(He was broken. Bruised. Physically and mentally exhausted.

The past weekend had stretched Centurion to his physical limits. Two brutal matches in two days, facing off against four incredible competitors who gave Centurion all they had. For any competitor, those two matches would have been enough to wear them down. For a 42 year old former retiree, it was like entering Ironman.

And now, not even 24 hours after XX, still with bandages on from the beating he took, Centurion had to hop on a flight back to Ireland. And he gets there with nothing set up - no hotel, no transportation, nothing. He has had to scramble last minute, make some texts, and hope things work out.

We open up late at night outside the Dublin International Airport. Centurion is sitting on a bench, gym bag on his lap, and his phone in his hand. The most recent text message he received illuminates his face.

Quote: Greensleeves:
Someone will be there to get you and take you to your place.

Centurion breaths a sigh of relief. Pat comes through for him again. The thought of moving to Ireland full time had crossed Centurion's mind. It's peaceful here, he has friends here, and given how often the XWF tours in Europe, he wouldn't have to worry about the travel.

Centurion closes his eyes. Two rough matches and a tough day of travel has left Centurion looking for sleep. He begins to lose consciencness on the bench, when he is awakened by the sight of headlight. Centurion squints into the darkness, trying to get a glimpse of the car and the driver, but to no avail.

The car stops in front of Centurion. Centurion again tries to make out the driver, but he is unable to. Still, he gingerly stands from the bench, wincing as he gets to his feet. He puts his phone back in his pocket and goes to walk towards the passenger side door. As he does, however, the driver side door opens. Centurion stops in his tracks as a woman steps out. The red haired woman in long, black boots steps out. She turns to face Centurion, her elbows on the hood of the car.

Centurion is frozen. He didn't know what he was expecting. Maybe someone random. Maybe one of Pat's friends. But not this. Not...

Centurion: ...hi Allison.

------Woahh ohhh ohhh ohhh ohhh ohhh------

Boy, did I strike a nerve.

I'm sorry for not knowing who you are, Mark, but it isn't my fault you haven't done anything worth a shit in this federation. What, do you expect everyone to go on the web site and read the bio pages? I'm sorry, but I'm a busy man. I don't have time to waste, doing research on people and things I don't give a fuck about.

You're going to have to forgive me if I never get accustomed to you. It's clear, hearing you talk, that you don't have much of a future ahead of you. Not because skill, though I doubt you have any of that, but because of sheer stupidity. You think Azrael is the biggest threat to you in this match? Ok, fine. You can disrespect me all you want - I'm used to it - but I seriously hope you don't actually think that. Azrael is no good. And seeing and hearing more from Scully, he's no good, either - but I'll get to those two later.

You're just like every other rookie who comes to the XWF. You call me "old" and "out of touch", you call Barney Green "fat" and "untalented", and you heap praise on Azrael and Scully because you have nostalgia glasses when it comes to the stars of the Shane era.

Word of advice, Mark - don't claim someone is the "same old person" when you didn't even bother to do research on that person. You know nothing about me or my life. The only thing you know about me is a) I've been around for a long time, and b) I thought you were a professional golfer. Everything else you said was just filler - lines used by previous opponents against me that you stole in an effort to make it look like you know what the hell you're talking about. The fact is, you're all pissy because I didn't know who you were, so you're throwing a little temper tantrum.

If you really want people to know who you are, just call yourself Miss Michelle's husband. I kind of know her. She's the red head who I see always trying to fuck James Raven. I think she also wrestles once and a while, but it is rather odd that a married woman would call herself Miss Michelle. Maybe this is some sort of cuckold fetish thing. Either way, I'm not into it.

You could use a little humility. For some unknown reason, you have a giant ego. Maybe it's because know one has knocked you down a peg yet. That's ok - I'm more than willing to provide this service, free of charge. It will make you a better wrestler in the long run, I can guarantee it.

...maybe I should avoid using the word "peg" around Mark Brooks. It might give him the wrong idea.

Marky Mark brought up a decent point though - why am I in the Hart Title scene and not the Universal Title scene? Or, at least, he WOULD have made a decent point had I not fought tooth and nail for the Universal Title just days ago. You should watch that match, Mark. It was a hell of a match. In the end, Robert Main pinned me. No shame here. I'm going to let you know something - if you were to fight Robert Main, you'd be pinned, too. In fact, you wouldn't last nearly as long as I did.

