The scene opens up to black podium with the XWF logo emblazoned on the front. The background of the scene is several XWF logos in a repetitive fashion on some sort of cloth covering. Thomas Nixon stands at the podium; he’s wearing a sleek, black suit and a striped blue tie. His hair is gelled back, giving him a professional appearance. The XWF Television Championship rests on his shoulder, the golden belt glimmering in the light.

He leans forward, talking into the microphone that extends from the podium.

“Only a little over a week ago, Chris Chaos took some time to address XWF. The fans, the wrestlers, and the management. He felt that as Universal Champion, he should voice his ideas. He wanted to set the tone for his championship reign because he believes that he is guiding the XWF into the future. He also took that time to voice his personal aspirations during his time in XWF.

So, I want to take a moment to talk about the XWF and my observations. And I feel that I have the authority to take a few minutes of your time because I’m the XWF Television Champion. Some people hear that and believe my words hold no weight. Some view this belt as a lesser title, and that’s the first issue I would like to address.

There are currently four singles championships that are regularly defended in XWF. Actually, let me rephrase that. There are currently four singles championships that are supposed to be regularly defended in XWF. At this point in time, Chris Chaos, Scully, and Dolly Waters have not defended their belts since Wild Card Weekend. In fact, in the two upcoming shows, they still aren’t booked to defend their championships.

When I say that I’m television champion, people shouldn’t ignore my sentiments. Not only did I win the belt at Wild Card Weekend, I’ve successfully defended the championship twice, and I’m scheduled to defend it this upcoming weekend.

I am the only fighting champion in XWF, and that holds more merit than the arbitrary belief that the Xtreme Championship and the Hart Championship mean more than the piece of gold over my shoulder. Even the Universal Championship saw little action for the four months that Scully held onto it. A belt that sees no action isn’t prestigious and right now, the Television Championship is the only belt that is regularly put on the line.

If XWF management refuses to recognize the importance of a fighting champion, they are essentially glorifying title reigns that are defended the minimum amount. I know Chris Chaos wishes to be a fighting champion, but he has yet to be booked in that capacity.

I am simply making the case that my belt should get the recognition it deserves. After I retained the belt against Broken Hart, I looked at the updated championship rankings that Paul Heyman creates.

To put it simply, I was disgusted. When I saw the top five contenders for my belt, I was a little appalled. The top contender was Cadryn Tiberius, who has fallen off the face of the earth since winning a four way bout. Then we have Benito Angelo, a dear friend, that I know wouldn’t want to face off with me for the title.

Benito and Cadryn at the top of the list weren’t the true problem. I looked further down the list and saw some surprising names. The third name was Alexis Riot. I guess Heyman doesn’t realize that I beat her decisively in my debut. Since then, she got steam rolled by Dolly Waters. Why is she anywhere near the hunt? She doesn’t have the resume to main event Savage against me. She shouldn’t be near this list.

St. Diabolicus takes the four spot. He made his return in a scramble match for the Federweight Championship, and, spoiler alert, he didn’t win that match. So why is he contender? He’s done absolutely nothing to warrant a shot.

I shouldn’t have to ask these questions about the contenders. Don’t line up matches for me against undeserving no names. I’m a champion, and I’ve built my name here in a short time. There’s no reason for you to throw me a weak opponent, when I’m standing here begging for the highest level of competition. I want to raise the value of this belt, and that can’t happen if I’m placed against opponents that are nearly winless.

Even though Broken Hart put on a stellar performance last Saturday, he isn’t championship material. He was winless in recent weeks, but he was still given a title match. And we still tore the house down. But if you want the fans to care about this belt like I do, Heyman is going to have to set me up with real challengers.

The point of this State of 'Savage Saturday Night' address is that I want to put everyone on notice. Heyman, I want you to find better competition for me. Since, I’m the champion here that defends my belt week in and week out, you might have to start hand picking my challengers because unlike Chaos, I’m going through a challenger every week. After I beat Brandon Moore, that’s going to be three wrestlers that I’ve taken down in a short amount of time. So find some more talent and start lining people up for me to face.

I want to be known as a great champion. And that starts with great challengers.

Now, I want to talk to the rest of the wrestlers here in XWF for a quick minute.

When you look at your goals and plans here, don’t overlook me. Don’t overlook the XWF Television Championship. New guys walk in the door thinking they’re the king of the world, and all they think about is the Universal Championship. If not, they look at Dolly Waters, and they want to challenge her to prove a point.

