Things were fuzzy...memories of more recent things slamming in all at once, mixing painfully with the older ones. My cool hand touched his warm one and I smiled. I was home... Back where things made some sense. Stepping closer, I placed my head in his chest, listening to his heart.

"You should still be sleeping, my fallen one."

This voice was softer than the other one, more at peace than the tortured tone of the last one.

"Everything is so confusing..."

"There is still much to be done Micah. Still somewhere I need to be."

He smiled at her.

"So much to do.. you need to be home.."

His eyes looked on the form she used to have, that she now had again.

"You have a family and a husband to get home to."

"I don't have a husband...children yes...but no husband. He failed at the simplest of things."

My mind shifted to the memory of Summer....the last summer Damien and I had our innocence.

"Do you remember our last summer?"

"That was ages ago Micah.. I only remember flashes, images of that time.. a time I know can never be had again."

Damien shook his head.

"You are married Micah.. to Radio."

"I never signed the papers. There was no wedding. Radio is not my husband."

My voice was firm, clearly ending that topic. For some reason, it put a nasty taste in my mouth.

"We never kissed...there wasn't a single place on our bodies that went untouched...but we never kissed...Why is that?"

I turned my ember eyes to him, watching his face.

"I don't know Micah. Everytime I tried.. you'd push me away."

He looked at her.

"What would you want to kiss me for anyways?"

I walked over and cupped his cheek softly. His blue eyes held so much pain and loss and I wanted to take it all away.

"Even if you could have me in your arms... It wouldn't make any difference."

Sighing, I stood on my toes and kissed his cheek. My hand sliding down his throat to his chest.

"I was afraid...you were and still are my best friends brother. You mean so much to me that I was scared that kiss would make things...different."

Damien grabbed my hand before it left his chest and he pulled me closer, making me gasp quietly.

"Damien..."