I'm fighting for the Hart Title because a) I never won it before, and b) that's the match I was put on. I'm not one of these wrestlers who go backstage and whine and moan until I get the exact matches I want. I tell the front office I'm available to work, and they book me. That fucking simple, dude. Besides, the Universal Title scene is a bit crowded at the moment. I'd rather rattle off a few easy wins against some nameless cucks while I wait for that situation to resolve itself.

Still, being a nameless cuck is better than whatever the hell Scully is. I'm going to have to revise my math - Scully is now at negative 10 percent chance to win. There were a few things I knew about Scully, but there was one very important detail I was not let in on.

You lost to Peter Gilmour? Really? You know who never lost to Peter Gilmour? Me. This is why I'll never understand the Era nostalgia. Folks from my era never lost to Gilmour. If they did, they would be cast out of the XWF, likely forever. But Scully? He's the one personally responsible for handing the Universal Title over to that dumpster fire, and yet he's still somehow getting title shots. You can't claim Vinnie Lane isn't a kind person. If I was in Lane's shoes, the only job Scully would have in the XWF would be in the cafeteria.

I want to take this time to formally apologize to Big D. For months, I was ragging on him for taking Peter Gilmour and Rain for his Wargames Team and leaving Scully for the end. Now I completely understand why. Not only is her barely average as a wrestler, but he's also annoying as fuck. The combination of those two things would make me want to keep Scully off my team, as well.

I have seen a thousand Scully's in my career. He's the kind of person who gets a taste of success and suddenly believes himself to be great. He won the Universal Title once and never worried about improving after that point. He will retire with a completely trash record, everyone forgetting who he is, his body in shambles, and he'll still be like "at least I won the Universal Title."

Everything else that Scully was completely incomprehensible. He needs to start taking his ADD medication before he does interviews.

And then there's Barney Green. I can't believe I've turned into the Barney Green defender, but everyone else in this match attempting to disrespect and disparage Barney has forced that hand upon me. Let me say, first, that Barney has lost a lot of weight. He's down over a hundred pounds from where he was the last time I was here. He should get credit for that. Everyone who calls him a "fat sack of shit" or whatever is lying. They use the same insults against him for the same reason they use the same insults against me - because creativity isn't rewarded, and old jokes still get a laugh out of the dumbest people. In case you didn't know, Barney is also bisexual and like trans women. Toss those into your insults next time. It's not like Barney has never heard it before.

I can come to Barney's defense for one big reason - because I'm confident enough in my skills as a wrestler that I don't need to resort to the same old hack practices. I know I can beat Barney. Hell, I've done it before. So why tear the guy down and diminish his accomplishments? How is that going to change the outcome of this match? More importantly, how would that make me look good. If I tear down Barney Green, and I win, then I will have accomplished nothing. If I tear him down, and somehow lose, that makes me look like a real fool. It's pro-wrestling 101, though many in this company are too stupid to grasp that idea.

I wish you the best, Barney, but this is not where you will succeed. If it were some other situation and some other time, I would be rooting for you, but you're going up against me now. I'm not some punk kid looking to make a name for myself by beating an older star. I'm a legend looking to ride into Relentless and walk out as the Hart Champion. Barney, you know me well enough to know, if I have a goal in mind, I eventually accomplish it.

If I do have one piece of advice for you, Barney, is to quit feeling so sorry for yourself. Some horrible shit has happened to you. Welcome to the club. Someday we'll sit down and compare financial losses. You've overcame a lot, though. You're more respected by your peers than you ever were. Don't listen to some bullshit rookies who don't know what they're talking about - listen to those who have seen your progression since the beginning.

I must say, I am very disappointed. I expected some fire out of Azrael Errors. He's the one who talks shit to everyone. Yet the moment he comes face to face with people who are going to punch him in the face, he suddenly has nothing to say. Perhaps he's learned that he's bitten off more than he can chew. Or, perhaps he's crafting the perfect promo, where he uses the most elegant words and phrases to toss out insults that have never been heard before, causing us all to recoil in terror at what might come for us when we step in that ring.

...nah, I just think he's an idiot.

Here's the sad reality of the current day XWF. Azrael is going to walk into this match and get completely slaughtered. I will walk out as the winner, and likely walk out as Hart Champion from Relentless, as well. Still, for the next several months, I will be called "washed up" and Azrael will be called a "legend" who is "dangerous". This is the kind of thing I am working to fix. I'm not "resting on my laurels". I'm not letting my legacy or my accomplishments speak for themselves. I'm out there, almost every week, busting my ass to be one of the best in this federation. I will get one step closer to my goals, when Barney Green, Mark Brooks, Scully, and Azrael all meet their...
