I'm not in this contendership match for the glory of earning a belt.
I'm not in it for fame, money, or notoriety.
I could care less about any of those things.
What I am interested in, however, is usurping the reigns of power and destroying them so they never fall into the hands of corrupt individuals.
So why did I choose Pest as my partner?
I chose him because I knew we'd stand a chance in this match.
I knew that choosing a fighter of that caliber, we'd be able to receive a shot at the current champions.
He has done some things that go against our moral standings, yes, but we choose not to look into those happenings at the moment.
There are two people standing in our way, however.
Two women by the names of Satoko and Jill Lorder wish to earn a shot at the current champions themselves.
They're confident enough to go for the top despite being here for only a couple of matches.
Courage is one of the many things that competitors are lacking in many of the wrestlers today.
Kudos.
However, it's going to take a lot more than courage to earn a shot at the metaphorical top.
It's going to take skill, charisma, self confidence, and the determination to completely destroy the dreams of others in order to come anywhere close to victory.
Do you believe that you can destroy us to destroy my need to demolish those belts?
We'll find out on Tuesday if you truly have what it takes.
For now, just know that there are know true heroes in this federation.
There are only opportunists.
We fade in on Caleb and Melissa in the same room she chose to seclude herself in. She is seen eating a $5 foot long from Subway that Caleb bought for her on his way here. She hasn't eaten much of the sandwich and she is shaking like mad. Either there's something in the sandwich that she is very hesitant to eat or she just doesn't like Subway. No matter what the cause is, Caleb rubs her back to try and comfort her. Instead of any sort of positive emotion, she moves away from his hand or anything to do with the student turned mercenary. Caleb rolls his eyes and sits next to her on the bed, all the while making sure she eats what's been given to her.
Caleb: Is there something wrong, Melissa? I had that sandwich made just the way you like it. No lettuce, no sauce, cheddar cheese, pastrami, tomato, and mayo.
Melissa: It's not the sandwich. It's something else.
He raises an eyebrow as Melissa takes another small bite out of her sandwich. She notices his curious look as she swallows what little of the sandwich she bit into.
Melissa: I just don't really trust those bandaged men, you know? I mean, I know that they're supplying me with a small room for me until I recover, but what exactly do they want from me? Do they need information that I somehow have? Are they holding me hostage just because they can? I need to know before I panic and use this sandwich to kill people!
Caleb: I didn't think that such a thing was possible.
Melissa: Oh, I can find a way!
This time she takes a huge bite out of her sandwich that almost takes a whole inch off of her footlong. Caleb scratches his head nervously as she continues to scarf down that sandwich he bought for her.
Caleb: Well, it's not that they want to hurt you, no not at all. That would completely go against their morals of human safety. They just want you to consider joining their ranks. A soldier for the cause, you know?
Melissa: And what kind of cause is that, dare I ask? I'm just an elementary school teacher, what can I offer to a group of mummies that want to change society as a whole? Am I supposed to force children into this war?
Caleb: That's not what I'm saying at all!
Melissa: Well then what are you saying?
Caleb: I'm just saying that you have...
He sighs as her eyes shoot open accusingly at him. She keeps this look for a few moments before he manages to break the silence.
Caleb: I'm just saying that you'd be surprised what opportunities await you. Hell, I was a normal high school student before I was taken under their wing, so who knows what they might have in store for you. Hell, I'm the scout for them, so who knows what they need you for.
Jack: For now, she's needed with me. Melissa, would you kindly step out of the room real quick? I'll explain everything to you in the hall.
She looks like she's going to argue, but she's held back by the seemingly unmoving eye that's locked onto her. After a few seconds, she sighs and proceeds to walk out of her room, leaving Caleb and Jack on their own. He closes the door and walks up to Caleb, who's really confused as to what's going on and what Jack wants with Melissa.
Caleb: Am I missing something here? What do you need her for?
Jack: You're missing quite a bit, actually. Me and her are going to visit Pest to discuss strategies for our tag match. Well, me and her are anyways. I would like for her to talk to Barbie about trust and how sometimes appearances can be wildly deceiving.
Caleb: But that man has a dildo crown on his head! He beats Barbie and posts photos of her to the internet!
Jack: Regardless of whether or not that's true, there have been worse things posted on the internet. Besides, the internet mostly takes issue with animal abuse, not domestic abuse.
Caleb: You can't seriously be basing millions upon millions of people on the internet off of 4chan users.
Jack: If people throw the race card around without understanding what it should be used for then I should be able to get away with this.
Caleb: You know, I just don't know what you see in that guy. I just don't trust him to get what you want.
Jack: You know, you and everyone else have been having the same issue with Melissa, have we not? Maybe talking to Barbie would help her understand that you just have to trust others when the times get tough. Even if that person isn't really the nicest one towards you.
Caleb: How the fuck is that supposed to be helpful at all?!? For all you know, you're endangering her life towards a complete stranger!
Jack: At least this stranger won't kill her on sight. If you aren't going to be supportive, don't bother coming at all.
There is some silence, neither person can get a word in at this moment. This carries on for a few more seconds before Jack turns around and leaves Caleb behind. The scene slowly fades out with no sort of action, sentence, or thought.
