Jenny walked with a sad smile through the backstage area of the arena. She had arrived in town early and wanted to get accustomed to the building she was going to make history in. Make history by upsetting the number 1 contender and putting herself on the map. Steve Sayors had called her and offered to interview her again, and lord knows she needed to talk to someone. She had a lot on her mind. AX3 was falling apart before he very eyes, Chris was losing his sanity more and more each week that his AX3 brother held the Universal gold, she was on her period, and her traumatic past had caused her anxiety to ramp up in recent days.
Another man with no morals, no values. Another man who wanted to do harm to her, but didn't quite know how. Her beef with Roxy, the pain in her ass from the laser removal----it was all starting to wear on her mind a bit. She needed this. Getting in that ring and letting her anger out was therapy. The things she did in that ring she wasn't proud of, she felt like a bad person, but she knew she needed it. You see, guys like Thaddeus, they were nothing but bullies. They were nothing but guys who knew how to make people believe they were tough guys, but never really had a pep to their step, a bite to their bark. Guys who were too much talk. She just sat in her hotel room and watched both Thaddeus Duke promo's on XWF TV, and this brisk walk through the back stage area was exactly what she needed. She felt herself dozing off.
Walking past the camera crews, production truck workers and makeup trailer aids, she waved and smiled at everyone. She smiled, but inside, she wasn't feelin that same smile. But unlike Thaddeus Duke, she could mask and hide it. He left his bullshit out in the open. She could see it--and smell it--from a mile away. Everyone she walked by, she had them fooled.
"Hey Jen!"
"What's up Jen?"
"Break a leg this week Jen!"
Ooooooh. She didn't like that one. She never understood that phrase. With a smile and an eye roll she walked by.
She had dyed her hair pink at the ends. She was really embracing this whole "Pink Perfection" thing. If you have a good marketing idea, why let it go to waste? Might as well look the part right?
If she was going to transform herself and transform her image, and be taken seriously, she needed to look the part. If she was going to beat Roxy, she needed to be all in. As she walked towards the backstage area where Steve Sayor's office was, she started to get goosbumps. She knew she was going to spill it all. She had so much on her chest that she needed to get off and she needed to talk to someone. Chris was far too consumed with himself right now to listen to her needs. She really hoped it changed after the PPV, champion or not. As she reached Steve's door, she pulled her cell phone out of her bag. Dialing a speed dial number, her hand shook.
"Bruce.........I know....I know.....look.....things are getting out of hand around here. I need you to come to North Carolina this week. Chris needs it. Just get here."
She hung up. Taking a deep breath, she put her hand on the door that read STEVE SAYORS---XWF MEDIA. With another deep breath she opened the door.
"Ms. Myst. Come in, sit down, please, can I get you anything?"
The door shut before we could hear her answer.
"So now because you turned your back on your little girlfriend that you're some sort of badass? Some sort of rockstar? Some sort of bad guy? Let me tell you this, dukie, you aren't shit. I know what you want, and so does Chris. You aren't pulling the wool over my eyes. You aren't pulling the wool over anyone's eyes. You have the same goal that Chris Chaos has, yet you try to preach as if you are all high and mighty. Am I supposed to sit here and believe that ever since you became number one on the power rankings that your ego hasn't inflated like a hot air balloon? Well, Thaddy my boy, I am about to send it crashing down like the Hindenberg. I'm blonde, but I am not stupid. I see right through these little tricks, mostly because I have played them myself. You say whatever you need to say to make sure you get what you want or need. You want AX3 to stay together as a brotherhood and as a strong unit because you don't want any shifting in momentum. You want Chaos and Jim to get along so Chris won't challenge for the belt, and so you can. You will win the belt then run, and claim you never needed us to get it. Maybe that is true, but you should have been honest from the start. You earned what you have......and claiming AX3 for your own selfish purposes is only hurting you. Your image. Your legacy. Your name. You will stab AX3 in the back any chance you get to win that title because you have no allegiance, no alliance, and no emotional connection. Whatever Chris's plan is, and I swear I don't know it because he won't tell me, you calling it out is the pot calling the kettle black if I have ever seen it before.
You proved your loyalty, proved your moral code with Dolly. You showed you would do damn near anything to get what you want and although Chris praises you for finally taking the diaper off, I find it to be hideously cowardice. Sure, I help Chris out when I feel he needs it, but it is for the advancement of the CHAOS brand and what that brand is doing within AX3. You were, are, and will be an outsider. This group took Chris in, put him on a pedestal, and made him a leader. They look up to him and the gears within the machine churn and spin because of him. You, you are just associated with the group, but by no means are you IN it. But you can flap your lips all you want......all I know is that it is going to give me great pleasure to be the one to shut them. How will it feel, losing to a girl? Losing to a girl on the show before you're supposed to challenge for Jim Caedus's Universal Title. You have nothing to lose, the match is guaranteed. The only thing that may take a hit is your pride. You will go into that match doubting yourself, questioning yourself, and wondering where it all went wrong. Thaddeus Duke, on top of the world, to being Thaddeus Duke, a victim Jenny Myst.
That is real entertainment to me. Real must see TV. A pussy getting beaten by an actual pussy.
Oh, the irony.
But watching your promo I picked out a lot of things. However, 95 percent of it was about Chris. Did you forget who you are facing? If you were facing Chris, after his actions lately, this would be a solid promo. But this is a match against me, and it took me a half a bottle of wine to even hear my name. I mean I was half in the bag by the time the promo even became relevant. Jesus H. Christ. Whatever you are on, let me get some. Gotta be some serious party drugs. Got you thinking you are some preacher. And what is even more fucked up, that was your first promo. Should I even begin on the second? It felt like some propaganda speech from a war movie. All warm and fuzzy, no real substance."
She stops and points to the ceiling.
"They can take our lives, but they will never take.................OUR FREEEEDOM!"
"Come on Dukie, I thought better of you than that. I think we all did. Your promos have been entertaining but isn't the point of this little game to diss one another? What's the matter, can't think of anything mean to say about me? I mean, I'm flattered but you should try to make SOMETHING up. Instead, you are too consumed with your own arrogance to even think that there could be a possibility of me upsetting you in this match. You are too caught up in your own little world, the World of Duke, to pay attention to just what the fuck actually awaits you in that ring Wednesday Night. That is good. That is how I like it. I have been looked down upon and underestimated my entire life. Do you know what getting a win over the #1 contender for the Universal Title would do for my confidence heading into my match with Roxy? It would boost it to astromonical proportions. Here, I will say something nice, since we are apparently in the "don't diss the other person" business..........If I can beat you, Duke, I can beat anyone on this roster. When I DO beat you Duke.......I will be the best bitch in this business........and you....well.....you will have an embarrassing, humiliating, man-shaming loss to a girl who was only hired because she was hot.
Sometimes perfection is hard to notice, Duke. Sometimes it can smack you in the face until it breaks your nose before you realize it is even there. But facts are facts and reality is reality.........I may not be the most polished wrestler inside that ring but I am a scrappy little bitch when I want to be.
Duke........get ready, because for the first time in your pretty boy life you will get an industrial sized dose.......of
P E R F E C T I O N
And this week, Duke.....it comes in Pink."
