Lazy Wins Titles? - Mastermind - 08-27-2014
The camera fades in to the Mansion of Mastermind, but instead of fading in to this thinking chair, it fades in to a room, that it has never been in before. A room that is dark. Suddenly the brightness of the camera shows Mastermind's face appearing from the dark.
"So according to Swagmire, to win a title you have to be lazy. What funny screwed up logic is that?"
Mastermind looks down then he whispers.
"We all know laziness doesn't win titles."
Mastermind looks back up, and shakes his head.
"So according to Swagmire, I won the title because I bore Mystica to sleep, by just covering him. I did the work, I covered him, and if he was lazy enough not to kick out, that's his problem, not yours or the worlds. He was there for the taking. I followed him, and I made the most of my opportunity. You could say I was the opportunistic opportunist."
Mastermind looks back down again, and waits, and then whispers.
"We all know laziness doesn't win titles."
Mastermind looks back up.
"To be an opportunist opportunist, you have to take your opportunities when they reveal themselves. You don't do that by standing back and doing nothing, a bit like yourself Swagmire. You can say that like everyone else that I won a nothing title like the former Ark of the Covenant title, but I did just that I won it. I was in a championship scramble and won it. I did not stand around doing nothing to earn it, I went in there and pinned twice. I did the job."
Mastermind looks back down again, and then whispers.
"We all know laziness doesn't win titles."
Mastermind looks back up.
"So you won a briefcase Swagmire, bully for you. While most of us are sweating our arses off to earn recognition, you take the easy way about it. Instead of earning a title shot, and winning contender ship matches you use your briefcase to get into this match. Not that I begrudge you that. But the thing most people want to see is how hard you work to get the title. Not how lazy you can be to win a title."
Mastermind looks back down again, and then whispers.
"We all know laziness doesn't win titles."
Mastermind looks back up.
"I'm not going to walk in to the ring, and bow down to you. I'm not going to let you take the belt from me willy nilly, I'm not going to be the easy beat. I'm not going to let you win easy. You're going to have to fight for it. You're going to have to do what you haven't done yet, and that is dig deep down inside of you and work hard. Yes you've used the briefcase, and you may use it in the match as it is an extreme match, but you're going to have to do one thing. Compete."
Mastermind looks back down again, waits a few minutes, and then whispers.
"We all know laziness doesn't win titles."
Mastermind then walks backwards as his face disappears into the blackness, and the camera fades out.
