A champion (from the late Latin campio) is the victor in a challenge, contest or competition. There can be a territorial pyramid of championships, e.g. local, regional / provincial, state, national, continental and world championships, and even further (artificial) divisions at one or more of these levels, as in soccer. Their champions can be accordingly styled, e.g. national champion, world champion.

To be a champion, To be the best at what you do. To rise above the rest as one of the elite.

He never doubted that he was good enough to be a champion. He had just always been sidetracked before and never really made a run at a title. He wanted to pay his dues first and prove to everyone that he was as good as he said he was. He let it be known that he was going after the United States Championship held by Mystica and he intended to do just that. Now he had his chance to go after the gold and all he had to do was defeat The Dimallisher.

He thought about his opponent for a minute. Here was a guy who sounds like he would be the meanest and baddest son of a bitch around. Yet he is so worried about what the fans think of him that he plays the little 'nice' boy act. Shaking hands with the fans and kissing babies. That sure wasn't going to win him any matches. They would only turn on him when the going got rough. They always do. He would learn that eventually. It was really a shame, So much potential and all of it wasted on someone who didn't have the brains to use it right.

Chesty LaRue
A penny for your thoughts? You looked like you were a million miles away.

Hank 'Thunder' Lane
I was just thinking about my upcoming match against The Dimallisher. The guy is just way too softhearted. I'm going to have to pound some sense into his sorry ass.

Chesty LaRue
Well, If anyone can do it you can. You have the guy so messed up he's having nightmares about being attacked by a biker.

Hank 'Thunder' Lane
Oh, You saw that too huh. He just doesn't know does he? I'm worse than any damn biker could ever be and I don't need a blade to do my damage.

Chesty LaRue
No, You sure don't. Not in that ring you don't.

Suddenly there was a knock at the door. Thunder walked over and opened the door to see Steve Sayors standing there with a cameraman.

Hank 'Thunder' Lane
Shit man, You just keep turning up don't you. Just like a damn hemorrhoid. A real pain in the ass. What the hell do you want?

Steve Sayors
I just wanted to find out what you thought about the promo your opponent posted on the web site. You refuse to answer my calls so I figured I would come here.

Hank 'Thunder' Lane
Oh, I see. So you figured you would just invade my privacy and I would be happy to do a little interview with you is that it?

Steve Sayors
Something along those lines. I was hoping anyway.

Hank 'Thunder' Lane
Yeah? Well why don't you hope in one hand and take a shit in the other and see which one fills up the fastest.

Hank begins to shut the door when Sayors puts his foot in the way blocking it from closing.

Steve Sayors
Come on man, Can you give a guy a break here? Your the hottest ticket around right now. I'm just trying to do my job.

Hank 'Thunder' Lane
Well maybe you should choose a new occupation.

Chesty LaRue
Look at him whining like a little bitch. Go ahead and give him a break just this one last time. It was worth it just to see him squirming and begging like that.

Hank 'Thunder' Lane
Sayors, Your one lucky son of a bitch. I was about to kick your sorry ass down the street. Right along with your two bit cameraman. Oh, By the way. Your frames are way off center when your filming. You suck dude. Chesty, Grab the camera. You get to film this one.

Chesty LaRue
Awesome, A special treat for me.

Thunder lets Steve Sayors in and closes the door on the cameraman.

Hank 'Thunder' Lane
He can wait out there until we are done. Now lets get rolling. I have shit to do today.

Steve Sayors
This is Steve Sayors coming to you live from an undisclosed location. I am standing here with Hank 'Thunder' Lane who will be going up against The Dimallisher in a ladder match to determine the number one challenger to the United States Championship currently held by Mystica. Thunder, How do you feel going into this match?

Hank 'Thunder' Lane
With my hands dumb ass, Just like everybody else. How the hell am I supposed to feel? What, Am I supposed to worry about some guy with a name that sounds like a second rate comic book character from the sixties? Sure I'm not! I made it clear last week as far as what my intentions are. I want that US Championship and no one is going to stand in the way of my getting it. Especially not this guy.

Steve Sayors
The Dimallisher isn't a slouch you know. From what I have heard the guy can handle himself pretty good in the ring. He may just give you a run for your money.

Hank 'Thunder' Lane
The only way he will ever give me a run for my money is if I wear a blindfold and have my hands tied behind my back. Seriously, This guy just doesn't have what it takes to defeat me. He doesn't have the killer instinct it takes to survive a match of this caliber. I've beaten better men than him on my worst day.

Steve Sayors
So you believe your going to win this match?

Hank 'Thunder' Lane
Have you even been listening? Get your mind off of Chesty's tits and pay attention here. It is what it is. The Dimallisher is going down. Mystica and I have a date with destiny and that US Championship is going to be mine! Simple isn't it? Even a dumb ass like you should be able to figure that out. Now go post that on your website. We're done here.

Chesty turns off the camera and hands it to Steve Sayors. Thunder opens the door and throws him out as the scene fades to black.
