Backstory/Important Character Details:
Abel grew up in a small desert parish named after St. Faustina of Poland, a saint known for pursuing suffering as the highest form of devotion. The parish followed her example with fierce commitment - nuns were often women taken from the streets and given new purpose, and its young priests the weathered men who were more used to wearing leather jackets than frocks.
At its head was Father Gracie, a terrifyingly gentle man with a silver tongue - that softened even the hardest of hearts with his humor and rhetoric.
Life in the parish centred on strict asceticism. They believed holiness was found through hardship and so pain was their friend.
Suffering produces endurance, endurance produces character, and character produces godliness.
When one of the rescued nuns became pregnant, the entire parish reacted with shock. Sexual intimacy was forbidden. The mother carried her child with constant guilt ad Father Gracie met her remorse with reminders of her wrongdoing. Her only hope was to give up the child to a lifetime of service and devotion to God - like the prophet Samuel.
The boy was named Abel Gracie, taking the Father’s name because he had no other family. The midwife later said she saw St. Faustina’s presence during the birth obviously d the parish accepted this as a sign that the child was meant for something more.
Abel grew under Father Gracie’s watch, learning that suffering was a gift and that pain shaped the soul. He was raised to believe that sainthood was reached through endurance and sacrifice. As he matured, he carried that belief with him like scripture. He wanted to prove his devotion. He wanted to be worthy.
... And so he found the XWF. A place where pain was worshipped, celebrated. He would show them that the worship the tool and he would be the one to help them find God.
Strengths:
Pain tolerance, enjoys beeing booed and jeered.
Weaknesses:
High flying / avoidant styles really frustrate him.
Entrance Theme Music (Provide YouTube link as well as name and version):
Ring Entrance (PLEASE write one out for use in match/show writing):
"Lord give me a sign!"
The vocal screams through the stadium, dropping it into a hush. The sound of a church organ hits the system, as a choir boy or two begin their harmony. The faithful begin to clap to the beat, some raising their hands as a single white spotlight settles on the top of the ramp.
Abel Gracie steps out through the curtains, eyes bowed and hands clasped in prayer. The light seems to shoot out from him, glancing off the reflecting shoulder pads on his long black leather coat. Abel lifts his chin with an "amen" still on his lips, as a smile too big to be comfortable cuts across his face. He walks down towards the ring, raising a hand to children past and whispering blessings to them. Of course... Their parents try and pull them away from this psycho.
He takes the long way around the ring, making sure to bless fans in all four corners and our delightful commentators. Taking the steps up and gently stepping through the bottom ropes, he lets his coat fall to the floor - to reveal his scar-covered body. The lights settle on the middle of the ring now, where he drops to his knees, throws his head back and spreads his arms wide as he awaits his music's end... And the beginning of his worship service.

Pin-Finisher: Gracious Baptism
A chokeslam variant. Instead of the neck, Abel palms the entire face. His thumb fingers across the eyes and thumb wrapped around the jaw. Abel lifts his opponent like this, other hand on his lower back, and slams him down into the mat. This can be done out of the blue to an opponent running towards him, or leaping at him in the air.
If the pin is broken, Gracie is visibly shaken, muttering something about demons on unbelief.
Submission Finisher: Loving Sacrifice.
Abel's face softens into a bittersweet smile. He stands behind his opponent, whispers a single worded prayer - before sliding his hands under each arm into a full nelson. Abel lifts the opponent up and shakes him like a ragdoll until he ceases to move. Abel whispers his love for his opponent as he does so.
Basically a masterlock. If broken, Abel nods gently and says something along the lines of "It's okay, I'll prove it to you."

Abel will ALWAYS smile a sick smile after victory, often he will raise up his opponents hand because he believes his opponent has benefitted most from his beat down.
Abel will NEVER avoid personal suffering if it means someone else suffers
