The Stirring Beast - Steve "KingSlayer" Davids - 01-17-2014

The shot pans open, Stave sits alone in what appears to be an eerie basement, blood oozes down the wall behind him. He has a tear trickling down his face. His face is as rough as his hair that has been torn apart in his own frustration. Attired with a grimy track suit that had evidently been worn for far too long he speaks calmly and clearly despite his evident sadness.

“How sad it is… to see a champion slumped in his basement avoiding the endlessly cruel world. A man who has been through as much torture as I have should be used to the suffering. Yet having your heart ripped out and spat upon is a pain like no other. I have been through mourning, but a betrayal is something that I have not become accustomed to other than the betrayal by my own father. According to him though, that betrayal was merely an attempt at justice. Though, justice is something that shouldn’t be taken upon your own accord Father. This world has no justice and that much has become clear to me…”

Steve drops a photograph he had been holding whilst sat on a wooden chair in the centre of the room.

“I have often spoken about honour. Maybe it is time to face the reality that honour simply does not exist in this world amongst most people. Perhaps I should join John Austin in worshipping an imaginary demon from the underworld, or mayhaps I should join Peter Gilmour in clinging on to faith. But no.”

Steve stands up, he flings the chair behind him as if he is about to declare a brand new discovery.

“I am better than that. Stronger. Enough of the sadness, enough of all of this. This is not the man that I have become. Look at me, allowing the weakness of love to suffocate me. Love does not last in a world where everything simply burns. That is why I have never understood this need to cling onto faith, god and hope. Eventually everything around you will crumble. Instead you should be clinging onto those things that do exist… Glory, pride and happiness… Walking this world feeling disappointed in events that unfold is inevitable. Life is a journey of complete and utter distraught and complete and utter rejoice. It is time now not to be sad and cry about the loss of love; instead it is time to rejoice what truly matters.”

Steve drops to the ground and cradles his Xtreme Championship; he caresses it as if it was a pet.

“You see, this title means glory. This title means achievement in a federation that only allows the very best of its competitors and of its champions. I will represent this company holding this championship for as long as possible. I’m not Peter Gilmour though; I understand this is the belt that is the hardest to hold onto but Peter… You’re more than welcome to your rematch whenever you like. See, what I do not understand is the fact you continue to bark on about how the odds were against you, it was three against one Peter. It doesn’t matter if your partners weren’t the best this business has to offer. What matters is the fact that you simply cannot get the job done. So please, I cannot wait to face you again Peter. I would have thought that losing to me twice already would have made you receive the message that you are not on par with the Psycho Sensation. IT IS KNOWN.”

Steve sits up now, and raises the belt above his head with one arm, smirking at the camera.

“I am the Xtreme Champion, you can relentlessly stalk me with your recurring pin attempts but I will do what I always do… I will keep kicking out! You and Austin are two of the same kind, no matter how many times I beat you both; you just keep coming back for more. When will you ever learn? Of course you won’t…Take your break John, take the break you need. You won't have much choice after our match, that's a promise.

Moving on from you two buffoons, I want to talk directly to Lacey and Mark. I will never understand what you two did to me, but I have moved past that now because there’s no point in caring about two people who do not deserved to be cared about. What annoys me is the thought of Blaine turning in his grave at the thought of what you two have done. I hope you realise this. If there truly was a God, he would have sent you two down by now…

John Austin, prepare for a monster like no other. I am a champion champion who will do anything to protect my gold. I want to win this match more than you could ever imagine. The beast inside of me is stirring and when that bell rings he will erupt into a flurry of destruction and I am well and truly sorry to say that it will be you who falls once more…”

Steve smirks, and wipes a tear away. Steve stands on his feet and pushes the camera over, it continues to record Steve’s feet that walk away and out of the room.

Fades.
