More Training plus Decisions, Decisions - Promo #2 - Mastermind - 04-08-2019 PREVIOUSLY We return to 1997 where a 23 year old young Mastermind has gone to Australia to train under the legendry Australian wrestler Outback Jack. His first day of training was an eye opener, and he barely survived it. And now the continuation: SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA OUTBACK JACK'S TRAINING CENTRE 6 a.m. RUNNING AREA Xavier, Mastermind's Trainer, was waiting at the running at the running area when Mastermind slowly walked up. "I'm ready to go boss," smiled Mastermind "How much discomfort are you in, kid?" asked Xavier "I'll be fine once I'm warmed up." "I'm not going to ask again, kid, I don't care either way, but you have employed Outback Jack to act as your manager so that you can get your career back on track, so I need to be at least reasonable about your health." Mastermind smirked, and against his better judgement, took off onto the running field and tried his best to start jogging. "Bloody Kiwi," sighed Xavier "Too damn proud to admit things," "Why what's wrong with him?" came Outback Jacks voice from behind "The kid is suffering from being pushed too hard on his first day, his body has seized up on him." "Then why are you letting him run his laps?" "Because he chose to do it, because he's a stubborn kiwi." Zana, Outback Jack's daughter ran past. "I'll help him." Xavier shook his head "It looks like that girl of yours has bonded with your client. Maybe a bit too much. I've never seen her up this early before helping." "It does seem that she gets the best out of him," replied Outback Jack "Which I think is a good thing." "Well it is until lines get blurred. Which will become a problem." "He's 6 years older than her, and he has a girlfriend back in New Zealand," "Well again we'll just have to keep an eye on things, more like you, as thats not my job." "You just stick to being the trainer, I will keep an eye on everything else." Mastermind was trying to push through the pain barrier of a stiff body, and had managed to start jogging. Zana jogged up to him. "Morning." "Morning." "How's the body?" "Fine" lied Mastermind "Yeah right," smiled Zana "Why are you jogging at half pace." "I'm warming into it this morning." "Really? Warming into it? Surely you must be warmed up now? Come on race you to the half way point." Zana took off, cursed under his breath, and tried to take off at full speed, but his body was still too sore, and he managed to pull his hamstring on his left leg. He went down in a heap like he did the day before but this time he grabbed his leg. Outback Jack got on his walkie talkie and called for a medic. Xavier rushed over to Mastermind. "What did I tell you. YOUR STUPID Kiwi pride got in the way and this will set you back weeks." "Sorry," said Mastermind "It's my fault," said Zana coming back up "I pushed him," "It's both your faults." "Calm down, Xavier," said Outback Jack walking up "Yes he will have comprimised his fitness training, but he can still learn in other ways until his leg gets better." Xavier turned and walked off in a huff as a medic came running over. "I'm so sorry sir," said Mastermind looking up at Outback Jack "It's early in your training 'M', so you need to know the limitations of your body. It's okay to push but not too much until your body is use to it. Next time DO NOT over do it." "Yes sir," "Get him to the Medical Bay and fixed up and then call me when you're done." "Yes sir," said the medic "Zana," said Outback Jack turning and walking away. Zana looked back at Mastermind and mouthed 'I'm sorry,' before turning and walking off after her father. Mastermind's injury curse continues. T.B.C WEDNESDAY 3RD APRIL 2019 WELLINGTON, NEW ZEALAND WELLINGTON AIRPORT Mastermind and his wife, Maria, had just landed back in New Zealand after their successful trip to the U.S where Mastermind reclaimed the X-treme Championship for the 3rd time in his career. They were disembarking their Private Jet when Mastermind's cell phone started ringing. He answered it. "Hello..." "Hey bro...." came a voice he hadn't heard from in ages He stopped dead in his tracks. It was his brother, Scott. "Scott?" "Yeah bro it's me. Long time no talk," "Yes.... Long time..... What's going on?" "I know this is a sore point, but it's about our father." Mastermind hung up almost instantly. "Babe," said Maria from behind him "What's wrong? Is that your brother?" "Yes, he said somethings up with our father." Mastermind's cell started ringing again. Maria put her hand on his shoulder. "I know this is hard. Just hear him out. Your brother is reaching out to you." Mastermind answered his cell phone reluctantly. "What about him?" "He collapsed and he's in hospital!" "So..... what does that have to do with me?" "He knows you are coming to town for that XWF event. He wants yo see you." "No thanks not interested," Mastermind hung up again. "Well?" "He's in hospital, he wants to see me." Mastermind headed off the plane. Maria's cell phone rang. t.b.c. PRESENT DAY EN-ROUTE TO DUNEDIN, NEW ZEALAND The camera fades in to the Private Jet of Mastermind as it just left Wellington Airport traveing south to Dunedin, where XWF's final event on the New Zealand part of it's Australasian tour, is to take place. Dunedin is where Mastermind's family lives including his estranged father. The camera finds him deep in contemplation mode. "Babe you're on," came Maria's voice from off camera Mastermind blinked and looked into the camera "Zane, Zane, Zane. It looks to me that you are taking our match with a grain of salt. That means you don't seem interested in it at all. Is it because my X-treme belt isn't on the line? And that this is some how some insane attempt to force me to put my X-treme championship on the line to make you come out of hiding. I see right through you Zane." Mastermind smiles. "Let me just say that is not going to happen. You are going to have to try and beat me and get yourself into the Number one contenders match at the next Warfare in order to at least have a shot at facing me for the title on the 8th May. "Let me also say that you don't stand a chance either way because of your lackadasical approach to our match this week. "I was looking forward to our match because this is our first match against one another. But like so many of my other so called opponents, you are another let down. "When a title is on the line then you are serious but because it's not you just don't care. Well I'm going to show you on Wednesday that you should have cared, because I'm going to win the match and there's nothing that you can do about it. "You may put up some resistance but that's all its going to be.... minimal resistance. And that's all I'm going to say.... for now." Mastermind smirks and the camera fades out. |
