The entire Congregation was keeping their distance from me and Lacey. I'm not quite sure if it was because Eli asked them to, or if they were all focused on the battle coming up in a short time. Eli and I never saw eye-to-eye on many things but I would consider him a friend. He's helped me, and destroyed me all at the same time. I have to obey him. It's part of my DNA now. It's the Almighty's Way.

A bell rings. Kids that are playing outside on a playground rush inside to a classroom. The teacher walks in and informs a little girl she has to go see the "Principal". She gets harassed by her classmates thinking she's in trouble. She walks herself down to the office and waits for her name to be called to go in the office. After about ten minutes go by, her name is called and she has her meeting.

"Hello, Lacey.

"Hey Miss Fletcher.

"Do you know why you are here?

"No ma'am. Some said I was in trouble. I don't know what I did, Miss Fletcher.

"Oh, you're not in trouble sweetheart. You're an excellent child. Excellent. I wanted to introduce you to someone. Come in.

A man walks in the office and looks at Lacey.

"His name is Eric Rex. Do you want to say hello?

"Hello.

"Hello. How are you doing Lacey?

"Good, I guess.

"Lacey, you've been here for some time now. You've been a terrific child. This man wants to adopt you.

"Me?

"Yes. I've heard great things about you, Lacey. They've shown me all the pictures you colored, and all the progress you've made. If you would have me, I'd like to be your new father.

"Of course, there will be a trial period to make sure everything is working, but he's right Lacey. He's filled out all the proper forms, and we've been doing a long interview process with him. How would you like to go home with Mr. Rex today?

Lacey's eyes start to water, as does Miss Fletcher's. Eric just looks at the girl he's about to bring into his life without showing much emotion.. he has a different outlook on this process.

I remember bringing her home the first day. She was frightened. She curled up on the couch, watched cartoons, and barely spoke to me. It took a long while before she opened up to me and just started becoming part of my life. Within only a few months of us being a family.. we were separated and torn apart for Almighty's purpose. I was vanished into darkness and she was vanished to.. well.. I'm not sure. No one has talked about where she vanished to. She would appear, then disappear. Now she's supposedly here for good...

Can I trust the girl I took into my own home? I'm not sure I can. She has been killed and all that's left is an empty soul that enjoys her new found darkness.

It's not about her. It's about me. I'll be damned if I'm going to focus all my attention on her. I have a title to defend. I am a champion. Elisha or not.. Eric Rex is still in control of this ride.

"Don't let my heart grow cold
This is my letter I will unfold
The chorus of my heart
Is fading to distant parts
Me against me is my enemy
Shadowing me is enmity
Can I see through this smoke
The rope you gave me with I choke
Breathless I lie at your feet
No longer do I live in defeat
Old self goes under
With puzzles that are now a clutter

Don't let my words grow cold
Let my life be a story told
Be my guest at my home
My shelter, my love dome
Never to go back as the same
I reject the pride, fortune, fame
No longer a subject to lies
But one with purpose on the inside
Walk with me through the thorns
Calm my heart through the storms
Don't let my life grow cold
I'm now new, no longer old

Others will slip away from me
But I've awaken from this sleep
At my bedside will you be there
To embrace, my hurts we share
A child that has been born
Please do not weep, do not mourn
No longer can I recall what’s been done
I am no longer bound under the sun
But high above in the desert heat
I feed and hunger for your eternal reach
Chained up I once was
A new creation, wiped away the dust

Don't let me grow cold
I have already been sold
Bought by a faceless man
On this day as I stand on land
I wave goodbye to myself
I am poor in my eyes, but in yours I have wealth
Never again will I rise back
Dead to myself.. the odds may stack
At least I know where I lie
I may fail, but I won't stop.. I will try
Welcome me, out of this cave
I see light, no longer am I a slave

Its pulling on me to go back
A war.. a nuclear attack
Scars I will always remain
I chose to lose my life to gain
The battle starts but I walk with my head tall
This is not my career, but this is my call
May I never be cold...

A champion's tale.

Elisha is chewing up dead animals and spitting them around the ground. Lacey is somewhere in the distance singing some song.

"T-T-T-Tonight I show I win again. Mommy be proud.

We're not done with our talk, Elisha. But for now, I'm signing off... enjoy hurting Ambrose tonight. I'll return tomorrow night for another chat because this battle between us is just getting started.

"Am-Ambrose will meet a-all these a-a-animals. H-He will s-see no light. Mommy will be prow-perow-proud of me again. E-Eric go bye-bye. Eric leave. Eric go. Byebyebyebye. Winwinwin. I know, do you?
