Books? Authors? - Grande Ricardo - 12-13-2017 So, since we're all amateur writers here, and assumably fans of reading, figured we could all swap authors and books we enjoy. For me, I've been reading a lot of Mao, Rosa Luxemburg, Lenin, Max Stirner, and Stalin lately, but for fiction I've been enjoying Frank Herbert, and Harper Lee. What about you? Books? Authors? - erikblack - 12-13-2017 Anything with dragons and elves though I do love this series of books called the hand of God. It's about a boy who's only purpose is to bring about the end of the world. It's actually where I got some aspects of Erik from. He's gone from flamboyant yound kid to this calm and collected man he is now. Love the books though. Books? Authors? - The Engineer - 12-14-2017 I am indeed a sophisticated man of the pen. **Farts** I seriously have a mini library with hundreds of books. I, like many of you I presume, enjoy some fantasy and sci-fi, some horror too. Some of my favorite authors are China Mieville, Clive Barker, and Neil Gaiman. When I feel like challenging myself I will read something literary and Cormac McCarthy is a God amongst men. I've also enjoyed Joseph Heller. I do like non-fiction too, usually with sociological themes, political science, or social justice. Grande, I think it's hilarious and amazing that you're so well read and then get on here and write what you do. You handled Kropotkin too, didn't you? Books? Authors? - Grande Ricardo - 12-14-2017 I did handle Kropotkin, yeah. I was trying to be serious with them, and bring my politics into it, but that didn't work very well. Which is why I used the name Kropotkin, since he's the founder of Anarcho-Communism. Not very fun to write, though. re:Books? Not very fun to write, though. It didnt click that you're the same guy until I just read your reading list. I liked Kropotkin but I can see how he would be a tough character to keep going. re:Books? Authors? - Chasm - 12-14-2017 I don't read as much as I used to but I know my kids are getting me the new Stephen / Owen King book for Christmas so I look forward to reading that, but I think the last book I read fully was Chris Jericho's new book and it was ok not as good as his others re:Books? Authors? - Phantom Panzer - 12-14-2017 I used to love to read. Last book I read completely was a Hunter S. Thompson book. Better Than Sex. Books? Authors? - "The Wolf of Afghanistan" Joshua Schuler - 12-14-2017 I'm a james Patterson fan clive clusser I believe his name is. Umm it has been awhile since I've read besides on here honestly. Books? Authors? - Imperial - 12-15-2017 Love me some Neil Gaiman, Brandon Sanderson, and Brent Weeks when it comes to non fiction I really recommend the Wetboy series by Brent Weeks, starting with Way of Shadows. His Lightbringer series is also phenomenal fantasy writing. Brandon Sanderson's Mistborn and Way of Kings was also some of the best fiction I've read. I also read a lot of modern theatre, and do some stage myself. Books? Authors? - "The Wolf of Afghanistan" Joshua Schuler - 12-15-2017 Damn this thread just made me order a old child hood series, Artemis Fowl. |
