I've tried to 'walk this off' for a while now.
I realize though in doing so, I'm just hurting my opponents each week who deserve some real material to work with.
I'm going to be stepping out for now from the active roster. If I could remain around the boards to help out here and there, I'd ask that I be allowed, but I need to take some time off.
It could be 2 weeks, 2 months or 2 years at this point. I just have to hop off of these cards so someone respectable can fill my shoes.
I truly thought I had it licked this week. I put up a solid RP I was proud of... but... this 'block' persists... RPing is a chore that I push away until the last minute... hmmmm... I'm pissed at myself. I really am. I don't know why I get no enjoyment out of writing anymore but I don't. It's a really messed up pickle for me. I love dreaming up the stories, the narrative, the 'feel' of it all... but when it comes down to pulling up my socks and doing the grunt work of writing it out... I bail on myself. I just don't want to put my energy into it right now. Not like I have anything better to do... I'm just apprehensive to go 'balls out' anymore on writing. My heart isn't in it. My head is, my wish to stay a part of this community is... but I'm not here. I'm a ghost and phantom right now. I really wish I could stick around in some kind of capacity but I'm not serving anyone well by being on the active roster until I've got my head checked. Whenever I feel the urge and want to write again, I'll come back as someone new and someone different to make sure I can still do it before sullying my name any further.
I truly appreciate a lot of the kind words and support ya'll have given me tover the last couple of months to kinda 'snap' me out of this drought... I just gotta do my own thing for a while and hope that the 'bug' bites me again.

Not directed specifically at Cyren or anything but...
I think the main problem a lot of you guys face when it comes to writers block might be your lack of participation in the shows and ongoing storylines. Don't get me wrong. If you can't be bothered to read shows or put together storylines, then don't feel obligated to.
I imagine (can't confirm) that when writing as Sheckler, NAZI, or Angelus that the bits from the ongoing The Black Circle storyline helps them tremendously in coming up with material.
Some of my favorite parts from Duke and Flynn's trash talk involves them sticking it to Wallace and Tyrone. Or Flynn and Angelus' current feud revolving around the US Title.
For you guys who are able to pump out story-based RPs non-stop, this probably isn't an issue for you. But if you want to be able to put together some good trash talk then I think you'll need to get more involved in the shows. Just start something with somebody and find something to be pissed off with each other about. There are a ton of open challenge threads right now, but not a whole lot of trash talk taking place to make any of these potential feuds interesting.
My character, John Madison, has no history with Unknown Soldier. No reason to hate him or like him. No title involved either. But still I feel like I have 10,000 words worth of content that I can throw at him. Maybe I don't actually have 10,000 and I'm just dreaming. But that's a hell of a lot better than the feeling of writers block. And that's all just from me going back and forth with him on a challenge post.
Just my .02. You guys lemme know if you need help with this kind of stuff.
*Also-- Use us admins if you need help putting something together. We actually do offer a different perspective on the shows and can probably get you locked in to a nice feud.

Echoing Madison's post here, but I would also like to say a few other things.
Typing up segments and attacks is another great way to get a feud going and get you noticed by management and other role players. Everyone reads the results, so naturally this is the best place to get your name out and entice a feud. Personally I would like to see more of the attacks on the show to entice some feuds. This is a GREAT way to start a feud with someone. The results and the shows are a lot more entertaining when Shane and myself get attacks and counter attacks. We will always select the higher quality role player who is the most entertaining as far is it comes to the actual RP board and determining match winners. However, sending in attacks, counter attacks, segments, and help writing matches WILL give your character a 'push' to get you into bigger matches.

As for Cyren... you and I go back a long way and as you know you've always got a home here in the XWF. I think you're right that it's time for a break and to be honest I was very close to finally having to talk to you about how you've been shitting on other RPers and on shows with the things you'd do. You may not have been doing it intentionally, but in all honesty you were making people upset with how you'd take on matches and then just disrespect those in the matches as well as management in a plethora of ways, ranging from disobeying the "rated/family friendly" requirements of Warfare (by posting small RPs just to swear, etc) all the way to posting RPs with zero words and just youtube videos of music you like. Even with me there was a time or two I asked you to write something and you sent me something unusable, when I thought I'd have something usable waiting in my inbox for a show.
Your writer's block troubles you, and through that, you've troubled some of us in the process in ways you may not have realized. I know it's not intentional and I know that when you're on top of your game, this kind of thing doesn't happen as much... so do whatever you need to do and once you're ready to return as an actual participant in all aspects of what we do here, you know you are more than welcome. Always, friend.
