Opening up slowly but surely like the rise of a dark sunshine we find Marf alone in a locker room. It is Wednesday night, Warfare is under way and this is mere moments after the Marf and Lycana match ended in a double disqualification. He stands in the small bathroom inside the locker room, staring at himself in the mirror. His face looks a lot puffier than it did before the match. His left eye is bloodshot, there’s deep scratches along the orbital bone and his next has some nasty bruising resembling teeth marks.

His head wound from the match is still unattended and it leaves a steady stream of blood running down the side of his battered face. Marf slowly raises his left hand up and wipes at the blood, smearing it across his face and all over his hand. Marf grins at himself in the mirror while holding his bloodied left hand up high. He nods and starts to laugh to himself, leaning forward and pressing his hand on the mirror for support he smears blood all over the glass.

Marf: She did this to you...every sore spot is crying out with need to have her...and we let her leave? How could I be so naive, she’s perfect in every way. And she felt so damn good! Her skin felt so smooth and soft with each strike. Her voice was beautiful anytime she cried out. I know where to find her next...

Marf laughs some more and pushes off the mirror, leaving a long streak of blood stamped with a handprint. Deciding to leave behind this murder scene of an area Marf turns and leaves the locker room. Fast forward to the end of the Shawn a Wylde match now and this flashback is in full effect. We cut to the ring.

After a well fought match, Shawn Wylde is leaning in the corner, breathing heavily. Tommy Romeo makes his way up the steps and into the ring to talk with Shawn. He’s leans on his cane carefully as he climbs the steps but leaves it on the apron as he enters the ring and approaches Shawn . Romeo pats Wylde on the back and they look to make their way out of the ring together.

Lights in the Sky by Les Claypool suddenly hits and Marf begins to march to the ring. Tommy Romeo and Shawn Wylde both look over in shock and a tired looking Wylde steps in front of Romeo. Telling Tommy to stay behind him as they watch Marf storm to the ring.

Heather: What is Marf doing?

Pip: I don’t know but he looks focused on Romeo and Wylde...

The fans boo the arrival of Marf who ignores them, focusing entirely on Shawn Wylde. Romeo grabs a mic and struts to the corner retrieving his cane. Marf slides into the ring and gets right into Wylde’s face.

Romeo: Marf hold on a second, why are you here?

Marf brandishes his own mic and turns to look over at Romeo. He gives him a nod and a smirk before speaking.

Marf: You saw what I did at High Stakes to your boy here right?

Romeo: Sure...what does that have to do with you coming out here now?

Marf and Shawn Wylde are almost nose to nose while Romeo is behind Wylde bracing for a fight. Marf raises the mic slowly back up to speak.

Marf: So I think you know why I’m here...

Wylde raises his hands in defense while Marf drops the mic at their feet.

Heather: Uh oh this is about to explode!

Pip: Marf has decided he isn’t done with Wylde!

Marf rears back for a moment and then looks like he’s about to throw a haymaker. Instead he just puts out his arm for a handshake. Romeo starts laughing. They all start shaking hands while the fans have a mixed reaction of shock.

Heather: What the hell??

Pip: Did Marf just join RMI!?

Tommy raises the mic to his mouth to address the stunned crowd.

Romeo: Ladies and Gentleman RMI is proud to announce yet another addition to our growing list of talent. This announcement here tonight in beautiful Venice Italy is just the first of many to follow. Romeo Management Inc is all inclusive, we dont hold grudges, We are a family, and we look out for each other.

YES JENNY IM SPEAKING TO YOU.

Now Marf signed with me last week but we decided to announce it here tonight in front of the people of Italy, because who doesnt love a surprise right? Baphomet, I know you’re listening we are growing.... and we will put you in your place. Keep to the shadows because only Superstars belong in the Spotlight.

Tommy Romeo raises Marf’s arm in the air while Shawn Wylde applauds. The crowd starts buzzing as Lycana and Ash Quinn slide into the ring without warning. Geri Vayden also slides in and the three of them stand to face off with Romeo, Wylde and Marf. Romeo backs up behind Marf and Wylde. The crowd gets restless at the potential war brewing.

