A Wrestling/Booking Simulator...and a Modest Proposal - Mystica - 11-08-2013

Hey, peeps. Mysty here with an interesting find. I've been playing this game called Total Extreme Wrestling 2013. It's the latest entry in a line of text-based wrestling simulator game programs from a developer called Gray Dog Software. I do hope that by mentioning this, y'all don't think I'm spamming or being a corporate whore. Just wanted to share something cool.

Anyone ever heard of it?

For those of you who haven't, it's basically a booking simulator. You play as the "booker" or writer of a wrestling company, making all the important decisions and organizing minute details, including negotiating contracts with wrestlers, assigning announcers, writing storylines, and many other features. The basic game, in order to avoid copyright issues, has its own universe of wrestlers/companies and all that. But there are mods made by independent users in which real-life wrestlers and companies such as WWE and TNA can be used.

You can find a demo of the game by googling it. I'm too lazy to post a link right now. While interesting, there is a small issue. The full version must be paid for. Luckily, I happen to own the full version.

So now...a proposal.

If anyone is actually interested in hearing/seeing more about this, I'd be willing to post the occasional non-video "let's play" of TEW 2013, with real-life mods installed.

Would anyone be interested in seeing it in action?

Sure

Yeah, sure. Mind you, I had tried doing a playthrough of EWR a while ago and it was very boring, you're probably going to have to make it interesting.

Not sure if you knew it already but EWR is practically the same as TEW, but free and has the real world wrestling companies of around 2004, but the site is still releasing optional patches for the newer content. It's incredibly simple, mainly due to its aforementioned availability and the time it was made, but quite fun nonetheless. I could have another shot at recordin it if you wanna have a look at it.

I have heard good things about TEW though, might give the demo a try, but I'll probably just end up watching your videos on it.

Sounds cool.

I attempted to use one of these, but I became bored of it very quickly and also I wasn't exactly familiar with how it worked. It'd be cool if you made a let's play kind of thing, I think it'd be interesting for myself at least if I knew how to use it.

That sounds amazing! Is it like GM mode in SD! vs Raw series?

I used to play EWR when I was younger, it's what drove me to RPing Wink

I have a bunch of others. Hard to say which is the best booking sim... Pretty sure I don't have TEW2013, though.
