(The journey of rebuilding and redemption for Centurion has gotten off to a good, yet slow start. A victory over Jack Nation showed the wrestling world that Centurion won’t completely turn to dust when he steps into a wrestling ring, but there is still far more that needs to be done before anyone can take Centurion seriously as a wrestler again.

We open up inside the C&C Inc. Training Facility that is currently under repairs. The place looks much better than the last time – power has been restored, the old equipment has been removed, and much of the previous dirt and grime has been cleaned up. Standing in the middle of the chaos is Centurion and Walter Crowe, both wearing jeans and a stained t-shirt – an incredibly unusual sight for the normally fancy dressed gentlemen. They have their hands on their hips and are staring into a corner of the room.

The fascinating sight they are staring at is Ric Fliehr, passed out on a giant, wireless industrial floor cleaner – think of a very large Roomba meant for factories and warehouses. The floor cleaner continues to move around the room, cleaning up the floor, with the passed out 70 year old not seeming to be bothered. He is wearing a suit that does not look all that dirty, implying he had not lifted a finger in the remodeling of the space. Walter just sighs and looks over at Centurion.)

Walter: Andy…what time is it?

(Centurion looks down at his watch and back over at Walter.)

Centurion: 1:30 P.M.

Walter: I mean…it’s just sad at this point.

Centurion: Leave him be. He’s had some problems lately.

Walter: He’s had problems his entire life.

(Centurion and Walter turn away from the depressing sight and look towards the ring – the one thing that has yet to be touched in the room. They slowly walk towards it as Centurion looks for the rundown from Walter.)

Centurion: Alright, damage report. What’s the deal with the ring?

Walter: It isn’t good. The wood is completely dry rotted. The springs are rusted out. The rope covers are a mess. The only things that remain in decent shape are the steel frame and the turnbuckles.

Centurion: Ok, but those are the most expensive parts. If we’re replacing the wood, the ropes, the springs, and the mat…we’re only looking at about a grand, aren’t we?

Walter: Something like that.

(Centurion and Walter get to the ring and Centurion runs his hand along the ring apron. The apron has the old “Centurion Enterprises” logo on it – a relic of a now lost organization. The feel of the apron brings Centurion back to an older time – not a better time, not a simpler time, just a time from long ago.)

Walter: What do you want to do with the apron?

(Centurion ponders the fate of the relic. It is a reminder of all the work that Centurion has accomplished over the years. It tells the tale of him creating a company from scratch and building it up to be a billion dollar company. It reminds him of when he was respected, even feared in some circles.

Yet, it also reminds him of what he has lost, and all the work he has to do to rebuild his shattered legacy.)

Centurion: Burn it. It’s not us anymore. I want to create a new brand, and a new legacy…something that signals rebirth.

(Walter slightly nods before speaking up.)

Walter: That’s all well and good, but we can’t just burn it. There are environmental laws in place. Do you want me to take it to the dumpster?

(Centurion doesn’t dignify Walter’s smart ass comment with a response – instead, he climbs onto the ring. He continues to inspect it as Walter puts his arms out in an attempt to stop him.)

Walter: I wouldn’t do that. It’s not sa…

(Before Walter can finish, Centurion steps his foot into the center of the ring, hitting a spot of dry rotted wood and causing his foot and leg to crash through the canvass. The sound of old wood crashing to the floor echoes throughout the room.

Followed by silence. Horrible silence. Neither Centurion nor Walter change their facial expressions, but it’s pretty clear what their thoughts are – Walter, while internally gloating over being right, is also super nervous that Centurion just injured himself one match into his comeback. Centurion, similarly, is angry that Walter gets the smug satisfaction of being right, which is drowning out the pain he is feeling in his leg. The silence lingers in the air for a few moments…

…only to be broken by the hum of the industrial floor cleaner slowly passing by, with Ric Fliehr still passed out on top of the machine. The break in the silence allows Walter to speak up.)

Walter: …are you ok?

(Centurion slowly lifts his leg out of the hole he created, wincing as he hits broken pieces of wood along the way. He finally gets it out of the hole, showing tears in his jeans and a slight amount of flood coming from his wounds.)

Centurion: …antiseptic, please?

(Walter scrambles to find first aid as Centurion hopes towards the edge of the ring. He sits down on the apron and rolls his pants leg up – a few cuts, but nothing too serious. Walter runs over with a bottle of antiseptic and a bandage. Clearly uncomfortable, Walter gets down on his knees and begins to tend to Centurion’s wounds. Spotting Walter’s uneasiness, Centurion takes advantage.)

Centurion: Ooo yeah, baby,[ rub a little higher.

(Centurion winces in pain as Walter presses the rag hard into his leg. Centurion laughs through the pain.)

Centurion: Worth it.

(Walter begins to wrap up Centurion’s leg and quickly changes the subject.)

Walter: We’re going to have a problem here. With all the money we’re putting into this place, we’re starting to get low on cash. You’re not wrestling enough matches to keep us turning a profit, and until you can get the reigns of your business back, I don’t know what we’re going to do. We aren’t going to have enough cash to complete the tasks we want.

(Walter finishes up the wrap and stands back up. Centurion continues to sit on the apron, pondering his next move. After a few seconds, he stands up.)

Centurion: I have a plan. I have some things stashed away for just this occasion.

Walter: “Things stashed away”? What are you talking about?

(Centurion gets a big smile on his face as he walks over the Walter and puts his hand on Walter’s shoulder.)

Centurion: How quickly can you get us to Greece?

No victory laps here.

You don’t take victory laps for things you’re SUPPOSED to do. You don’t brag about the fact that you hydrated and paid your taxes one day, and I’m not going to brag about the fact that I beat Jack Nation. I did the absolute bare minimum I needed in order to continue to be taken seriously as a professional wrestler.

I’m ready to move on…and by “move on”, I mean talk about another blast from the past that seems to have followed me to the modern day.

The Prophecy. The Fucking Prophecy. The greatest stable in the history of the XWF (#FuckTheBlackOrder). Ten years later, and here we are, riding again.

Well, ok, not exactly. Roxy Nova is probably out busking for tips at a gay bar in Buffalo, and Mia is likely blowing a dude behind a Sizzler, but still, James Raven and Centurion, riding together once again. It’s almost like XWF knew this episode of Warfare was going to struggle in the ratings post-Madness, and so they needed a “hook” to make sure people tuned in this week. A Prophecy Reunion? License to print money.

Though, they could have at least put us in the main event, instead of burying us in the middle of the show against two wrestlers with unfortunate names – I mean, come on, the lady’s last name is “Too.” I don’t even know what ethnicity that’s supposed to be! Still, regardless of why we fight, a Prophecy reunion is money. I just feel bad for the main event. You have James Raven and Centurion kicking ass for the first time since 7 BT (That’s 7 Before Trump, in case you didn’t know), and then immediately after that match is over, everyone is going to turn it over to basketball or some shit. And I’m sure the folks in the main event work real hard, though one of the competitors was born after I debuted, and the other is barely able to form complete sentences. They deserve to be watched like everyone else! Hey, maybe they’ll get the benefit of the over run.

I know nothing about our opponents. Don’t care, really. The story remains the same. Raven and Centurion walk in, kick some ass, and two people meet their…