Marf looks over to Wylde and they nod to each other before turning to face the three powerful women. Wylde steps forward when Marf grabs his arm and turns him around, nearly decapitating him with a vicious clothesline. Romeo looks shocked while the Baphomet slides into the ring behind Romeo.

Heather: What the hell???

Pip: I don’t think Marf is joining RMI.../color]

Romeo leans on his cane to turn and leave but Baphomet kicks the cane and Romeo drops to the mat. Marf, now staring at Baphomet, raises his left hand high into the air. Romeo sees Marf put up the left hand and his eyes go wide in shock. He shakes his head in disbelief. Shawn Wylde gets up and goes for Marf but Ash, Geri and Lycana immediately attack him. Romeo yells for them to stop but this does nothing of course. Lycana pulls Wylde to his feet and hits The Curse, a double wrist lock suplex.

[color=red]Heather: Oh this is getting bad for RMI...

Pip: Where is the rest of Romeo’s people he’s signed?

Wylde rolls over in pain and tries to pull himself up with the ropes. Ash races over and hits Angel Eyes, drilling Wylde and sending him stumbling backwards. Geri lines him up and delivers a sharp super kick to take him down. Wylde hits the mat as the three ladies surround him and now grab hold of the beaten Wylde so he can’t do anything but watch.

Marf: Oh Tommy boy, you really thought I was signing with you didn’t ya? Bet you didn’t see this coming, did ya!? You were so confident I was about to be another cog in the sad sack circle that is RMI...and look where that’s gotten you!

You actually believed someone as connected to darkness as myself would want to be on your side, that’s a mixture of pathetic and funny. You’re almost as delusional as the trash you’ve already tricked into signing with you. Between those morons in Bob that pretend to know anything about evil to the loudmouth blonde that actually thought Ash wasn’t going to get to her, you’re all too fake for me. A storm is brewing and you’re in no way prepared for it. None of you!

The Left Hand is already busy writing the destinies of everyone, yourselves included. We are the future now. And we’re the real family here. Tell me, where’s the rest of yours, Romeo? Here you are in trouble and nobody is saving you. Now why would I want to join a so-called team like that? All of you are only selfishly concerned about yourselves, you can’t even have one another’s back. And speaking of backs...

Marf turns his attention to Shawn Wylde now who is struggling to get free but is no match for Ash, Geri and Lycana. Marf sits down in front of Wylde while Baphomet holds onto Romeo. Marf pats Wylde on the head while he sneers back in anger and frustration.

Marf: It’s a shame you didn’t bring precious Renee out for this...but that’s okay. I want to share something with you. I’ve been keeping a close eye on her ever since Tommy boy gave me a tour of the headquarters last week. You guys should really be more careful who you invite to play...

Heather: I really don’t like where this going...

Pip: Looks like Shawn and Tommy don’t like it either!

Marf: Ahhhh here we are! It was surprisingly easy to chill in the lot across the street! You should really get some security or something Tommy...

Marf: Ooo, there she is! The stunning Renee! She’s very photogenic wouldn’t ya say?

Wylde begins struggling wildly now but Lycana cracks an elbow across his jaw before grabbing hold of him again. Romeo yells at Marf to stop. Marf looks over at him and laughs before turning back to Wylde and pointing at the screen.

Marf: Yeah she sure turns heads. Funny enough she actually passed by me without realizing it was me just before I got this shot. Glad she didn’t, I enjoy these candid pictures, really captures her overall lure...she pulled me right in, so it only made sense to track her...

Heather: Oh my god...

Pip: Uhh, someone should stop this!

Marf: That’s right, I know exactly where your precious Renee lives. She’s not safe anymore. None of you are. And that’s my point. The Left Hand is going to change everything and anyone in our way will be destroyed. That includes every fool linked to Romeo Management...

Baphomet drags Romeo to his feet and shoves him into Marf. Wylde screams from the mat for them to stop but Marf just starts laughing out of control. He set up Romeo and hits the Sway, dropping Romeo on his head with the vicious Canadian destroyer. The fans are booing wildly while Marf slowly gets up, still laughing like a lunatic.

