Coding - Cain - 07-28-2014

I've seen text glow before on here.

Is there a code for that?

Coding - "Loverboy" Vinnie Lane - 07-28-2014

A few different people have had different variations of glowing text. It's normally done in a span tag.

I can create something like that for you if you want, but I need to know 2 colors... the base color of the letters and the color you want the glow to be.

Black text, neon green glow.

Rebranding Cain and this is part of it.

Black text on a black board, nice. You may want to rethink that, since I doubt a green glow will make black text visible enough on a black board for people to read anything you write with it.

Nah mang, he's living dangerously.

RE: Coding - Cain - 07-28-2014

Okay, white text then.

RE: Coding - Cain - 07-28-2014

Somebody help meeeee! Lol

The black with green glow will actually show up. Let me see if I can whip up an example here in a sec.

Are you thinking of using this for spoken paragraphs in RPs? Or is this like for a name or something, meaning it will be displayed larger and only in one place?

RE: Coding - Cain - 07-28-2014

Probably just for time stamps and names and such. Looking for a new color scheme basically and i wanna "fancy things up".

Many similar examples to choose from. You can quote my post to see how I did them. Slight variations between "lime" and "green" as the glow color and also variations in how strong or fat the glow gets, as seen in the text-shadow section of the span code.

The first option is a nightmare to read, at least for me, it doesn't appear legible. Only the two after the first one and the second to last, are readable in the second panel. The third option is really the best out of them all, clarity wise.

Just thought I'd help and weigh in. Smile

Shut up. We hate you!

Coding - Ozymandias - 07-29-2014

As someone who has tinkered around with glowing text a lot black text is murder.

Try silver or gray text.

Black text with green glow!!!

I'm tinkering with this but is there a good resource page to learn this stuff? If i make the text any other color it dissappears.

I don't know off hand of a page just strictly for this, no. I am just familiar enough with what I've seen others use and with css styling that I whipped that up myself.

The TEXT color in that above example is currently #000 which equals black. If you want to change it, you can replace it with another color from a color generator or with a color name like red or green.

To make the text itself red, for example, you could do this for that part of the code...
style="color: red;

Not sure if I'm explaining this the best way but let me know if you have other questions.
