His Mother Anne, took her own life because of the indiscretions of her huband (Ethans Father) when Ethan was 15 years old. William Bird was a womanizer, with illegitimate children with many other woman. He abused drugs and alcohol and would be gone for months at a time. Ethan lived alone from the time he was 15, with his father working all the time he was forced to raise himself. During this time, he began to take an interest in wrestling and began attending and competing in local shows at the age of 16. When he was 18 he began school at Columbia University in New York. During this time his relationship with his father became worse. He began to fault his father for the death of his mother. He graduated Columbia with a Master Degree in Business and Economics. At the age of 23 he was set to begin working for his Father. During the time Ethan was at school he continued to compete in local wrestling events. The night before he was to begin work with his father, he was badly injured during a match. When he failed to attend his first day of work, his father was enraged and embarrassed. William went to Ethan's apartment and physically assaulted Ethan for "failing him". After Ethan healed, he left the city of New York, taking none of the money his father had provided him. He travelled to Japan to begin training to be a professional wrestler. He spent 3 years wrestling in Japan, Europe and South America. Captured titles and made friends with many of the local talents. He was content, living on his own money and doing what he loved. 3 years to the day he arrived, he captured the Japanese Heavyweight Grand Prix Title beating a Japanese legend in a 60 minute Ironman match. The next day the company he was wrestling was purchased by a large IT company he was immediately fired and stripped of his title. He was removed from all record books as if he never existed. Simply because he was an American. He returned to NY, hostile and broken. He had twice lost everything by the greed and money of big business. He swore he would never be a "corporate man" and his views on society changed. He began living on the streets by choice, he stopped wrestling and began competing in bare knuckle street fights. ![]() |
