CONTINUATION OF PART 2 OF: THE SIX: SUPPORTING TONY AND 'M'
CHAPTER 2 PART 2
Previously, The Six are now 12 years old. It’s their last year at Primary School.
Tony had a successful debut season for the Otago Primary School 1st XI, they were now talking about him for the South Island Primary School 1st XI.
'M' was being talked about as a prospect for the Otago Primary Schools Wrestling Team. That would be a stepping stone to something bigger.
Tony made the South Island XI as a middle order batsman who could bowl medium pacers. He and the South Island XI had just lost their first match.
GAME #2:
NORTH ISLAND PRIMARY XI Vs SOUTH ISLAND PRIMARY XI
AT HAMILTON
In Game 2 in Hamilton, the North Island XI won the toss and put the South Island XI into bat first, and like in Auckland, South Island XI were 3 wickets down early. This time with just 15 runs on the board.
Also like in Auckland, both Captain Freddie Sam, and Vice Captain Alistair Quilks staged a great fight back. They were 125 for 3 when mid way through the afternoon session Freddie lost his wicket. As they passed, with Tony heading out and Freddie heading in, Freddie stopped him.
FREDDIE: “Play your natural game Boyd, get yourself set, and then help Quilks the best you can.”
TONY: “Okay.”
4 balls later Quilks was gone, now Tony felt the onus was on him to get the South Island XI out of trouble. He started well enough but when on 15, he misjudged another ball and found like in Auckland his wickets were up ended.
When he came back into the dressing room, Freddie walked over to him.
FREDDIE: “That was better innings Boyd, more of that next time, and we may have a chance.”
TONY: “Why are you so positive Freddie?”
FREDDIE: “I’m the captain, that’s what I’m suppose to be. But I see something in you Boyd, something tells me a giant is about to awake and destroy the North Island XI soon enough.”
The last of the wickets soon crumbled leaving the South Island XI all out for 152. Well short.
Later on that night, Tony spoke on the phone to Jack, 'M' and Sam.
JACK: “You guys will just have to bowl well tomorrow,”
TONY: "152 is well inside their range, after Auckland.”
SAMANTHA: “Just believe, And you can do it.”
TONY: "Easier said than done when you’re on the opposite side of what’s going on.”
'M': "Just bowl well tomorrow.”
TONY: "I'll try.”
The next day by the time Tony came on the match looked dead and buried. The North Island XI opening partnership had made 102 for no wicket, when Tony was chosen to have a bowl. They were 50 runs away with plenty of time in the match.
FREDDIE: “This is not your fault, Just bowl the best you can..”
TONY: "IOkay.”
His first over showed that the openers were really uncomfortable with his pace. His second over proved to be a great eye opener to what was to come in the series.
He got rid of one of the openers lbw, with a great delivery. He then for the next few overs managed to tie the other batsmen tied down.
In his last over, he managed to snag the second opener out with a great delivery that caught a snick and went through to the keeper.
From there he was rested, but then the other bowlers snagged two more wickets to have the North Island XI reeling, but the damage by the openers had been done, and when two further wickets fell they were 10 runs away.
But the insight was there get rid of the two openers, and then put pressure on everyone else, the rest of the 8 wickets would fall.
The North Island XI went 2 nil up in the series, as the remaining batsmen meandered their way to the win.
Back in Dunedin, Tony was looking more positive sitting around with his friends.
TONY: “All we have to do is plan a way to take out the openers and then from there we have a look in,”
SAMANTHA: “That’s great, Maybe if you even the next two games up in Wellington and Christchurch, the match here in Dunedin will be the decider.”
TONY: “Freddie reckons if I can just get in and be positive, that along with him and Quilks, I’m the 3rd best batsman in the team. That says a lot.”
JACK: “It means in order to win the next three games, you are going to have to show the selectors what it means to bat, And you can do that.”
TONY: “We’ll see, I have a plan now.”

Read it with God and you will feel the truth.
Read it without bias and you will feel peace.
Don't read it at all and you will not feel a thing.”

The Roosevelt Hotel
New York City
It was just hours away from Monday Night Madness, and as the cameras fade in to the Hotel Room of Mastermind, he was seen packing up. He had to get to Madison Square Gardens for XWF's King of the Ring. Once he finished that, he had to get to China, where he was participating at Wednesday Night Warfare in a singles match against Monolith.
Mastermind checked the time.
"There is never enough time, that's what I know. I've only got a brief amount of time, to work on this Promo, before I have to get Madison Square Gardens.
"Monolith at this very moment you are not on my mind, only 5 people are, but I can tell you once tonight ends, you will be on my mind, as I rush to China to compete against you."
Mastermind smiles as he zips up his bag.
"But I will say this though, I hope you are ready for me Monolith, I know that I will be once I leave Madison Square Garden. I have plans laid out for you.
"Read into it what you will, but I know how you should be reacting. I will feel your sorrow, your hate, your anger, your vengefulness, when I beat you 1... 2.. 3
"I will also feel your paranoia, your confusion, when I crush you in my mind controller and make you tap out.
" I will feel a bit empathetic and a little bit of compassion when you are rolling round, recovering to try and figure out what happened when I end our match.
"There will be no love, there will be no flattery, there will be no hope, and I am Positive I will be the one to end the match on a winning high, it's not with humor or with joy that I want this to happen, it's just what it is, it's just business.
"The truth is when I thrash you into smithereens, and you'll be praying to god for forgiveness, and you'll be praying to me to let you out of the Mind Controller, and once you do you will feel at peace, and I will too knowing that I beat you 1... 2... 3 or that you tapped out.
Mastermind laughs and picks up his bag, and looks around the room to check that he hasn't left anything behind. He heads for the door and stops.
"Even if you don't read into it, the same thing will happen. You will still feel everything that I will send your way. It's your unlucky week that you are facing me. I've turned a corner, and I'm moving on fowards and upwards."
The camera fades out as Mastermind leaves the room.
