To prevent him from losing the title on Madness would be my guess.
I wouldn't be shocked if they had planned to give the title back to Le Strange after his matches this week.
Keep in mind this is speculation on my part but I am pretty confident in it.

ooc: the funny thing is he would only have lost the title on Madness if HE got pinned in that 1 fall match, which is unlikely at this point. The match itself was never billed "as" an X-treme title match, meaning the only way the champ would have lost the title in that match was if he himself took the loss. If, however, a match is billed as being for the X-treme title from the moment it's booked, then yeah the winner of said match would walk out the champ. Dem details yo.
