That is how father was. He is the thing standing in the way of Helen getting what she wants.
And that is?
You to be a full Siren. You are the only one with the power to destroy all she needs to be destroyed.
Nerobel began to walk faster. The words she said rang in and out of my ears. I guess I was my fathers daughter, I just wish I knew what my father was.
Wait, can you tell me more about him?
No, not now, it isn't the time. However, I will fight with you. I want Helen dead and after she is dead, you will be as well from the mutation. In that moment, I will die in any way I can. I don't wish to be alone. Come along now! We are here!
I looked up to a tree and a house that was hidden in the leaves. A small bamboo looking latter started to fall from one tree as everyone began to climb. It appears this would be base, for now. I still had things to get used to, a half Siren full blooded sister, being the leader of this little "group".
If you want to make it to Helen, you are going to need something better than that.
~~~
I was there leader. I was going to lead these few into the war that would change their lives forever. I always grew up taking care of myself while looking out for Jeremy and Jason, I never thought I would lead these few people into a war that could kill us all. They looked up to me like I was a hero, like I was a savior, like I was the answer to everything they asked for. Miranda and Hadassa wanted revenge for their family, Amaryllis had mommy issues, and now my sister wanted to take Helen down for our father. I can't help but to think of this to fail, but then again, look at how far we have come. One thing still stands true like it has always been, however.
Mandii! Are you ready?!
I'm not the devil, but I also will never be your hero.
Ready.
The Beginning of the End.
