Wrestling Action Figures? - B.O.B. D - 05-08-2019

Does anybody else have a collection of wrestling figs? I started mine about a year ago, my fiancè was getting back into Pokemon cards and I decided to get a collection of my own going. It started with 2 Amazon orders of a John Cena(it was cheap) Ultimate Warrior, Sting, and Undertaker. I got hooked after that.

Yes, I do play with them a bit, but I also have some I don't plan to open. I'll post pics later on, but I was curious if anyone else had any? Boxed or not.

I've mainly been collecting newer figs of old school wrestlers. Hogan, Luger, Flair, etc. But I do have some newer wrestlers, too. The $5 Store had a bunch of NXT ones I bought out, and my local Video Games Etc had a loose Billy Gunn, Daniel Bryan(before the beard), and a Shield Seth Rollins for $5 each that I couldn't refuse. Lol

Back in the late 90's my roommate and I would walk or take the bus around town stopping in at every Wal-Mart and Toys R' Us to buy different figures. I had a ton of WCW/NWO and WWF ones, as well as several ECW figures (which were pretty rad!)

I don't have any of them anymore, unfortunately.

Wrestling figures are about the only geek thing I haven't collected. I never got into them, but some of the ones I've seen have seemed pretty high quality. Some of the gimmicky ones kinda blow my mind, like that zombie collection from a few years back. It reminds me when they ran out of ideas for Ninja Turtles and just started releasing the same characters with wacky gimmicks. "Awkwardly Hairy at the Public Pool" Rapheal. "Middle Management" Shredder. "Guy at Bus Stop with Questionable Hygiene" Michelangelo. "Drag Race Finalist" Krang.

So much potential wasted.

I used to have alot of the WCW ones, by today's standards they were SO bad. I hated how alot of them we're action specific, so if you moved their arms certain ways you'd pretty much ruin them. Never had ECW, though. When you say WWF, are you talking about the ones with the rubber heads or the OLD ones that barely had any movement at all?

Lux, they are pretty in depth nowadays. It just sucks because they have pros and cons. Didn't like the zombie ones, though my brother asked for the Stove Cold one for Christmas. I like the Elites because their arms move alot more, but their legs don't. They come with accessories, which I like alot, but the standard one's legs can move more Which is a plus in that regards.

I'll definitely have to post some pictures either on break of what I have on my phone already, or take some pictures tonight after work.

Nah I had the more modern ones that are pretty close to what they still make, though not as detailed.

The old-old ones I had a handful of back in the 80s but those were so silly. I always like finding those in little hobby shops just to laugh at them.

The WCW ones were this style. Pretty sure I actually had this one. It killed my family.

Yeah, that doesn't look too bad for what it was back then. I had a DDP whose hands were in the diamond position and it wasn't fun to fight with because it was impossible to punch with. Lol I feel like if I found any of those old 80's ones cheap I'd buy them just to have 'em.

Here's some I have that I had saved to my phone. Like I said, most of them are opened, but considering I think it's fun to act out dream matches, I don't care.

Is that Bob Backlund? I'd buy the shit outta that. Crazy Grandpa Bob is one of my all time favorite gimmicks.

Yes it is. I'm glad I bought it, because the next time I went to Walmart they were out of him.

I have a total of one wrestling action figure. Jeff Hardy.

This is what it looks like but it isn't my own personal figure. I searched for the image cause I am a lazy bastard and didn't feel like walking down to the basement and taking an actual photo.

The only difference is that mine is located on a black metal shelving unit and situated on a black plastic ladder that came with it, positioned like he's kinda half climbing/hanging off it. Along with Freddy Krueger, Edward Scissorhands and Jack Sparrow, occupying the other three corners of the ladder and Nightcrawler, balanced on the bendy joint thing, in-between each ladder part. And yes, bendy joint thing is in fact, the technical term.

Also, Lux... I used to collect Ninja Turtles and I had all four of the Troll turtles. Yeah, that's right, Ninja Turtles with long, brightly colored Troll hair and round glassy looking eyes.

re:Wrestling Action Figures? - B.O.B. D - 05-09-2019

Blackwater, that's pretty sweet. My Walmart has an Edge/Jeff Hardy 2 pack I kind of want.

Peter, I had some of those old ones, too. I was WAYYYYY too young, though, and they all got broken over the years. Had Dibiase, Big Boss man, The Rockers. Those are the ones I remember.

Here's some more figures I have: (the first 2 are still in the box)

The thing for me is I absolutely love how well figures nowadays look.

Wrestling Action Figures? - Rain - 05-13-2019

I've collected wrestling figs for years, and TMNT figs since I was about five or so... I still pick up wrestling figs every once ina blue moon.

Please ignore this post as I am only going to be posting RPs like I was instructed
