It isn't very often that a person changes their views on another, especially when given a first impression.
Lo and behold, Iris might have successfully managed to do so, despite her...interesting...mental status.
We weren't given much to work with, mostly because she talked so little.
When she did speak, she spoke as if everything could be resolved with hugs and kisses.
They obviously can't, but there's nothing wrong with trying to believe that.
People like her aren't seen around too often in today's world.
In terms of generosity and honesty, that is.
You've asked a few questions, and I plan on answering them to the best of my ability.
How is wrestling different from any other business on a psychological level, you ask?
Simple; traveling's an issue, not only is it paid out of your own pocket, it separates you from your family, friends, and any other people that you might end up missing along the way.
There's also the fact that you can get away with a lot more shit in this business, and no one will do a damn thing about it because they're too busy with their own problems.
It's not that it's a competition, it's the constant fear that you'll be back-stabbed by people that you thought were your friends, alongside your most bitter rivals.
You'll be more injury prone when you enter this business, especially in this federation, where there are no limits, no extremes, and no true friends.
As demonstrated by Pest's actions in the tag match, friends within the tag division, no matter if it's with one or two other people, are extremely hard to find.
The darker aspects of human nature are always the ones highlighted by everyone else.
You know the ones: greed, power, any sort of control over others; all of which are highlighted and encouraged in today's society.
Staying with your brother doesn't sound quite so bad anymore, does it?
The last time we left Kevin and Garret, they set up a backyard wrestling "federation" for the children they were supposed to be taking care of. They mostly set it up so that they could play the newest Call of Duty game without any interruptions from the children. Kevin managed to catch a glimpse the bandaged man, but he vanished from his sight before his friend could even see him. What the cameras didn't catch, however, was the brutal smash to the head Chubs took after getting hit with a shovel. Blood was profusely pouring from his skull as paramedics arrive on scene to carry Chubs to the hospital. The two teens look on in worry at the young, unconscious boy. They are not only worried about his well being, but also what would happen when the kid's parents would do when they come pick him up and how badly they'll be punished for letting these kids hurt themselves so.
Garret looks over to Kevin, who appears to be too petrified to do or say anything at the moment.
Garret: Hey man, I gotta run. Good luck with this, alright?
Kevin: Hey, wait!
Before Kevin could do anything, however, Garret has already jumped the fence and left him high and dry with shocked and possibly scarred children. He looks around and sees that many of them are silent with a few of them crying. "Xtreme Fire" is staring at his hands in disbelief, wondering what the fuck he just did to his friend and what will happen to him in the hospital. The kid has heard a lot of rumors about what it's like inside a hospital, so he has no idea what they'll do to Chubs once inside. Kevin, noticing that the kid seems to be trembling, walks over to him and pats him on the should for assurance that he will be alright.
Kevin: Don't worry, man. He'll be fine, he'll just need a couple of stitches, that's all.
XF, not wanting to hear what Kevin has to tell him, walks away to a more private area. One where he doesn't have to deal with the tophat wearing teen. Not really knowing what to do, Kevin walks back inside the house to dial up the parents and inform them of the situation. Maybe then they can come pick up the children so he can deal with this himself. However, the bandaged man is standing next to the phone with the wire cut. Shocked and dismayed, Kevin tries to warn the children to run away, possibly back to their parents if they could, but all of the kids have been replaced with nineteen similar bandaged men. Every single one of them are staring a hole right through the teenager, who backs up upon seeing them. What he doesn't remember is that the main leader of the group is standing right behind him.
He turns around and backs up to the wall of the living room. The bandaged man follows him slowly, step by step.
Kevin: Who are you?!? What do you want with me?!?
Jack doesn't respond to the teen, just moving ever closer to the teen as he backs even further into the wall, which isn't even possible.
Kevin: Look, I'm sorry for what I did, just please don't kill me! Please spare my life!!
The bandaged man tilts his head off to one side, as if questioning what the teenager just said.
Jack: What makes you so certain that I want to kill you? No, I have a heart as well as a conscience.
This appears to ease Kevin a bit, but not by much. He's still wondering just what the strange mummy will do to him, if anything. Just being in his presence leaves him feeling rather uneasy.
Jack: We've seen what you've done. It is a heinous act that we'd put people to death for if it were anyone else. However, you're a teenager, and you clearly didn't mean for things to get to this level. So, as much as I don't want to do this, I'm giving you two options.
This relaxes Kevin more, since he has a choice in what to do. But he's still uncertain, as he has no idea what the options are.
Jack: You can either atone for your actions by joining us for one of our crusades, to protect the children that you failed to watch over beforehand. Or you can swear that you will never let any child under your supervision to come unto any harm. There's a catch to the second option however; you see, even though you've given your solemn vow, you don't have our trust. One of us will be watching you when there are any children under your care, even if it's your offspring. It's your choice. What will you choose?
Kevin ponders his choices for a little bit, wondering what will be his best option. Before he can come up with an answer, the camera cuts to black before anything major can be revealed.
