Main Event Mafia - Matt Lennox - 07-12-2013

Is it me, or does the new Main Event Mafia kinda suck? I think rampage Jackson and Magnus shouldn't have joined. That's just my opinion. I thought Kurt angle vs rampage Jackson was gonna happen but I guess not. Sad

Rampage as a member is daft since he's going to appear once in a blue moon and he was supposed to be having a match with Kurt Angle, who is also a member. That either means they were really short sighted with their booking or just dont know what to do with him.

As for Magnus, I dont know. He comes from the old show Gladiators in the UK, they did a reboot last decade and he was basically the only one that stood out on the show for his old school wrestling persona. All the English wrestling people think he is going to be TNA champion one day. Personally I don't see it, although he is a decent talker he just doesnt have any appeal, still, he's got more appeal than Wade Barrett at least.

I could be totally wrong though. I think Sheamus is a shower of shite but people love him for whatever reason.

rampage is only there to further the storyline. eventually he's gonna turn on MEM and join A&E and we'll see angle v rampage soon

To the best of my knowledge, they never promoted Rampage vs. Angle. Just had Angle interrupt his debut and talk a little shit back and forth. From my perspective, it ended with the two of them showing each other respect.

As for the actual new MEM, I like them. Sting, Angle and Joe bring back the original core while Magnus is CLEARLY the new "It guy" in TNA and he's main event bound. Rampage gains immediate credibility in the wrestling world while playing a perfect "enforcer" for the group. My only problem, is that when originally formed, the Main Event Mafia was built around only accepting former World Champions into their ranks. Apparently that's no longer the case.

That's another thing I didn't get with the whole having to be a world champ at one point. I just think they could have chosen someone else over Magnus

i was hoping AJ would be in MEM but i guess they're going with the lone wolf gimmick for him. cant wait for him to win it unless they're really pushing magnus to win BFG and lose to ray Wink

Main Event Mafia - MattWard - 07-12-2013

Magnus is going to win not going to win the bound for glory series, he is going to lose to AJ, AJ is going to be the one that wins the world title Ala Sting and Hogan in WCW. AJ is the rouge Sting like the Crow Sting was in WCW. Bully Ray is the Hulk Hogan of TNA. AJ is going to be the one that wins the world title to prove to TNA that he don't need the numbers game to win a damn championship.

Rampage Jackson is going to be like a Mafia Hit man, he going to be like Crimson would have been when they tried to redo the Mafia right before Booker and Nash showed up in WWE for the Royal Rumble which made them flip the script and have Fortune turn face to have Angle, Steiner, and Sting be the ones that have their back against Immortal.

Overall this is a good new Main Event Mafia because you have two young guys they can build the group around, so they don't have to have Angle and Sting fight as much.

It ended with the clear implication that they wanted a best vs. best match, respect or not. TNA doesn't do oblique, if something's teased, you can bet its what they are planning.
