Well, this is it.

Daniel says as he and Beth walk over to the Lamborghini that is parked on the roadside.

Bull. Shit. Just because I don't really know you doesn't mean I'll believe you own a car like... this.

Daniel laughs dismissively, taking the car-keys out of his pocket and handing it over to Beth, with the car badge facing up.

...No way.

Shrugging, he adds:

Try it.

Of course, Beth tries to unlock the car and, much to her surprise, it clicks open. Letting out a squee, she runs to the driver's side and hops in, starting the car before Daniel can even open his door.

Okay, you must have rented this or something to impress me.

I only knew you exited about an hour ago. How could I have done that, and have the keys in my apartment ready?

Eh, for all I know you could have. Other than your name I don't know a thing about you, Daniel.

Exactly; you don't know a thing about me.

Pulling out onto the empty street, Beth begins the short drive back to the hotel, almost immediately pouncing on Daniel for questions.

So how do you have something like this?

Hey!

What!? You're staying in the hotel and you have a Lamborghini just down the street for some reason, and as you said I have no idea who you are... first impressions are hard to erase.

Daniel rolls his eyes and tuts.

Tell me about it.

Alright then, how about this...

Tell me, what do you do for a living.

Well, you know that arena that's pretty close-by in town?

Beth stops at a traffic light and turns her head slightly to 'her' passenger, being able to see the lights in the corner of her eye.

Oh, for that wrestling company? What do you do, clean there or something?

No, actually. I perform there.

She fully turns to him with her mouth wide open.

What!? Shut the fuck up!

He nods, believing her own disbelief.

Yeah, yeah, no seriously I do. That's how I'm able to afford the hotel room.

Wow, really? I would've thought you'd get paid more than that, seeing as, you know, that's one of the lowest-paid room. You should strike or something.

Daniel tuts again, sputtering out a laugh.

Believe me, I'm trying.

Oh?

Trust me, it's complicated. You might understand if you watched it.

Oh, I see.

A car's horn noises off from behind, signalling for Beth to go. Beth turns around and sees a green light, accelerating the car through. Unfortunately, she had not been paying attention to the lights before, as they change to red as she does drive through, leaving the already annoyed driver still in traffic.

So did you get this car from that job?

This!? Oh, God, no. I'd never be able to afford this in four months, especially with all that's been going on.

Really?

Yeah. Actually, a friend gave it to me... in fact she gave it to me quite a while ago, now that I think about it.

She, huh? Does little Daniel have a girlfriend?

She had said that jestingly, nudging Daniel a little as she had.

No, nothing like that. Just... something that happened a while back.

Beth rolls her eyes as she turns the last corner toward the parking lot of the hotel.

You're full of mysteries, Daniel, I'll tell you that much.

Mysteries? Like I said, I met you an hour ago. I'm not the kind of guy to tell strangers about my life whenever they choose to poke their nose into it.

Well, you'd better tell me more about yourself when we go for coffee.

Beth parks the car and exits it, sliding the keys across the roof to Daniel.

I guess I should... although you'll have to owe me a couple favours then.

A couple?

Well, yeah. 1. You're gonna find out more about me and 2. You drove my Lambo.

Oh, alright, then! ...But how about I take one of those favours and tell you a little about myself too?

Daniel laughs and shrugs.

Only seems fair.

Thought so.

The two put their hands in their pockets and begin to walk toward the hotel, in silence for probably the first time. They both exit the lot and begin to walk seperate ways on the pavement, not realising they were walking away from each other for a second. The both smile, and they silently wave their good-bye. It's not until they've both walked away a little that Beth calls out to Daniel.

I can't quite get why you have that car, you know. Especially since you can't drive it!

Daniel turns around to see Beth standing in the middle of the sidewalk.

Don't think I'm going to just give it to you!

But it's Christmas!

And I hardly even know you!!

Beth shakes her head and begins to laugh.

Point taken.

She's laughing maybe a little too hard, going into a fit of hysteria, giggling and chuckling away. Daniel begins to laugh at this and walks back over to her, as she wobbles on the spot, barely able to stand. Perhaps it's because of the wind, which had suddenly picked up, sending her long, blonde hair into a flurry.

Daniel holds her steady and looks her in the eye.

Hey, I didn't think it was that funny! Jeez!

She's shaking her head, as tears well in her eyes from laughing too much, still giggling, even now.

I can't breathe!

Daniel, who is now laughing too, brings her to the wall by her arms, helping her sit down against it, he sits down with her and waits for her to cool down before speaking.

Happy now? Let it all out?

She brushes her hair back and nods, seeming to avoid looking Daniel in the eye.

Yeah, I guess.

Listen, you'd better go now. You don't need to be worrying about little me.

Daniel stands, about to go.

What made you think I was worrying?

Beth laughs and slaps Daniel's knee in response, too light-headed to even come up with an actual answer.

Yeah, I'll go now. Although I'm not quite sure how you found that funny.

She looks up at him with a red face, which could be embarrassment, anger, or just the cold... or maybe the lack of breath. She shrugs.

I don't even know...

As if it's a contagious disease or something, Daniel shrugs in response, turning to leave.

I'll see you, Beth.

He waits for her to respond, but he doesn't get an answer. Without another word from himself, he leaves, heading back toward the hotel.

Beth, however, stays sitting, tracing her fingers through the frost, as if lost in thought or something. She looks up to where her acquaintance was just a few seconds ago, now just looking at the distant clouds over the building tops. The edge of her lips perk up in a cheeky smile, and to no one in particular, she says:

Good-bye... Daniel...