Baphomet nods to the other three and they let Wylde go. He immediately gets to his feet and goes for Marf who has turned his back to him. Baphomet steps in front of Marf and catches Wylde by the throat. He nails The Left Hand Path, a brutal left handed choke slam. Marf once again raises his left hand and so does Geri, Ash, Lycana and Baphomet.

Heather: These guys are really starting to build serious momentum.

Pip: The Left Hand is taking over XWF!

The last line echoes a few times before we come back to our current time with Marf staring at the camera smiling. He’s not covered in blood or in a tree this time. Just standing solemnly in his hotel room with a left hand placed upon his chest while he grins at us all. Marf nods and begins to speak,

Marf: Just in case you missed it, I did a thing at Warfare. And let me tell you my friends, it was such a gratifying experience. Getting my hands on that loudmouth Romeo and dropping him on his scrawny neck and head was just so wonderful. And let’s not forget the look on that twerp Shawn Wylde’s face. The realization that came far too late into those dumbfounded eyes, that they not only had lost control but they never had control in the first place. I never once had any intention of signing with the RMI band of halfwits and try hards.

The fact Shawn was so quick to assume we were allies. After I put my hands on Renee the first time how could he possibly trust me? But he did, and he paid for it. And so did Renee’s privacy. Watching her at her home was much more interesting than that boring office. Especially once she slipped into a comfier outfit...I sincerely hope you realize how much worse that could have gotten in a hurry. I suppose I let a little of the Christmas spirit infect me. Let you guys off easy. Until our paths cross again of course. In the meantime, Renee if you’re watching this, I liked the little red outfit best...boo!

Marf cracks a smile that could run shivers up a concrete wall. He chuckles to himself before shaking his head and raising a hand. Nobody can really tell what he means as usual, no different than nobody being able to understand his exhaustions or motives.

Marf: Now, as much as I enjoy reliving the beatings I gave to Shawn and Romeo, I sadly already have to move on. On to another Wafare and yet another opening match. This time it’s a triple threat against Griffin MacAlister and my buddy Barney Green. I officially had the pleasure of meeting ole Barn at High Stakes. We briefly got to exchange fists but only for such a short amount of time. I’m excited to see we get to have a bit more of a personal experience. Let me tell ya, I personally can’t wait. I’ve made myself very familiar with Barney’s work and what he brings to the table.

Barney Green might be an old school guy and considered a legend but to me he is far better than all these other so-called legends and greats in XWF. Barney brings that perfect combination of violence, unpredictability and willingness to cross lines. While everyone else runs their mouths about being like this and more, they’re all full of shit. Barney is a true champion of violence. It’s a damn shame we aren’t ina one on one contest. But at least we are getting an extreme rules match out of this. No cowardly referee will be holding us back once the blood really gets flowing! All three of us will have the opportunity to beat chunks of flesh off one another. Which brings me to my other opponent.

Marf’s smile fades away faster than friends from high school as he shifts his focus. Instead of a smile it’s a sneer spreading across his face while a mixture of disgust and disappointment swirl in those beautiful blue eyes,

Marf: Hello, Griffin MacAlister. I have no idea who the hell you are other than the guy that accidentally killed Peter Gilmour and cried about it last week. And likely you have no idea who I am either. Well last week I was the guy that put on a clinic to open the show, then woke everyone up later that night by destroying Tommy Romeo and Shawn Wylde and joining forces with the Left Hand. I basically was, well you know, doing actual significant shit, not just sobbing and watching someone else take what should have been your pinfall. That’s who the hell I am.

What amazing things can you tell me about that I’ll actually care about, Griff? Spoiler alert, unless you’re related to Kevin, I won’t care what you have to say. You have absolutely no business being in this match and you’ve robbed both Barney Green and myself an opportunity for our first big, real encounter. You’d be best to just come out, apologize to us both immensely for getting in the way, and leave the match. We all know what happens if you stick around, you’ll go and get yourself so beat up you’ll go on another hiatus. Nobody really cares now and it’s not like anyone will remember you so just fuck off pal...

