The Master of Minds Versus.... the Muncher of Minds - Zane Norrison - 04-08-2019

"Hello, Mastermind."

"You can call me Zaney, if you'd like, I take no offense to that. Nor do I mind you spitting stats of past competitors at me. It's good to remember the past. After all, that's how we learn and grow. From past competitors and their accomplishments... even their failures hold lessons, to be honest. It is curious why you failed to mention the being that holds the number one position as far as the Television title is concerned though. Azrael Erebus held the TV title for 297 days, that's even longer than The Engineer's Universal title reign. Longer than Robert Main kept hold of the Hart Title. Azrael is the longest reigning champion in the company, in spite of being a former champion. From what I can tell anyway. I only mention this for the simple fact that if we look to others and regard them for their valiant efforts, we should look to everyone, shouldn't we? Rather than limiting our sights to a few select individuals. Personally, I am impressed by everyone and their accomplishments, great or small. Heck, even the guy that initially wins a title, should be noted for what he's done, instead of being shunned for not being his predecessors."

"That's what being employed with this company and wrestling in this fine federation has taught me. I've learned much since my debut match, from the moment that I claimed the Hart title to now, and I appreciate every second that I spend in that ring. Each and every time that I get to take part in combat within the squared circle and fight, it's an honor to me. A privilege. One that I will not squander, not even for a second. Title or no title, every match presents the possibility to hone our craft, win or lose. Our fight is no different, Mastermind."

"I do warn you that I am a zombie, there's no false rumor or lie about that. It's the truth and despite certain events from my past being unfortunate, I promise I will do my best to control myself. Unfortunately, that's all I can do. Sometimes slip ups happen, just know that it isn't purposeful or because I want to infect anyone. When a fight is occurring, there are those random times when I might lose control. I get caught up in the moment and the next thing you know, there's hoards of screaming people and my opponent is looking at me like I'm a demon from hell. That's simply the tragic part of being a zombie. I have been trying to get a better handle on things, so hopefully our fight will happen without incident. Heh. Fingers crossed."

"Speaking further on our fight, I am quite enthusiastic about facing you and thoroughly look forward to this match. I'm not sure why you'd think otherwise, rest assured I am serious in my statements when it concerns our upcoming bout. I am focused, ready and determined. I apologize if I did anything that led you into believing that I didn't care but I hope my words will show you the error in your false interpretations about me. As you mentioned it will be the first time for us to meet in the squared circle and that is a monumental occasion."

"Although, pretty much everyone that I've come into contact with during a fight has been a first for me. I haven't been around as long as some of these impressive athletes within the industry but in time, that will change. Perhaps, one day we will look back and laugh over this very occasion. When the Master of Minds fights a braineater, for the very first time. Who knows what else that day might bring? Or who might be wielding titles and reigning as champions? Will legends still roam or will those dinosaurs become extinct? The future is unwritten. Much like the outcome of our fight."

"While you are a tremendously gifted adversary, there's really no guarantee who will win. Anything could happen. Despite being new, I think I have proved a great deal of worth, thus far. I did defend the Hart title for 84 days, as you pointed out and that takes effort. I wasn't given a free pass or shown mercy by anyone. So I do have skill when it comes to wrestling and I assure you, I will bring every ounce of that to our fight. This is my solemn oath to you my prestigious opponent, out of respect and the sheer love of the sport."

"When we clash in that ring, it shall be a battle for the ages and nothing less will occur. The fans deserve it, right? I must confess, when I first became what I am... a zombie, I thought I'd deal primarily with frightened villagers wielding pitchforks, not actual fans. People who like me. Then again, I never thought I'd be wrestling in front of millions of people either. I aim to show appreciation for the acceptance that I have received in every way possible. If that means stomping your skull in and beating you down in the middle of the ring, so be it. Prepare yourself for that, Mastermind. For that is your destiny, come Wednesday Night Warfare. You will be facing a man that will make it his goal to entertain and give it his all in the process. Do not underestimate me, that is literally the worst thing you could possibly do. And it will prove to be your downfall."
