Howdy peeps being from the uk and using GMT timezone. I work out we're 8 hours ahead of PST so therefore Rp's deadline at Relentless for me is 8 PM does all that sound correct?

Timezone - Gator - 08-21-2014

You're correct, I'm in the same boat, it's around 8pm or 9pm. There's usually a little leeway for deadlines though, but it's best to get stuff in earlier rather than later.

RE: Timezone - Scully - 08-21-2014

Thanks Gator. I thought it was, just wanted to double check

RE: Timezone - Gator - 08-21-2014

No problem man, happy to help Smile

Timezone - Socrates - 08-21-2014

I found it strange because, being from the UK and Googling a conversion, it said that PST isn't currently observed because of Daylight Saving Time; so I didn't know if it was 8 or 9 becuase it's actually PDT or whatever, damn timezones...

Timezone - Gator - 08-21-2014

Yeah fuck time zones. What have they ever done for me!

Timezone - Mastermind - 08-21-2014

I normally go by logging out and checking the bottom of the forum where the normal time is there.

RE: Timezone - Scully - 08-21-2014

Good idea, Mastermind. Never thought of that lol

Timezone - Liz Hathaway - 08-22-2014

Because you're no mastermind.

Ba dum tiss

Timezone - Scully - 08-22-2014

I am no mastermind, I wouldn't want to make myself sound like a game show

Timezone - Vincent Lane - 08-22-2014

Daylight savings time is so ridiculous and unneeded. I wish they would just do away with it. Not even every state uses it, so you can have people right next door to each other be an hour apart.

Timezone - Scully - 08-22-2014

I wrote and finished another rp just before 9pm GMT and I missed out. Wrote it for nothing haha

Timezone - Blizzard - 08-23-2014

I'd keep the PST board time on so you can always see it on the board. Maybe the new forum will have a RP clock. We've done it here in the past.

Timezone - "Loverboy" Vinnie Lane - 08-23-2014

I've always figured that it's pretty easy to figure out one time what your local time is compared to the board time.

For example, if "Bub" is in a different time zone and figures out that Pacific time is 12 noon when HIS local time is 3 pm, once he figures that out, he always knows that. There may be some rare instances where that wouldn't work, but for the most part once you distinguish the time difference, it should be easy to remember the next week, and the next week, and the next week, and so on...

And yes if you log out, I believe the board time shown toward the bottom of the page is Pacific.

I don't remember the XWF ever having an RP clock/countdown shown right on the RP boards, but I'll look into that for the new server. I might not have been around during those years.
