Reality

Alexandra sat on the balcony of her loft, staring out at the lights of the city below her. She felt like there was someone out there watching her. But now it felt different. It felt like longing, like the need to be close to someone, to reach out and touch them. Like a huge chunk of what she was, had left her. Alexandra dropped the book that was in her hand, sending it crashing to floor of her home. She jerked her head at the sound, before kneeling down to pick it up, looking at it. She walked back inside her home, putting the book on the table next to her bed. Slipping the silk robe off her shoulders, she walked over and locked the balcony door. Before returning to her bed and slipping under the covers. She turned over and pulled the pillow over, Satty’s scent filled her nose. She curled around it and closed her eyes, falling asleep.
The Dream
“This is not reality, This is a dream.”
Alexandra found herself in the strangest of places. She couldn’t figure out where..a cave perhaps? Oh no not again. She looked around for Satty. Okay, so this wasn’t a case of time travelling. Was she dreaming? She pinched herself. Looking at her skin, it was different, a tanner shade. She walked over to a pool of water and looked down. Everything about her was different. She looked almost..alien.. she jumped back from the pool like she was confused. She didn’t understand what was going on in her head. She walked back over again, looking down at herself, pushing on her cheek. It was real…she could feel it. That’s when she realized it, she wasn’t herself.. this was a dream. She saw the countless weapons, two daggers on her right leg, a gun in a holster on her hip. The leather hooded jacket on her shoulders. She wasn’t here for an adventure.. she was here to kill or be killed.
Alexandra left the cave, walking down through the fields below. Everything was different, dead. There was no flowers, no grass, and the trees looked destroyed. This was clearly not the kind of place that Satty would have brought her. Everywhere he took her was beautiful. This.. this was something entirely different. This looked like one of the layers of Hell. She continued to walk, finding nothing more to do. She sighed, and continued to look for a way out. That’s when they gained on her, a group of demons coming at her from all sides. She reached for her gun first, emptying the clip of its contents, killing a few of them. Still ten more advanced her on her. She fired again until there were five of them. A fight broke out when one of them attacked her. She started to fight them off, using kicks, punches anything she could to keep them off, pulling out her daggers she stabbed two of them bringing them to the ground, dead. That’s when the leader spoke.
“Join us.”
“Never. I stand with them.” Alexandra’s voice sounded like her voice, but not like her. She looked around. Damn it. Still out numbered. “I am never going to be one of you. I am one of them, a part of him.” She looked at the man.
“Join us or die.”
“I will never join you.”
She looked around hoping he would rip through a portal at any time. But she knew he might not. Her act of defiance angered the leader.
“Then you die.”
They closed in around her again. There was no way she could take all of them. Instinctively she slapped the hilts of the two daggers together and it became one large sword. She looked around, bringing the blade in front of her face, looking at the demon beside her. She ran towards him, flipping over his head, swinging the blade. When she landed in a squatted position, she looked back over her shoulder and he was dead. The other’s came towards her and she tried to fight them off, one by one they fell till there was only two left. They came towards her one in front of her, the other behind her. She turned to slice the one behind her in half, it fell to the ground with a sickening thud. She noticed the form change to Matt Ward.
The Death
“There is a fire inside this heart, and a riot about to explode into flame.”
She turned around, spinning to attack the one demon left. That’s when she felt it, the sting of his blade as it entered her chest. It pierced the skin and she let out a sickening scream. It felt as if she was about to burst into flame. She fell to her knees, knowing this was it. This was the last she would be seen. She would die here in this barren wasteland. She looked up as the demons form flickered and he blade buried deep into his heart. It was Death Merchant. She fell back, her life force draining into the ground. That’s when the loss of consciousness came.
The Awakening

Alexandra sat up in her bed, her hand on her chest. She screamed out, into the emptiness of her house. Her hand went to her chest to look for the sword that had just gone through it. She had drops of sweat dripping from her face. Her hair was a mess. Secretly inside she wished her closet door would fly open and he would make his way to her. But it didn’t. It was just her.. and her alone. Her hand was on her chest, and she pulled it away to check for the blood that should have been there. But it wasn’t. She was alive. Scooting back against the headboard of her bed, she pulled her knees to her chest. It was clear, she wouldn’t be sleeping for a while. Tomorrow she had a huge match, a match that could make her a champion, and all she could think about, was their magical moments together and their tragic goodbye.
