They had to do it because Foles almost gift wrapped them the game. They won. That's what matters. Obviously I'd pretty a nice win where they dominated their opponent from whistle to whistle but sometimes you win ugly. As long as it's a learning experience I have no issue with it. I very much doubt that Foles ever plays as poor of a game as he did today.

Giants O-Line looked like shit. Granted, they were down 2 starting guards and the Lions have a very strong D-Line but I thought we'd be able to run at least a little bit. Going to need to rush the ball if we want to open up the field for passing. Getting Beckham on the field should help, he's a legit deep threat. I don't know where Randle was tonight. Cruz needs to get his ass back in the slot. His whole game is yards after the catch; he's only an average, undersized WR if you take that out of his game. Send him on the slant and get the ball in his hands (if he'll actually catch it).
Defense wise, they looked alright past a few blown coverages... except on third-and-longs. I'm not sure why the Giants insist on playing zone when they have no pass rush. You sign Cromartie and Thurmond to go along with Amukamara... and then you don't trust them to play man-to-man? I understand that Megatron is the best WR in the league but we're going to need to trust our corners if the defense is going to shut down QBs. Stafford was standing in the pocket all day and throwing to guys who weren't even covered. Run defense was solid, though. Gonna need that against Arizona next week.
