Where am I?

I can hear my own voice:

"I don't know?"

Suddenly I'm aware I am standing. But standing where? That is the next question.

My surroundings are blury, it's unlife like, yet it's life like.

Where am I? I hear myself say again.

"I don't know?"

I start walking, forwards, backwards, sideways, diagonally. How can this be? It's like I'm moving nowhere. But how can this be?

"I don't know!"

I try to grab my head to stop the blurriness. It doesn't stop. I can hear a voice. But I can't make out what it's saying. But I can hear myself talking.

"I can't hear you."

The voice speaks again, and I still can't hear it, yet again I hear myself talk.

"I still can't hear you. Where are you? Who are you?"

Suddenly I hear laughter. It's just one kind of laughter. An evil sinister laugh. It's coming from my right. Yet the voice I am hearing is coming from straight in front of me. I'm confused. I'm completely confused.

I look ahead, then I look to the right. The talking continues, and the evil laughter continues. Nothing that I can do can make the laughing or the talking stop, not even putting my hands over me ears.

Suddenly I feel like I am walking. I am walking. Walking forwards. Not to the right, but forwards.

I start hearing the voice clearer.

"Let me go."

I hear myself ask:

"Who?"

"Let me go."

"But who are you, and who are you talking to, to let you go?"

"You have to let me go."

I stop dead in my tracks. That voice, it sounds familiar.

Suddenly the evil laughter that I heard just before starts up again. It's getting closer.

I think to myself, please go away, please go away, please go away.

Suddenly I sink to my knees, and yell out.

"Please go away."

It's a haunting evil laugh. It goes right through my head. My view of the world that I am in starts to blur.

"You need to let me go."

The soft voice starts up again bringing me back to the world, to the time, to the place that I am currently in.

"Please, please, for your own good, you need to let me go."

I open my eyes and I look up. There she is. There she is. There standing in front of me is my Mother. All in white.

A shiver breaks over me.

"Mum?"

"Please 'M' you need to let me go. You need to forgive your Dad."

I just kneel there looking at how beautiful my mother is. The last time I saw her was in a hospital bed. With tubes and wires every where. I was only ten years old.

"I was only 10 Mum."

"I need for you to let me go. If you let me go, you can move on, you can heal your past. Let me go 'M'. Let me go."

I feel tears start to swell. I feel myself standing. I feel myself stretching my hand out towards my mother. I see her stretching her hand towards mine. We're about to touch when:

There's a flash of light. The evil laughter begins again, and then he's standing right in front of me. Right in between me and my mother.

He's standing there.

He's standing there.

Ruben. A Mitchell is standing between me and my mother.

The scar face man is standing there.

I stumbled backwards. But it's not Ruben A. Mitchell. It's a dream like figure acting as Ruben A. Mitchell.

I stumble back some more. He starts laughing again.

I can see my mother behind him. I can no longer hear her.

He stops laughing and speaks:

"You broke your promise to your mother did you know that. You promised her that you would work with your father, you promised her that you would be there for each other, you promised her that you would be good for her. And did you do all that 'M', did you?"

I can feel my tears coming.

"Go away."

The incarnation of Ruben starts laughing again. That evil laugh.

"You broke your promise to your mother 'M'."

I struggle within myself to move forwards, to try and lash out at the evil incarnation of Ruben. The more I try the further away he gets, the further away my mother gets.

Suddenly a huge wall appears on my left. It's not just any sort of wall. It's a cell wall.

Suddenly another wall appears on my right.

The incarnation of Ruben starts laughing some more.

I yell for my mother.

"Please Mum don't let him win."

"You need to let me go."

"Yes 'M' let her go. Let your mum go."

Suddenly another wall appears in front of me. Joining the right and left side. The wall stands between me, the incarnation of Ruben, and my mother.

"No you can't do this."

"Oh I can 'M', I really can do this."

Suddenly I look behind me, a wall appears behind me. Linking up the cage. I am now trapped inside of. I turn back to the front. I start yanking at the cell wall in front of me. I look up. The roof of the cell appears. I am now completely stuck.

The incarnation of Ruben starts laughing again. He starts moving his hands from an outwards motion to an inwards motion, and I hear the cage start creaking. Suddenly the cage starts closing in on me.

I sink to my knees still grabbing the front of the cage. The cage is closing in. Closing... closing.

"Mum please help me."

"You need to let me go Son. Let me go."

"She can't help you now boy."

Tears start running down my face some more. The incarnation of Ruben starts laughing harder, suddenly I see my mother disappear.

"Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo"

Before I know it, I'm just in a small tiny space, as the cage creeps closer and closer in on top of me. The incarnation of Ruben just stands in front of me, looking in from the outside smiling and laughing, and next thing I know, there is blackness.

Maria had been woken by Mastermind's tossing and turning. She heard words like 'Mother', 'Cages', 'Ruben A Mitchell' come out of his mouth whilst tossing around. She was very worried.

Suddenly he opened his eyes, and shot straight to a sitting position placing his head in his hands.

MARIA: "Are you okay Babe?"

Mastermind shook his head, he was trembling. She'd never seen him like this before.

MARIA: "Come to me."

Maria sat back, and Mastermind leaned backwards putting his head on her lap. Slowly she started stroking his head, and rocking.

"Please don't leave me Maria, please don't ever leave me."

MARIA: "I'm not going anywhere babe. You know this. I'm marrying you. Your stuck with me for life now."

"Good."

MARIA: "Whatever is happening we'll get through it together. Whenever you are ready to talk about what just happened then we'll talk about it."

Maria continued to rock Mastermind in her lap until he calmed down.
