MARCH RPOTM - "Loverboy" Vinnie Lane - 04-04-2021 As always, the "part two" of our OTM series. In this one, we want what you think was the most stand-out individual RP for the month. It didn't have to go to a winner, and it didn't have to be on a big show. In fact, most of the ones I listed here are not from March Madness - I wanted to make sure we refreshed the memory for some of the RPs earlier in the month that might have gotten forgotten after the amazing job everyone did for the PPV. Again, this list is not comprehensive. I could put 50 up there. I do try to recognize different people here and there who might otherwise get overlooked while the "bigger names" get the focus. That does NOT mean the folks on the poll are the only options or the best options. They are simply the sample given. Anyway! Here's the links! Solace Tatum - The Quiet Storm: Issue 1 Bobby Bourbon - Altered Beast: The Musical Corey Smith - The Welcoming Committee "Nefarious" Ned Kaye - Void of the Mind Alias - #3: Dollywood Diesel - Big Daddy King Morbid Angel - Antics with Morbid Angel and Mastermind MARCH RPOTM - Atara Raven - 04-04-2021 Dollywood. That is all. re:MARCH RPOTM - Corey Smith - 04-04-2021 I'm going to continue my simping for Alias and vote for his RP for RP of the month. My God what a funhouse that one was. The guy just continues to impress, pumping out Universal Championship level material on WEEKLY shows and never letting up. This one in particular was extremely well written and a great example of a long RP that maintains your attention throughout. This is how you do it folks. Side note, but it really hurt me not to vote for Altered Beast: The Musical. I try to only vote for one option on these things, and that would be my second choice. MARCH RPOTM - Miss Fury - 04-04-2021 Kaye made a game. Games are kinda my thing. That was really awesome. I'm also BOB, and therefore exploit any loopholes I should find. As such, I submitted 3 votes. Count them all! May the best man win! However, if right and just win the day, then my one true vote is for Ned Kaye! MARCH RPOTM - Thunder Knuckles™ - 04-04-2021 Did I mention Ned made us a game? He's going to walk away with one of these! MARCH RPOTM - ALIAS - 04-04-2021 Don't know if you guys heard, but Ned made a game. MARCH RPOTM - R.L. Edgar - 04-04-2021 I’m taking some time with this post because I just can’t say enough about this month of RPing. Up and down the site, the 31 days of March ‘21 might be the best month of RPing I’ve ever seen in the XWF. Alias (Dollywood)- I think I read this one 3 or 4 times and it just got better with each read. The development of Alias’ character here was superb, I think this showed him in a new light and I don’t know how you can’t love that character after reading this. I’m not sure enough is said about just how creatively and subtly Alias stuffs trash talk throughout a RP. One of the best handlers I’ve ever read. King Doc (Heart)- A culmination of an amazing series of RPs. The fight scene between Doc and Lane with Apocalyptica playing in the background, it captured the struggle of the character and his willingness to do whatever it takes to complete his quest. Just the little taste of shock and swerve at the end, it all points to an amazing effort at telling a very well thought out and meaningful story. Bobby Bourbon (Altered Beasts The Musical)- Another RP that I read at least 3 times. Just breathtakingly creative and hilarious. This is Bobby Bourbon at his best and I love it. Thunder Knuckles (The history of Xbux)- this was earlier in the month. When I read it I couldn’t stop laughing. I’m a TK mark, and pieces like this are why. Atara Themis (Ultimate Atty)- I know Ned made a game, but Atty made the coolest deep fake I’ve ever seen and had a great story to go along with it. A lot of fun and hyper creative. Bravo. Corey Smith (market saturation 4)- I know Corey had a different piece nominated, but this one stood out to me. The visuals, the dialogue usage, the trash talk. All superb. This is the Gatekeeper at his best. Ned’s game I couldn’t get to unzip because I’m challenged. But I’ll take everyone’s word for it. Thank you to every handler for giving us all great writing to read this month. MARCH RPOTM - Charlie Nickles - 04-04-2021 Dean Rose. Any promo. MARCH RPOTM - Thaddeus Duke - 04-04-2021 Ned. Made. A. Fucking. Game. I didn't play it because I'm simultaneously busy as fuck and also lazy, BUT! NED MADE A FUCKING GAME! |
