Memories - Bjorn Felhammen - 09-01-2015

This is for those who are old enough to remember WCW. Do you miss it, and what is your fondest memory?

re:Memories - kmoney - 09-01-2015

My fondest memories of WCW were that it was just something different, like World War 3 and War Games.

Memories - Vincent Lane - 09-01-2015

WCW pre-Hogan was pretty great. The way it was a true alternative with real differences and real new characters from what those of us who didn't grow up in the South were used to (WCW began as Georgia Championship Wrestling).

As a New Yorker, WWF was pretty much all I knew.

Hogan fucked it, but 1996 was a great year due to the nWo and the cruiserweights, as well as guys like Jericho, Guerrero, Benoit, etc. stretching until Starrcade 97 when they screwed the pooch and ruined it all over again.

re:Memories - Bjorn Felhammen - 09-01-2015

Being from the south, WCW was everything. They had great talent, but I agree with you vinny, it went to shit. Prince iukea, lash leroux, disco inferno, and Alex Wright were all fun to watch, but their potential was never allowed to bloom.

Memories - The Reverend Tholomew Plague - 09-01-2015

My founders memories of WCW aren't really my memories since I was only alive for 3 years of it..

With that said however I enjoy a lot of pre-Hogan wcw as for post Hogan I liked the world war 3 and war games matches

And the piper vs Hogan and Nash vs Hall feuds

Do yourself a favor and never, ever watch Uncensored 1995.

re:Memories - Bjorn Felhammen - 09-01-2015

With that god awful cage?

Memories - Vincent Lane - 09-01-2015

That's the one. Where Hogan single-handedly beat everybody all by his lonesome, because Hogan.

Memories - Bjorn Felhammen - 09-01-2015

It was in Louisiana, my dad took me to see it live, I only cheered cuz of meng and barbarian

Memories - Vincent Lane - 09-01-2015

Meng was the shit.

Also to be avoided - Hogg Wild in 1996.

The redneck biker reaction to Harlem Heat, women, luchas, etc. is so gross.

re:Memories - Bjorn Felhammen - 09-01-2015

I watched it recently and laughed my ass off

Memories - Peter Fn Gilmour - 09-01-2015

the NwO mocking the Horsemen was EPIC!

MY SPOT

Memories - Bjorn Felhammen - 09-01-2015

Not my spot on the couch

Memories - Roman M. Wulfrun - 09-02-2015

I'd have to say my favorite memory was on March 26, 2001.

Actually scrolling through the uncensored wiki I think you mean 96 the one where Hogan and Savage defeated somewhere between 8-10 guys
