Eli had informed everyone the church was in the midst of burning. He could no longer hear the screams which meant they had all been killed.

"We shall not mourn their death, for they chose to stay there. You all heard my warning.. they would all perish without a sign and they did. You followed me because you heard the truth and the seed was beginning to grow in you all quickly. Today, let us rejoice that the Almighty has saved you today. You are the chosen ones to spread the message around the world."

They were a little bit confused about everything, but couldn't deny they were alive because they chose to follow me. They are sacrificing their comfortable lives and homes to do this. Maybe they did this out of fear for their lives, or maybe they actually believed what I was telling them. It didn't matter. This was the beginning of something beautiful.

Everyone gathered their belongings and came back to the very place that let you know you were leaving the town. They stood there.. some with tears in their eyes thinking about the ones they had known for a long time were no longer with us. They had been burned up.

Everything they had known as life was about to change. It was going to be difficult for them to adjust to the way of living I was ready to show them... but for the children coming up.. they would see it was the norm. They would take charge of the future and do something great for the Almighty.

The whispers of those who died just hours ago were being spread among those following me. I could hear each voice screaming for them not to come to me... but I was stronger than a faded voice. I made the faded voices and I could destroy them.. all they needed was to hear my voice.

Everyone finally had arrived to their new beginning.

They all stood there looking lost.. at me. They had no where to go. I could have left them there and they would probably just rot away. Wouldn't that be the biggest mind fuck the world has ever seen? I'm not sure I would stop laughing.. and anyone I told.. they probably wouldn't stop laughing either. I guess there would be some that wouldn't think it's that funny.. those people would run to the police.. which would just return in them dying themselves.

I had to speak to them. I had to share my heart so they knew they were following the right individual.

"I know what you're all thinking. You're not sure what you're doing. People just died at my father's funeral. One minute you are sitting next to your friends and mourning the death of my father.. the next I come to usher a warning.. you follow and they perish. It's a strange day. You all are trusting my words and I take that to heart. We are gonna start fresh. We are gonna begin a new life that'll be far different than what you're use to.. you have to keep on trusting me.. for my words are true and my ways are great."

This was the start of the Promise Land some may be familiar with when I arrived in the XWF. This was the start of that beautiful place that will forever be in my memory.

When we all arrived there... it was plain as day. Nothing really exciting to look at and I could only wonder what was going through each of the minds of those who followed me...

They probably regret it. Hell, if I were honest with myself I'd think the same thing. This guy leads us away from death into a place where there's ... nothing. Maybe death was a blessing and living with this nut is the curse. It was probably a good thing I could look at everything from their perspective.

Eli looked at everyone who seemed disappointed. What they saw with their eyes wasn't what they had hoped. It was a large field with six houses barely standing. The area was clean from any sort of trash and looked like a housing complex could easily be built here. Instead, Eli's gift to his followers was this property. Once he saw the look on their faces and almost knew they were disappointed, he was ready to encourage them.

"I know it's probably not what you all were thinkin'. Here is your first lesson in life...

Do not focus on what you see now... but look beyond.. focus on what could be. You see a plain piece of property with a few houses in bad shape. I see beautiful homes we all built.. a community of friends and trustworthy neighbors. I see your kids growing up together and becoming like family. I see a new life for all of you.. a better life. This isn't my land.. this is our land.

Today.. we build a future for a brighter future. The world is in our hands and we can change it today. I will offer myself to you all because I believe in all of you.

Or you all can go away back that old town.. without ...."

"Brother Eli, I think I can speak for everyone.. if not someone can speak up.. but this is just what I needed. I'm with ya ev'ry step of the way."

Everyone followed the man's voice and agreed they were with Eli 100%.

That's all they needed to hear. They needed me to assure them I was behind them and this was not just my land they were going to live on.. this was their very own land. They were part owners.

Once we finished a little talk about the future of The Promise Land.. we all began to restructure the homes that were already there.. and began laying the floor work of what would be known to us as the Promise Land.

We slowly built sturdy homes... several lakes for fishing... a few swimming pools for light enjoyment.. and most of all we built the Church.

I remember when we were almost completely finished with everything... the people decided to surprise me by building a very large home. I went away for a month to do some other work outside and told them when I came back.. our journey to the new life would begin. When I came back, not only did they finish everything but there was my large home. I looked around to celebrate with them on their hard work. It was breath taking.

They stood by and waited me to speak to them...

"Everyone of you have shown me you are in this journey with me. You all worked so hard and the Almighty saw it all.. and you will be rewarded. As for the house ya built for me.. I appreciate it... but I will gladly accept that house.."

Eli pointed in the distance at a old home that was barely standing they didn't touch because he asked them not to. They were shocked he chose the worse house of them all.

"You are the future. Give this house to someone else who you think deserve it."

Everyone couldn't believe their ears. Eli walked away with a big grin on his face while the people began to whisper to one another, "how selfless and great is Eli?" This was the beginning of the people praising Eli because of what he was doing for them.

Seven days following the return of Eli and the completion of the Promise Land... it was time for church. Everyone gathered together in the newly built building and sat comfortably in the wooden pews awaiting Eli to come speak to them.

After several minutes of waiting... Eli showed up in a very clean white suit. Instead of standing on the stage above them.. he sat on the edge of the stage so he could be among them.

"Here we are. Our newly found lives begin with the Almighty being in the center. You all leave with the Book of Eli. You must read it every single day. You will memorize. You will study. You will familiarize yourself with the sayings of the Almighty I had written in the book. It will be our guide. It is our compass to direct our path. It is our light in the darkness. If you disobey, then you will receive consequences.

Over the course of time.. people will come in.. and I say welcome them as you would your own. For they will be joining us on this journey. We will be strong. We will survive. We are the Almighty's Children!"

It's really a damn shame these people.. along with many more.. all died when I lit this place on fire and destroyed it. None of this is left. It's all ash and broken.

But that's for another story... hehehe.
