Mini Gauntlet #1 - Mastermind - 09-12-2014
The camera fades in to the mansion of Mastermind. Instead of finding himself inside the mansion it finds him outside in the grounds. It finds him in a made up pen. He looks at the camera.
"Imagine if you that this pen looks like a wrestling ring. Just imagine it, I dare you. So I'm standing in the ring, and this Wednesday is part of a Mini Gauntlet. Here's the question. How do we compete in a gauntlet match? Better yet what's the next question? The next question is, how do you prepare for a gauntlet match.
"Simple. Fact #1: A gauntlet match is where two wrestlers start inside the ring.
"Fact #2: The winner of the match gets to face the next wrestler that enters, and so forth. Until there are no more wrestlers.
"Fact #3: The winning wrestler is the one who survives until he is last.
"Question: How long can one last for if he isn't prepared? Not long."
Mastermind smiles.
"I'll let you all in on a little secret. Here's how I prepare."
Mastermind stands there concentrating. Then he nods his head, and one of his servants takes what look like a board away from the front of the pen, and a sheep comes running out of the hole towards Mastermind. Mastermind sizes it up, and then dives, grabs it, and covers it. He counts. 1... 2... 3...
He gets up, and the sheep runs away towards the back of the pen. He signals again. And another sheep comes from the hole. He sizes it up, tackles it, covers it, and counts to 3.
Mastermind gets up very sweaty.
"I can do this all day long. Imagine if you these sheep are your real life opponents. They come into the ring, they try taking you down, but you've actually sized them up first, you tackle them off guard, and then you cover them, get the 3 count, and go again. How ever long it takes, you try to survive."
Mastermind nods again. Another sheep enters the pen. He sizes it up, lunges at it, gets it, covers it, counts to 3, and then lets it go.
Another sheep enters the pen, he tries to size it up, lunges at it, but misses it. He gets up as it runs to the back of the pen. Mastermind turns to the camera.
"Then there will be times that you cannot keep it up in the ring, and you may get so far, and only so far can take it far enough. Then you are the one that gets covered.
"But I can guarandamtee you all, that by working here, at doing this, I will be better prepared than most of you who have entered the Mini Gauntlet, and I will be the one to win this match. Then that will make you all sit up and take notice."
Mastermind laughs and he goes back to his practicing. The camera fades out as another sheep comes into the pen.
