Arrow, Flash, Gotham, anything comic book based is my jam! Up to date with the Us on Arrow And Flash despite living in the Uk ;-) Gotham though I watch live on tv over here so avoiding spoilers can be quite tricky when you are a little addicted to Twitter!! Game of Thrones - Makaveli - 04-23-2016 I watched gotham, all the episodes on Netflix anyway. It was good but Arrow is my favorite lol love that show. That reminds me I got a few episodes I still gotta watch. I shall do that now never got into twitter, facebook drives me nutty as is hahah gawd damn social media! re:Game of Thrones - Chris MacBeth - 04-23-2016 (04-23-2016, 01:45 AM)Makaveli Said: I watched gotham, all the episodes on Netflix anyway. Haha Game of Thrones - St. Diabolicus - 04-23-2016 Ilive.to full of ads, but good for streaming. It's how I watch WWE PPV. Game of Thrones - Jon Willis - 04-24-2016 I'm a big fan of Game of Thrones. I've read all the books, seen all the episodes, I even Dungeon Mastered a Game of Thrones Dungeons and Dragons game. We had some pretty cool times. That said, I'm super excited for the premiere and I'm actually a little sad that a bunch of episodes didn't leak like they did last season. As far as current watchings, I finally started watching "The Wire" as a bunch of people kept bringing it up when discussing G.O.A.T. TV shows. It's pretty good so far although I'm only two seasons in. re:Game of Thrones - #MemeQueen Luca Torchwick - 04-24-2016 (04-24-2016, 03:47 PM)Jon Willis Said: I'm a big fan of Game of Thrones. And if this is turning into a thread where we discuss what we're watching currently, I gotta say that all y'all need to watch The Americans. Best show on TV currently IMO. FX/FXX has been on a roll in general as of late. Justified (RIP), The Americans, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, American Crime Story: The People vs. OJ Simpson, You're the Worst, and a lot of other shit I've heard is great but haven't watched yet (Man Seeking Woman, Baskets, Archer, etc.). Probably the best network atm. Game of Thrones - Equinox - 04-24-2016 Vikings all the way. Game of Thrones - Jon Willis - 04-27-2016 Sooooooo, now that the premiere has come and gone, anyone have any thoughts? I'll share mine, SPOILERS of course. I think the premiere was the perfect example of everything that is both right and wrong with Game of Thrones right now. I feel like now that the show has outpaced the books, the show runners are running fucking wild and they're essentially writing a big fanfic. The quiet moments with Davos were great, the moments with Jamie and Cersei were great, little things like that, but HOLY FUCK DOES DORNE PISS ME OFF. It's not enough that they completely bungled that storyline, the VERY FIRST CHANCE THEY GET to branch out from the books they concoct this insane plot of Oberyn's widow becoming this master planner and executioner. They completely emasculated Doran, they completely glossed over the fact that he was one of those "in it for the long con" characters like Varys and Littlefinger, and WORST OF ALL, they fucking kill Areo Hotah like he's a punk nobody. That really stung, I loved Areo's chapters and thought he was a really fascinating character. And he just goes out in the most meaningless way possible. All in all, we're in for a very interesting ride. I feel like the good will continue to outweigh the bad, but I feel like the bad is continuing to get worse. I guess it took one really dumb moment to make me realize how I've kinda just been "putting up" with all the dumb stuff GoT has been doing for the last few seasons, just ignoring its faults in order to chill and enjoy the show. I still have hope for the show and definitely plan to keep watching, but at this point I think it's beyond arguing that the show was in much better shape when it only took small liberties with the published works. Game of Thrones - Travis McCoy - 04-28-2016 Massive fan, I have a huge heart tree, God tree tattoo on my calf. The show is deffinately past the books now. Jon dying was towards the end of the last book that's been written Game of Thrones - Travis McCoy - 04-28-2016 Ya...I'm a big fan Game of Thrones - Jon Willis - 04-28-2016 Nice tat man. Really awesome. I don't mean to sound like a snob, but if anyone enjoys the show but hasn't read the books, I'd definitely recommend reading the books. The first three are absolute classics, seriously, they're some of the best fantasy fiction ever written. The fourth and fifth vary from passably mediocre to just as good as the predecessors, dependent on which character is going through which event. The only real problem is that at this point it's anyone's guess if GRRM will actually finish the series. That's a very heated debate in and of itself. Game of Thrones - Travis McCoy - 04-28-2016 I liked all the books actually. The first was probably my least favorite though. Not because the quality of the book but because I'd already watched the first season of the show and its pretty much exactly the same. The Sansa chapters almost killed me in book one Game of Thrones - Peter Fn Gilmour - 04-28-2016 JON SNOW IS NOT DEAD.. the sorceress (who looked ugly after taking her choker off btw) will resurrect him by the end of this season.. bet u re:Game of Thrones - Chris MacBeth - 04-28-2016 (04-28-2016, 06:58 PM)Peter Fn Gilmour Said: JON SNOW IS NOT DEAD.. the sorceress (who looked ugly after taking her choker off btw) will resurrect him by the end of this season.. bet u True Story! re:Game of Thrones - Travis McCoy - 04-29-2016 (04-28-2016, 06:58 PM)Peter Fn Gilmour Said: JON SNOW IS NOT DEAD.. the sorceress (who looked ugly after taking her choker off btw) will resurrect him by the end of this season.. bet u I really think you're right but it's game of thrones man. Even the people who have been brought back aren't generally what they were before they died. Except that thoros dude. If Jon's parents are who everyone thinks they are then I'd imagine we haven't seen the last of him Game of Thrones - Jon Willis - 04-29-2016 I definitely agree. Also, again going into the SPOILER-y side of things: From several websites, it's been shown that the actor that plays John takes part in a large-scale battle against what looks to be Bolton forces, wearing what looks to be normal armor. The prevailing theory is that one way or another Jon comes back, and since his vows end in death, is now free to wage war against the Boltons. He'll rally both the Stark loyalists and the wildlings to his side and crush the Boltons now that they've run afoul of the Lannisters and have no backup. Now, getting away from the spoilers, just to throw an idea out there: would anyone be up for maybe running a Game of Thrones Dungeons and Dragons campaign? I had to stop the one I was running, that's a loooooooooong story, but it was a lot of fun and I've recently gotten the itch to start DM'ing again. Just wondering if anyone would be interested, we'd need about four/five in order to really make a go of it. I can make it as beginner-friendly as necessary if anyone is interested but doesn't know about D&D. |
