IT'S JUST A MATTER OF TIME BEFORE I HOLD ALL OF THE CHIPS

The sun is shining on an absolutely scoring hot day in beautiful Las Vegas as we slowly fade in to see Kristen Silver sat firmly in a chair outside the huge Mandalay Bay resort. The scene is heaving as various high rollers and holiday goers weave in and out throughout the background, all of them enjoying the beautiful heat, some relaxing on their sunbeds, some in the pool and others just casually socialising or minding their own business. Kristen's eyes aren't taking in any of what's going on around her though, instead they're planted firmly on the diary that's sat on the table in front of her, a pen in her hand and her mind a mile miles away as she disappears into her own thoughts.

And so another one looms. Another hurdle placed in front of me. Another chance for me to go out and show myself off to the world.

Yet still I sit in disappointment. Disappointment at being overlooked. At being shunned into the background and into the shadows. I've shouted till I'm blue in the face, but still they won't listen to me. I'm what matters, so why can't they see that? Why won't this world accept me? Why won't they serenade themselves in my glory?

"HELLOOOOOOOOO...earth to Kristen!"

Kristen lifts her head up to see Erin standing in front of her while waving her hand back and forth towards her. Completely lost in her thoughts, Kristen had somehow failed to realise Erin had returned from the bar, two iced cocktails already placed on the table and a bewildered smile on her face.

Erin: Are you feeling okay?

Grabbing her drink from the table, Kristen takes a sip through the straw before replying.

Kristen: I'm fine.

Erin sits down firmly in her seat across from Kristen, smiling across at her as she takes a sip on her own drink and relaxes back into her seat.

Erin: Good, you was starting to worry me. So, you want to know what I found out?

Just as she was about to sink her head back down and focus on her diary, Kristen has to raise her head back up to focus on Erin again.

Kristen: Found out about what?

Erin: Barney Green, silly. Are you sure you're okay?

Kristen quickly shrugs off Erin's concerns , her facial expression changing to her usual self.

Kristen: Erin, look at me. Do I look fine?

Erin: I'm not sure how you want me to answer that...noooeee---esss---yes?

Kristen: Look at me. When you look as good as me you don't need to worry about anything in this world.

Erin lets off a smile as she shakes her head and takes another sip on her drink.

Kristen: Look at him...seriously, look.

By now Kristen has picked her phone up from the table and shoved it towards the faces of Erin. The assistant of Kristen looks on towards the phone to see a picture of Barney Green on it.

Kristen: Does that look like somebody I need to know anything about?

Erin: Again, I'm not sure what answer you're looking for here...

Kristen: The answer is no, Erin. Once again I've been overlooked and overshadowed. I'm being fed bums...and no, not literally Erin before you make one of your ridiculous jokes.

Erin looks at Kristen with a half smile and half shocked look at that comment as if to say "Now would I really do that?".

Kristen: Who even is Barney Green? Who is he, Erin?

Erin: Well he's...errrr...he's Barney Green?

Kristen: Exactly, he's nobody. While everybody else is shot into stardom and pushed into the spotlight, here I am, held back, not being allowed to shine at the top where I belong.

Erin: You just have to bide your time.

Kristen: My times a precious thing, Erin. And I won't waste it anymore.

Erin takes a deep breath in as she leans back into her seat, taking a sip of her seat and resting her head back as the sun shines down onto her face. Kristen focuses her eyes back down onto her diary sat on the table, pen still in hand as she begins to finish what she was writing.

I'm better than this. Can't they see that? I'll show them. I'll show them all. And when I hold all of the chips, they'll have to recognise me. They'll have to celebrate me.

They'll have to love me.
