I'd Rather Fight
Marshall Cage is seen in his Jin outfit, holding his hands together in a prayer position. He seems to be concentrating on something. He pulls his hands apart, and he gets in a fighting stance. The scene pans over to reveal his PS3 hooked up to a TV with "Tekken Tag Tournament 2"s Character Select Screen on while Christie Kitana is seen in her Christie outfit with a controller in her hand.
Come on Marshall! Can we hurry up and play?
Marshall notices her small laugh. He could not afford to laugh at her apparent "joke". He must win. He rolls forward, kipping up, grabbing the controller, and selecting, of course, Jin. Before he clicks on it, he looks at Christie. She was such a beautiful specimen. A worthy opponent. Marshall looks back and selects the arena and the match begins. Jin and Christie are seen standing face to face, and Marshall looks at Christie, this time watching her slight movements as her gentle hand goes over the controller, pushing buttons.Suddenly, the sight of the buttons returns Marshall to reality! The game is on! Marshall looks back at the screen to see Jin getting kicked by the dancing Christie, and Marshall quickly presses a combo in his controller, causing Jin to hit a few strikes, then an uppercut to Christie, sending her in the air. Marshall performs a bound attack, which causes Jin to hit Christie, practically forcing her to the ground. Marshall attacks again with a strong kick, and Jin performs the kick, causing Christie to break the wall! Marshall laughs, quickly scaling up to see her health bar be at 1/4 of the way, and then almost immediately Christie gets up and grabs Jin, and Jin is sent flipping in the air. Christie hits a few low kicks to Marshall, and the real Christie is seen getting into the game, pushing the buttons harder and harder while getting ready to shout at the TV. Marshall manages to avoid a block and then grab Christie, cracking her back in a shattering movement with Jin's knee. Jin hits one more big kick, and it's over. Marshall has won Round 1.
Come on Marshall! You always win! No fair. I'm getting bored of this, can we play a different game?
Marshall saw the poor loser seem distraught over the loss. This was a new version of the Christie he knew. She NEVER lost that easily, and then ALWAYS asked for a rematch when she did lose.... Marshall decided to investigate.
Like what Christie?
Marshall witnessed the woman stand up, and come closer to him. She put a hand on his shoulder, and Marshall was confused, disoriented, and nervous. What was going on?! This is something Marshall has never witnessed before, in a game nor in real life. What was this madness?! Christie had leaned close to him, and whispered something to Marshall he was too confused to listen to. Something about following her..... Marshall just nodded and gulped. Christie proceeded to walk into... her bedroom? Marshall had known she hadn't had any games of any sort in there...
You're sure this is a game... Right?
Very much so Marshall...
The door closed right before Marshall got there.. He stood there, waiting, and then he patiently waited. Enough time had passed, and he heard what sounded like.. giggling? From Christie. He knocked.
Come in!
Marshall stared in shock after he had opened the door. He had quickly closed it and walked back to Tekken and proceeded playing. Christie came out, her top being wrinkled and not properly adjusted, showing it must've been put on in a hurry.
Listen Christie, I don't know WHAT you were thinking... but I clearly wasn't thinking the same..... I was thinking like, Tekken, Mortal Kombat, you know, actual GAMES and-..
Marshall... Am I not pretty enough for you?
What are you talking about? I don't see how that has to do with anything....
Well, why wouldn't you.... You know....
Marshall looked at the woman, who was now blushing a bit with a frown of sorts on her face. Marshall didn't understand. He simply wanted to play a game... Maybe he should explain to her
Listen Christie, nothing about you is driving me away from that. What's driving me away from that is how my honor of fighting is stronger than the lust craving you are trying to pass by me. Any other man may have been glad to do such a thing, but I cannot, as I must spend time practicing in the arts of fighting. Kicking, punching, strategy, psychology, everything I do has to be specifically modified to fit my every opponent and I must learn the fighting styles of over 40 people ranging from Eddie to Kuma the Bear to Heihachi. I must learn and master these. So why wouldn't I rather do that? Because it's not beneficial in my will to fight, and I m use that will to power myself in a victory. This'll be my first match, so why would I want to regret a single movement I make, when I could just continue fighting, and then honestly say that I gave it all. What thrills you and what thrills me must be two completely different things. What thrills me? The thrill of experiencing a fight, of experiencing a test of strength, skill, and knowledge as your every movement is wisely thought out because it could be your last. That's what I'm looking forward to, and that's why in this situation? I'd rather fight. So, if that's what it takes.... I will see you around. But for now, it is time for my to train.
As Marshall sits back down to play, he sees Christie looking onward. Christie just looks at him with a smile, and then sits down beside him, picks up a controller, and gets ready to pick. Marshall nods at her, and they begin fighting in round two.....