Ohhh dammit he went and said it! Does he do it on purpose? Marf’s eyes glaze over as he drifts off to wherever the hell it is...

...remember...

... remember...hiatus...

...I remember when Will Rage said he was going to take a hiatus from wrestling to focus his efforts of finding his missing wife, Mel. She of course had been missing since I hid the body. Absolutely no one suspected me and all eyes seemed to be on Will. Enough crime shows and dramas had made it easy for most to point fingers at my former partner. Of course with no real evidence to use against him, Will was just as much a free man as I was. Only difference was he was a broken man, and he was finally at the point I wanted to push him to. The point of no return.

I remember the company, like every greedy company I’ve ever known, wanted him to drop their big belt to me. It was their way of keeping the belt inside what they thought was a small group of friends, while still getting the belt off a leaving top star. It was exactly what I wanted but I played dumb until the match was signed. It took a lot of convincing but eventually even Will agreed to the match. He agreed to take a loss to me and lose his precious heavyweight title before walking away from it all. And I wanted to respect that, I really did. But there was just something in the way he said it all.

As if losing to me was some far off possibility, almost impossible to see come to fruition otherwise. Unless he allowed it. A missing god damn wife and this prick still had an ego about him. Which was exactly why everything continued to fall into place exactly as I had planned. We would meet in that ring for his last match and it would take place on a big pay per view to boot. With the heavyweight belt on the line we were the main event of the entire show. Former “friends” and “tag partners” going to war for the biggest title in the company. Spoiler alert, the buyrates were the best of the year.

I remember right before we went out I stood in front of Will Rage in the gorilla position. I looked into his eyes and behind that facade of being the best I could see it. The fear lurking way in the back. The fear of not knowing what happens after all this is over. The fear of becoming irrelevant. He was a wreck on the inside and doing his best to put on the cocky guy front. He wished me luck and went for a handshake. I heard my music start to signal I needed to go out so I shook his hand back. And that was where I got him. In my hand was a pair of his missing wife’s panties. I planted them in his hand before heading out to the ring.

The look in his eyes as he looked down into his hand was priceless. I could almost hear the loud snap of his sanity breaking. I left him there shaking while I walked towards the ring, the only person in the world that knew what happened to Mel Rage. I remember no sooner did I get into the ring my music cut short and Will Rage’s fired up. He was practically flying down to the ring to get me and I knew I had him. He fought wildly and violently early on, with only myself understanding where this side of him was coming from. He beat and wailed on me while I countered what I could but mostly held back.

I remember when it happened, when he finally made a mistake. I took advantage and hurt him. I focused on his neck to keep him grounded and most importantly, kept his ear close to my mouth so I could tell him little things about that night I had with his blushing bride. His skin was hot to the touch from boiling with anger and I found it all very amusing. At one point he finally swung the momentum but as he tried to go for a finishing move I told him her last words were “where’s Will?” and he broke. I remember the crowd was stunned as he suddenly just stopped everything he was doing.

Sliding out of trouble I took control and dropped him on his head. Except unlike most times when I drop someone on their head, I purposely shifted my thigh so Will landed worse on his neck, the awkward weight causing a loud crack. I can remember women and children in those front rows, crying hysterically at what just happened while I covered everyone’s hero. A count of three erased the legacy Will Rage thought he was building. Two cracked vertebrae in his neck ended his career that night too. And some well placed evidence hidden in his locker room ended Will Rage’s time as a free man in the world. I remember not once feeling bad even a small bit...

... remember... feeling bad...

... remember...

And just like that, Marf’s eyes flutter back to the real world. He wipes some sweat from his brow, and scratches his beard slightly confused. He shakes his head and speaks once more, his voice a bit groggy.

Marf: So I don’t want my opponents feeling bad just because we’re opening the show. We have a chance to steal the whole show with what we can potentially do out there. Whether it be with weapons or fists, I look forward to the fun we are likely to have. We get to mark that ring up with at least three different types of blood. I might actually lie down for a bit and dream of this to pass the time and get us there sooner. So, my new friend Griffin and my old friend Barney, for now I will bid you adieu.

And with that Marf makes an odd bowing gesture and we fade to black...
