XWF Inside The Ropes Interview: Kyle Morrison

Kyle Morrison: "My first MMA fight was in an organization called the CWA or the Cage Warrior Association, against this man named LaMarcus Lamar. I was nervous, for sure, this guy came out swinging, but once I got his rhythm down, I let my arms down, ducked away from his punch, and BOOM BOOM, one two, jab, hook, and he went down like a pile of bricks. KO in the 1st round."

"I fought in the CWA 4 times and won 4 times by first round KO or TKO, and then Greg Jackson told me that the World Fighting Alliance was interested in having me in for a few fights. The WFA is famous for being a place where some of the best went before or after their careers in the UFC. Guys like Rampage Jackson, Matt Lindland, Urijah Faber..and I got the chance to go there and fight. Fought there 3 times and won all 3, 2 by first round TKO, 1 by first round submission."

"My last MMA stop was to Bellator MMA and I fought 4 fights there, won 2 by 1st round submission, 1 by KO, and 1 by TKO. My most notable fight there was actually my last fight, I fought this guy named Vladimir Matyushenko. He actually was a man who had faced guys like Tito Ortiz and Jon Jones in the UFC, so he was definitely a step up, but I knocked his ass out."

Kyle laughs and throw his now-empty bottle of water out of the ring

"I am 11-0 in my MMA career, and I enjoy the fights and enjoy the challenge, and I am always looking for that next big challenge. So when Andrew called me and told me that Paul Heyman was looking to sign new talent to the XWF, despite my lack of experience in professional wrestling training, I jumped at the chance to meet up with Paul Heyman and he gave me an interview and a tryout. He told me to go and spend a little time and get some professional wrestling training in me and then we would officially sign me to the roster."

"So that's when I met up with Rudy Gonzalez at the Texas Wrestling Academy, and then I got to work with him and some of his students, and I got the chance to work with guys like Shawn Michaels and Bryan Danielson for a bit and that was an amazing experience. Bryan was actually the one who showed me the move that I call the "Full Throttle"."

"Called back Heyman, and here we are. It has been quite the journey so far. I have hit a few bumps in the road early on, but nobody said this was going to easy. Life ain't easy, you hit your bumps in the road, you hit those hurdles. But you know what, like I've said a million times, I love me a challenge. And that's what these first few weeks have been. And it's the challenges that make me work harder, work stronger, work to become better and better every day, and that is what I do. I am still relatively new at this, I am only going to get better and better in every facet, my wrestling, my MMA, my professional wrestling technique, I WILL only get better and better and it ain't just a catchphrase, it's a way of life, when I say that I won't stop until the job gets done. And the job is to become the best I can possibly be.

"The job is to become a champion. And this ain't just a catchphrase either, to be the best, you gotta beat the rest, and I will overcome the challenges and I will beat the rest on my road to the top, because I won't stop working and I won't stop until I knock each and every person that Heyman throws in front of me out cold or make them scream and tap or make them pass out. I don't come to lay down, I come to win each and every night. And I won't stop until the job is done, and that job is be the best. To be a champion. I am Kyle "The Machine" Morrison, and I will be a champion one day. Because I am only getting better and I won't stop until I am the best."