So if you’re lucky enough to get a shot at my gold, don’t you dare underestimate me. Every time a person has gotten in the ring with me, I’ve given them a fight that they’ll remember. Gabe Reno mocked me. He tried his best to attack my character and my beliefs. But we beat the piss out of each other for 15 minutes, and I walked out of the arena as champion. I’m as hungry for a win and a championship as each of the new competitors here. I want to hold onto this belt. Gabe Reno learned it. Broken Hart learned it. Barney Green and Jakob Davis both learned it when I won this championship.

So bring your ‘A’ game because the XWF Television Championship is the belt of XWF’s only fighting champion.”

The scene fades to black as Thomas Nixon pats the belt on his shoulder and walks off the set.

* * *

Everything is coming to fruition. All of my hard work is finally starting to pay off in tangible ways that my opponents cannot deny.

PATROL holds both the trios championships and the television championship. Not only do we have the gold, but I’ve already racked up two defenses. Both of those matches stole the show and burned the house down. I’m not just a midcard champion. Last week, I main evented the event and delivered in giving the fans their money’s worth. Broken Hart and I put on a fucking clinic in my first ever main event match up. That victory solidifies me as a main event player.

The only set back we’ve faced is the injury of Jervis Cottonbelly. He was brutally attacked by Chris Chaos, and he has failed to have a speedy recovery.

With that being said, PATROL has decided to begin scouting for a replacement. On the next episode of Wednesday Night Warfare, there is a three way match that has a few very appealing competitors. We are setting our eyes on Killjoy, Shandell Jones, and Duke Preston. We want to see how these men perform, and we may extend an invitation to one of the athletes to join our cause.

That resolution will help bring power and dominance to our unit. Although we don’t have any trios challengers at the moment, a stable could challenge us very soon. Broken Hart has allies. If they come looking for a fight, we need to be ready. The same could be said about Havoc.

Speaking of Havoc, I have my eyes set on Brandon Moore.

I’m happy with this match up. Brandon Moore, a relative new comer with more credentials than my last opponent, gets to duke it out with me. It’s not just the main event of Savage, we’re going to have a massive crowd in Times Square watching us beat the tar out of each other, as we bring in the New Year. Eyes that never have seen XWF will be exposed to the company and my revolutionary message.

This is a huge opportunity. Not just for me, but for Brandon Moore as well.

I’m still looked at as a newcomer in XWF, and that’s rightfully so, but this is my fourth championship bout and my second main event. Not to take anything away from Brandon, but this is his first title shot. This is his first match that has a specific time limit, and that changes the game quite a bit. Furthermore, this is his first singles match that is a straight wrestling match.

I watched Brandon go into his match with Isabella. He was insanely aggressive from the start and he did the most damage beating the piss out of her with weapons. That was a highly effective strategy given the situation, but our match will be a lot different.

You can’t count on chair shots and brawling ability. When you get in the ring on Saturday, there will be rules. And those rules don’t favor the aggression you’ve shown inside and outside the ring. Yes, Brandon, I read up on you and I heard the stories backstage. I hear about XWF having to bail you out because you get yourself into stupid fights. I heard all about your short temper and how people just set you off.

You aren’t going to win that way. You can’t beat a good wrestler in a straight match if that’s your attitude. You have no strategy. You have no technique. You clearly have flaws.

I’m really happy to see XWF put a wrestler against me that has a decent record. You’ve won a couple matches, and you’ve made yourself opportunities. With that being said, I’m your first real challenge. I’m the first opponent that you’re going to face that will expose every shortcoming you have. Nobody has pushed you to the limit.

The Television Championship brings out the best in people. When Broken Hart challenged me, most people thought he was a joke, but he came in with something to prove. He fucked up my nose, and I was bleeding for the latter half of the match. I had to dig down deep and keep concentrated. It’s tough to keep your composure when you see your own blood, but a champion needs to be able to do that.

This match will be a learning experience for you, Brandon. You haven’t experienced true competition up to this point, so this will be a big change from your previous matches. If you think you can waltz into our match and win a shiny new belt, then you’ll be in for a rude awakening. So take my advice, watch a few of my matches and train hard. I don’t want to embarrass you on the big stage.

I don’t want to build my namesake by beating bad wrestlers. I want you to bring the fight. And together, we’ll show the crowd and XWF management that we are the real deal and the XWF Television Championship means something.
